Denso 471-7008 New Compressor with Clutch

Used it on my 2000 jeep cherokee, easy to install and great price. Works great used it all summer with no issues.

This compressor is a perfect fit for a 1998 Jeep Cherokee. It has only been on the vehicle for about a month but I expect it will last the remaining life of the truck. The last replacement lasted less than 2 years. A Denso compressor is a name branded product and will have a Denso label on the body somewhere. IF IT DOESN'T HAVE THIS STICKER IT IS NOT A DENSO COMPRESSOR. Make sure you get what you paid for!

This is not a Denso and it is not new; this is a rebuild, and it is a 4 Seasons rebuild. This listing is created to mislead customer into thinking they're buying a Denso AC compressor. Do a youtube search on Scotty Kilmer air conditioning compressor replacement and you'll see his video about 4 Seasons junk rebuilds; he had to replace 3 of them on one car. I hope they've improved their product since then but no matter because they're lying about the rebuild and if their paint job is any indicator of the quality then it's still junk. My compressor also came without compressor oil and the plastic wrap was already opened - I can only assume somebody bought, opened it and returned it without the oil. They should tell you it's a returned product and check the contents of the box. Update: the compressor leaks through one of the seals so not surprisingly it is a junk rebuild as I suspected. It cost me a refill of refrigerant that all leaked out. It’s going back! Just glad I caught it before the return window closed. I really never should have installed it in the first place.

I purchased this compressor as a replacement for the worn and knocking unit in my 2001 Jeep Cherokee Sport, along with a Four Seasons 83106 Accumulator, liquid line & expansion orifice, and suction/discharge manifold. After thoroughly purging the condenser and evaporator core, I installed this new compressor and other components, filled the system with appropriate compressor oil, pulled a vacuum, and charged with R134-a. The compressor kicked right on during the charging process, as expected, and was very quiet. Once the system was completely charged, I was able to get 42 degree air out of my center vents on an ~85 degree day. The compressor works well, is quiet, fit perfectly (including the wiring harness), and had a nice smooth and quiet pulley bearing, especially when compared to the one it was replacing. I've had it for about a week and have been impressed with its performance. Driving it yesterday after the car sat in hot sun all day, the A/C was able to cool the car down quickly and pull the high humidity out of the cabin. I did quite a bit of research on compressors before settling on this one, and (so far) I'm glad I did. It seems to be a high quality unit, well packaged, and looks nice, to boot. I was also pleased to find out that the unit was manufactured in the United States, as noted in another review and confirmed by the label. The attached photo shows the compressor installed in my Jeep engine (right side of photo near the red cap).

Denso is well known for building top quality parts and this AC compressor shows they are serious about their quality. Perfect fit and performance on a 1999 Jeep Cherokee. The oil specified on the body of the tag is SP15 which is PAG100. It comes with a full charge of oil so be sure to measure the about of oil removed from the old ac compressor and accumulator and do the proper system oil balance or your cooling efficiency will be compromised with the excess oil. One more thing, this AC Compressor is made in USA. While this compressor costs more than some, especially Chinese made compressors, it is well worth the cost. You won't regret spending the extra $s to get this top quality AC compressor.
