Perfect for emulating, No issues, long battery life, excellent crisp screen. Get it, save money.
Update 11/20/24: Enter Winlator. Yes open source Windows emulator for Android. Again side load it, and then play actual PC games from the GOG (Good Old Games) store and now PC games on the go. Classic games work well, like RTSs and city builders and you can get some 3D games to work well on it too. Perfect for us low budget / right budget people wanting to game on the go. There are lists out there floating around of what 3D games work, so search around or ask on Reddit. Update 5/28/24: Switch emulation is hit or miss. Emu needs 8 GB of video ram to work correctly, and this device is detected as having 5.1gb. I can get wee tiny Roms to load and play, but forget the real deal stuff. However, Dolphin Emu works and looks amazing. Also the device charges slightly quicker but not by much without the controller attached. Original Review: At the going price of 250.00, and then add a 1TB U3 MicroSD card (not included, but costs 60ish bucks here) you can't beat this little bugger. I even purchased a case here for 20, and then screen protector (3 included) that is tempered scratch resistant glass for 8 bucks. I can't speak on the cloud stuff, because I could care less, but as far as emulation, this is a holy grail handheld. Boot up is quick, and after the updates everything is working flawless for me with no issues. All the release date kinks have all been fixed. It will emulate everything that RetroArch / Lemuroid states, which in my case I am using Lemuroid (Ad free, no purchase needed on Android app store). Lemuroid, is simple, clean and perfect and detects all the roms, and controls and you'll be gaming for say possibly 10 hours straight if your emulating classics and using low to normal lighting. Classics up to N64 / PS1 era and a few handhelds that came after. Now current consoles and handhelds like the 3DS PS2, and another that was taken down can also be emulated at like 4k, and they look unbelievable. However, the fan will kick on and the little beast will go into overtime, so you'll get about 5 hours of game time, instead of say 10. Reduce back to 1x rendering and you'll get about 7 hours. Download all your stuff from the Android app store, including your video subscription stuff and you'll be set. Citra, PS2 and Switch emus have to be sideloaded, which is pretty simple. Does videos and that lasts a long time too. Cannot do USB-C extras, like HDMI out, USB-C audio cable out, or an external drive with the controller attached. Controller attached you can only do power pass through. If doing the tablet straight, then yes to all the latter. Daughter and I connect to the TV via HDMI out and two bluetooth controllers and we are console gaming! Does not come with an AC adapter or lens cloth, which I found odd, but does have USB C to USB cable included. Man I used to commute from NYC to Woodbridge and back, and where was this handheld back then? It would have helped kill so much time. Worst part was missing the express and getting on the local. Worth every penny. Don't waste your money like I did on a bunch of retro handhelds from unknown makes that either work subpar, or have subpar controls and screens. Some can't even access the Android store. Some the battery or something else dies like a few months later. For the price of 250.00 it is a done deal and with Razer's reputation, you can't go wrong. Now get yourself one.

Well Done Razer!
First impressions, very nice. One main reason I chose this over other gaming devices like the Odin, is the fact it has removable controllers, so it can be used like an ordinary Android tablet without the extra bulk. The razer edge has a decent build, people have complained about the screen bezels being slightly large, but I don’t have a problem with it. I believe the larger bezels help with accidentally touching the edge of screen while gaming. As expected, having an oled screen it looks great, the higher than normal refresh rate is really good also. I will note, the fan is moderately loud after a bit of gaming, but not too loud it’s going to annoy someone. This also brings me to thermals, it does run quite hot due to the high power chip inside, and the screen does get quite hot on the left side, sometimes too hot to hold and touch. If you have the controller connected this isn’t an issue though cause you’re not touching the device itself. The inclusion of the 5mp front camera is also nice, it supports 60fps video even. But I don’t see myself using the camera. It’s also nice to see the feature of HDMI over USB-C, this allows it to function like a Nintendo switch, and connect it up to a TV or computer monitor. Game Performance: Genshin impact: Flawless Max Graphics Zenless Zone Zero: flawless max graphics Fortnite: Epic settings 60fps, slightly stuttery but high at 60fps worked really well. 3ds Wii, Wii U, Switch emulation: 3DS and Wii worked great, Wii U was ok quite laggy though, Switch emulation….not good. I was able to get into menus and things like that, but when I actually tried to get into the game, it just crashes. Really good handheld, well done razer!

