Fun item! No need to buy a card to put a gift card or money in it, the card box is great! I just stuck a bow on the box and handed the gift. People gathered around the gift receiver to cheer them on as they tried to complete the puzzle. Will definitely order more of them.

There was a crack on it when I got it, other than that it works as intended.

In my opinion, this is a very fun and unique toy. Solving the maze was really easy and I got it on my first try because I just wanted to try it after I my son put the Amazon gift card makes. It works really well and I have not had any issues after I solved it a couple times. But the part when you finish the maze and you have to push the ball through to open the latch was a little bit confusing a first. Overall, I really think this is a great design and it will be a good gift for people that like puzzles and mazes.

I use these for birthdays and holiday gift giving. There's a space for a store gift card or you can just fold a bill in half and tuck it inside. The recipient can see their reward, but they have to work the steel ball through the maze and trip the latch to open the door. And they didn't make it easy, which is why these are so great. And once the puzzle is solved and the prize removed, it can then be reused. The quality is right where it needs to be and they make a great gift for teens and adults alike.

The basic idea is fine, but the execution leaves much to be desired. Not all six units in the box I ordered would function; that is, the doors wouldn't open on three of them despite trying those that initially failed to open another two times each by running the ball around the maze. One of the three failed units actually turned out to work---sort of. The spring door-opening mechanism on two of them would not work at all, but this third one actually would crack the door slightly open but not all the way open. Carefully inserting a small screwdriver in the slightly opened doorway would pop it all the way open. This clearly is no good as a gift, so three, or 50%, were functionally unusable. I realized, based on this experience, that to return the original six and get six new replacements would almost certainly leave me with at least one, and probably more, of these six replacement units that would not work. Best just to order six more and hope to get a total of six functional units out of the now 12 units I would have, and then return the failed six. That's what I did, except I decided to order 12 more, not six, just to be sure. Because I lucked out and managed to get a total of 12 functional units out of the 18 I had ultimately ordered, I decided to be fair to the system about it and keep an extra six for future use (I need only five right at the moment), returning only six of the 18, all six nonfunctional. A one-third failure rate is not anything to brag about, I'd say. Had I ordered box after box rather than doing it this way, I'd likely never have gotten six at the same time that worked and would be returning and reordering from now until doomsday. Unless you want to go through such acrobatics, you may want to think hard before ordering these.

I bought the 6 pack to gift my nieces & nephews gift cards for Christmas with a fun twist. I didn’t have to assemble them at all and they all worked great! I tested them out after reading reviews before putting gift cards into them. The maze isn’t hard to solve but I still think it will be fun for the kids. They are all under the age of 14 so I think they’ll enjoy it!

Christmas brings out the best in most folks. I'm not one of them. I love to watch someone solve a riddle in order to get a gift or a clue to get them closer to their gift. Like a very, very, very low budget National Treasure movie, basically without all the travel, bad guys, or Nick Cage. OK, I'm off topic. I picked up a couple of these to place gift cards in for my nephew and daughter. They love Roblox so if they wanted their Robux, then they would have to really work hard for those bad boys. In hindsight, I should have just handed them the cards just to watch them disappear into the abyss that's my daughter's bedroom for hours of peace and quiet.... wait, I mean for wholesome family time. First and foremost, the cards didn't fit which was a bad start. The ball that goes through the maze hits a couple of spots where the door isn't level and the ball sticks. This causes an issue with moving through to the correct path. After 4 attempts, I just broke it. Yes, I'll admit that I wasn't happy with my purchase. I got the second one to open after using a paper clip to pry open the door. I attempted to use it with a Best Buy card, and you wouldn't believe that the card didn't fit either. It wouldn't close the door because the card was too thick. The idea is good, but the product can do with some revision to help align the door better. I mean, how can I torment those I love, if the products I use aren't up to snuff.

These were a fun way to give a gift card but two out of the six would not open so were useless.
