This book is so nicely designed. I just love the illustrations. Very folksy. And the information is organized very nicely.

I typically don’t buy books anymore but I stumbled upon this little gem at the Audabon Society gift store in Maryland. This book is such a treasure. It actually makes me feel at peace. I love to leisurely flip through the pages which have stunningly beautiful art work depicting each herb. The artwork reminds me of wall paper, each illustration unique. I plan on purchasing more and giving away as Christmas gifts.

Beautiful book. Delightful illustrations with interesting copy and easy to find particulars (how to grow, what food it complements and medicinal properties) found conveniently in a sidebar. If you're looking for in depth information, this is not the book for you, but if you want a nice overview, it fits the bill.

A stunning book I gave as a gift to an accomplished artist, purely for the beauty of the cover and quality of the paper. The wonderful content is a bonus. I only wish I had bought two--one for our home.

The fourth star is for presentation. I suppose if you would just like to get familiar with the names of some herbs/plants/etc. and what they are then this would be great. There are no photos, only cute representations. I actually got this from a library and loved the art so much that I bought one! I have plenty of actual in-depth herbal references, so if you do as well, then this is just another to add to the collection. I'm sure I'll use it since I like to cross reference many sources when whipping something up. It's a nice book to have it's just a book for a complete novice or one with only a casual interest.

Love this book. Very interesting and slightly stark but colourful (if that makes sense) book about herbs. I like the author/illustrator's approach though. Something different in the world of herb books. Nice work!