Great and versatile handheld
It's a wonderful little handheld that's very mobile. Love the built-in fans. Not only do they kick in when you're gaming, but also when it charging. Batteries normally heat up during charging and can wear out quicker. So a cooler battery means a longer life. It's very quick and snappy. Just wish it came with more memory. 128GB is really not much and can fill rather quickly if you are downloading games instead of playing on the cloud. Also love the on-screen mapping tools. Provides versatile compatibility with the majority of Android games. Now the worst thing about this handheld is the rounded bezel. I have no clue how this got approved, but it's noticeable that the corners are cutoff. It's a very weird design choice considering the tablet has a very boxy design. The AMOLED display is bright and gorgeous. Everything is crisp and very colorful. It's even better than the 1440p OLED screen on my Pixel 7 Pro. Is it the ultimate gaming handheld like Razer claims? Absolutely not. You're limited to playing android games, emulators, and cloud gaming. If this Windows based handheld, it could very well be considered a good competitor in the high end handheld market. It's definitely worth the discounted $250 price tag imo.

Low Quality Tablet on a Decent Controller
Razer products are usually good but their tablet product is lacking for what describe as a gaming product. The resolution of the display is odd and most games have black bars to adjust for this. Games consistently crash. And the worst part was the light bleed on the edges. While I really enjoy the Kiishi controller, the tablet is severely lacking.

Decent Little Tablet, Controller Knocks It Down A Bit
So I picked this up because it was an Android tablet with some decent gaming chops and battery life. So the battery life is on par with most other Android tablets out there and can last longer if you turn down your display. I've mainly been using this for game streaming, Android gaming and retro gaming where this thing is a pretty decent beast. Honestly if you can get this on sale and then pick up a different controller, you will be very happy with it. The controller is the only weak point as if you leave it connected to the controller, it will die in hours. I also use this for business when I am out and traveling and it is nice having a secondary tablet to my phone while I am out working.

A Great Solution to a Problem That Doesn't Exist
First off if you aren't too worried about price and don't want a device the size of a Steam Deck that only plays games, then this is the one to buy. I'll explain. On the surface this is a portable gaming tablet that can handle just about anything on the play store. I'm sure it can handle any mobile game but I haven't played hardly any. If you dig deeper, this is an entertainment powerhouse. Now the problem is, so is your phone. If you are an Android user, I'm sure any newish phone could load up emulators, stream AAA games from xbox cloud or PS Remote play, and handle mobile titles. The reason this is a win for me is 1) I'm an iPhone user, 2) this can play up to PS2 emulation flawlessly and upscale them which works well with the screen size and color profile, 3) this is a separate device dedicated to killing time so it's only as available as I want it to be. Number 3 is kind of the big win for me. Your phone is generally always with you. The Edge is an accessory. If you game on your phone, you'll kill that battery in a couple of hours. If you're sitting around on a charger then no problem. If not, then you have a few choices to make. I'm not a big gamer, maybe 4 hours a week, mostly because it's time I could be sitting with the family (while everyone is on their phones anyways). Now instead of sitting in front of the xbox or PS5 in my home office, I grab the Edge and go chill with my lady while she watches Housewives and when I get lost in what's going on, I jump on the Edge....still just as lost. Then when I don't want the option, I don't bring it. Another big use case is for travel. I can play games, watch movies I loaded on a SD card, stream Netflix and alllll the other services on it, do internet things, and all that while I'm in the airport and on planes. Same things you normally do on a phone but I don't have to worry about charging my phone every time I sit down. THEN I can take the controller off and use the tablet portion as a standalone at work and/or play. USB C video out, screen mirror, powerful enough to run virtual desktops, transfer files, MS Office, and so on. Again, things your phone can do but this is a generous screen size with great visuals, decent battery life, and you don't have to sacrifice your main driver (cell phone) to moonlight as a personal entertainment device. No one NEEDS this or any other portable gaming system but if you WANT one and want something that is more than a one trick pony, this might be the best solution. Steam Decks and those rivals are more polished and better for strictly cloud gaming. The cheaper android emulators from Retrodroid are amazing. Bought one for my spouse who wasn't a gamer until she played with a Retro Pocket 3. Those are only really going to scratch that itch for emulation and mobil games with a smaller, less refined screen and permanent controls attached. Also $100 cheaper but it's built for one purpose. Similar story with the Odin Pro 2. Great for gaming, probably better than this but permanent controls attached so it's a little out of place outside of gaming but its $100-$250 more expensive. Final point, this is a total unnecessary purchase so either you're into gimmicky tech or not. This isn't a gimmick but not something thats going to blow your mind. It's all in how you use it. Im going to "watch" Housewives and play Far Cry 6 now lol. It plays Far Cry in HD perfectly with the xbox cloud app BTW. Better than my iPhone 15 Pro Max on the same wifi they start off just about the same but my phone starts to drop resolution then drop frames while the Edge seems to buffer up then settle at high res and stay.

