Must read for any Rangers , islanders fan
Great read. It really goes into the history of each franchise, although I feel that the book details the 70/80's teams more then the 90's/2000's teams. Granted, the rivalry was at its peak in the 70/80's.

One of best sports rivalries ever.
If you have followed this rivalry to any degree, especially from ‘79-89, this will bring back many memories.

is like watching a CNN reporter interview Hillary Clinton
The only thing stopping a 5 star rating is the author of the book, Stan Fischler. It's because of him that I almost didn't even buy the book in the first place. His biased "reporting" on all things Islanders, and where it concerns the Rangers, is like watching a CNN reporter interview Hillary Clinton; the truth is either stretched, changed or just avoided altogether. Where the Rangers jumped an Islander from behind, tripped, hooked, sucker punched, etc., the Islanders were always the innocent victims against the aggressor/instigator NY Rangers. Blinders are even used for Duane Sutter & Mick Vukota, two of the slimiest players to lace them up in their time. However, if you care about the history of the NY Rangers and some of the key moments, great players, and names from the past, it's worth the read and do what I did, shake your head and chuckle at Fischler's bias.
