Integrative Therapeutics’ “Glutamine Forte,” at $7.39/ounce, costs $52.50 for 30 servings, while Essential Stacks’ “Gut L-glutamine,” at $2.70/ounce, costs $28.35 for 60 servings. Both have 5 gm L-glutamine per serving and are made by seemingly reputable companies. Assuming the quality of L-glutamine is the same in both supplements, why pay 4X the price for Glutamine Forte, when you can get L-glutamine for 1/4 the price? Yet this is exactly what I’ve been doing, though after trying the other product, it’s hard to rationalize. Glutamine Forte tastes good, is fun to drink and easy to stomach, first thing in the morning. The nutritionist said to drink it 30 minutes before eating protein. Gut L-glutamine, on the other hand, doesn’t taste like anything. More important, Glutamine Forte has 100 mg Theracurmin (water-dispersible turmeric) while Gut L-glutamine does not. Other turmeric supplements are too hard for my system to digest, while this is just fine. Other Integrative Therapeutics products (such as Pro-Som) have this ingredient, however, they’re also quite expensive. Still, Glutamine Forte, in order to taste good, has ingredients such as xylitol, maltose, dextrin and “natural flavors.” Those who’ve had trouble digesting it may be reacting to one of those, rather than the actual l-glutamine. Gut L-glutamine has no other added ingredients. Assuming you like the taste and have no sensitivities to the other ingredients, like me, you have to ask, “Is it worth it, to pay about $38/month to get a digestible turmeric supplement?” Would you be buying a turmeric supplement anyway? If the answer to both questions is yes, then this is your product! If not, then get the Gut L-glutamine, a perfectly decent product, which Amazon also sells.

Easy to use. Mixes well in water, and taste is okay. My doctor recommended for me to buy it for my gut health.

Very pleasant tasting and dissolves easily. Feels good going down - it's very soothing. I'm confident it's helping tremendously with leaky gut and inflammation of the gut. I do a lot of research before I purchase supplements, and I'm very happy with this product. It's worth the price.

This product was recommended by my Naturopath when I asked him about gastrointestinal issues for my 88 year old mother-in-law. We have been using it for her about 5 years now, and very satisfied. Product is easy to use and has a pleasant taste.

I had leaky gut syndrome. This stuff took care of it in 3 months of use. Be sure to use a probiotic (acid resistant) when you use it as it tends to cause bloating and gas. You will still probably get some gas but it is worth the trouble.