Not the best, and not quite worth it
Let me start off by saying that the razor edge is absolutely positively hilariously NOT the ultimate gaming handheld for android. That is false advertisement on razors part. And it is not for everyone. I will try to keep this simple as possible. I am an android gamer and I’ve had all the android consoles since the ouya released in 2013. Razor marketed this device poorly and everything that it does can be done on any android device. The controller is great but does not require the edge to be used. The tablet itself is very fast and has a refresh rate that can changed 60hz 90hz 120hz 144hz But not every android game will work properly when running at high refresh rates For example (Zombie catchers from deca games won’t play properly at anything over 60hz) The oled screen is beautiful and colors pop on it But if your using the tablet for streaming The refresh rate won’t be much use to you. The aspect ratio is 20:9 which is ok cause most phones have that but when streaming you’ll have black bars on the left and right. And when outputting video through usb the aspect ratio is the same which is very disappointing. The key mapper is pretty good but only works with the razor kishi controller and requires you to add your games to the razor nexus app in order to use the virtual controller. It is important to know that not every game will allow you to use the virtual controller. The SD card port is one of those crap ones that requires a tiny needle in order to open and for some reason and this is important “YOU CANNOT FORMAT THE SD CARD AS TABLET STORAGE” only as external storage I don’t know why razor decided to do that but it’s stupid and especially so seeing as they say it’s the ultimate android handheld. Overall if you are looking for a dedicated android gaming device I cannot recommend that you buy the razor edge, you’d be much better off buying an Odin Pro which is cheaper that the edge and features an amazing keymapper that you can use on any game and with any controller you want Simply put the only reason to buy the edge is if you really really want the oled screen with 144hz

So far it's awesome, with potential to be even better.
Bought this primarily for emulation, and the Razer Edge knocks it out of the park. If you want a budget friendly handheld console that will handle PS2 emulation, this is it. People who complain about the aspect ratio should get over it and buy one of those little RG units with a 3.5" screen (I'm planning to buy an portable monitor for SNES/GameCube etc, you can get a 15" portable screen for $50 this will plug right into, so for $250 you have one of the best hardware profiles in a handheld android easily the best in this price range, plus an extra 15" screen. The Edge has desktop mode btw, I mean really). This is the best bang for your buck hardware wise, and most of the complaints folks have (like xfat) have been addressed. I've been using mine for several days and love it. The screen is beautiful and plenty bright, the speakers sound great, and the Kishi Pro controller is super comfy and pleasant to use. There's also a nice silicone case on Amazon for $15 that makes the Edge look like a normal all-in-one which I have ordered.

Fast Delivery! Thank You! But This Only If It's On Sale!
Quite an under-rated Android gaming handheld. Very capable of running most modern Android games and emulation up to PSvita, PS2 and Wii. Steamlink & Moonlight runs ok although you'll need strong WiFi connection. I'd use it as regular tablet for YouTube and e-books. I gotta say buy it only if it's on sale or if you can find a decent 2nd hand one for under USD200 as the G3X Gen 1 chip is quite old now.
