Philips 1000 Series Fabric Shaver, Rechargeable, USB, Safe on Garments

At last, a de-bobbler that WORKS!I’ve bought so many of the usual shape battery powered ones over the years and they’ve all been rubbish.I’ve waited a couple of months to try it out before writing a review, and I can say this is really effective, easy to use and safe on more delicate thin-knit jumpers as well as chunkier ones. Really happy I can keep my favourite sweaters looking fresh so easily and quickly.It’s great that it’s rechargeable, saving money and waste buying & throwing away batteries.An excellent product!

I bought this because several of my jumpers had really bad pilling, and since then I've been using it on every bobbly item I own. Synthetic, wool, cashmere — it handles them all without damaging the fabric, which is honestly the most important thing.Does it work? Yes. Is it fast? Absolutely not.Stubborn bobbles need multiple passes, and if you're dealing with open-knit or lace-stitch jumpers, you'll need to go over the same area quite a few times. Tightly-knit jumpers are much quicker. I spent about 25 minutes on one particularly bad jumper, so don't expect speed.I've tried faster fabric shavers in the past, and they nearly always caught threads and ruined my garments. This one doesn't. It's slow and gentle, which means it's safe. I've actually started treating it as an oddly relaxing activity — switch off your brain, listen to the white noise, and just focus on the action. Not something you want to do when you're in a rush, though.The practicalities: it's compact, very light, rechargeable via USB (no annoying batteries), and the charge lasts a long time. It's also quite quiet. It comes with a small brush to help with cleaning, which is useful because the container is on the small side and fills up quickly, so you'll be emptying it often.Two annoyances: the lid is difficult to open, and you need to be careful not to use too much force or you might break it. Also, it's not the most comfortable to hold for long periods, which matters when you're spending 20+ minutes on one item.Bottom line: it does the job well and doesn't damage fabric, which is the main thing. It's a bit overpriced given the small container and fiddly lid, but if you want something safe and effective for bringing tired knitwear back to life, this works.

What a fantastic little device. I had a hoodie that had gone through a wash on too high of a temp and was pretty much ruined, covered in bobbles and pulls. It took over an hour doing a small square at a time, but the hoodie looks brand new now. I'm really impressed.

Highly recommend this item. Does what is says on the tin. Better than other similar products which seem to fail after a little while. Battery life is brilliant also.

It works but took some time to clear my wide "woolly" scarf. Had to recharge the battery to finish it.The instructions were next to useless, the line drawings aren't that helpful, so I looked online, that's no better!It was recommended by Which, so I dread to think what some of the other fabric shavers were like, Which are usually so good in their recommendations.It's quite an odd shadow and not that comfortable to hold, and getting the top of isn't easy, thank goodness someone had said in a review that you have to line up the line that's over the charging socket, I'll try that when it's recharged.I'm just waiting for it to recharge now so that I can go and finish my scarf, I want to wear it tomorrow!Tried to charge the Fabric Shaver and it won't charge! Great!! Now I need to contact them to see what I do next! VERY ANNOYING!

Wow this is the best fabric defuzzer I’ve ever used and I felt compelled to write this review.What can I say! It does exactly the job and has brought back to life a good few jumpers that I thought would need to go in the bin because they had so much pilling.I came across this model via a review of fabric shavers on Good Housekeeping magazine’s website, this came top of their testing and I understand exactly why. Any products I’ve used before have been hard work for little result.Teeny items to note:- It is a little stiff to remove the clear bin cover (might just be my technique).- I have had to empty the bin half way between working on each jumper, but in future I’ll just do touch ups after each wear.- And because I was defuzzing a few jumpers this evening, I had to recharge it part way.Definitely not criticisms, this is such a fab product!(Look at the photos attached, hopefully you can see what I mean. P.S. one photo shows the gadget open and the lint removed from another jumper I had a go at defuzzing part way between working on the jumper in the photo, hence it’s a light shade of blue to the jumper in the pic.)

Works well. Is quite easy to use and empty. Haven’t yet used it enough to check battery life. A fair price.

Really good and gets all the bobbles off cashmere and acrylic jumpers so they look revived. Easy to recharge, loads of battery charge. Only issue was it was quite difficult to get the top off to empty. Managed to solve that so all good

Works exceptionally.Hint: use a rounded ball or headphones case just under the area you work on. This speeds up the process 400%.

Dieser Fussel Rasierer ist der beste den ich bisher hatte.Rasiert zuverlässig alle Fusseln in zwei unterschiedlichen Höhen. Die niedrige Stufe erreicht man, indem der äußeren Ring abgenommen wird. (Achtung, das Kleidungsstück muss bei der kurzen Schnitthöhe ganz flach und Faltenfrei aufliegen, sonst schneidet man Löcher hinein)Der Auffangbehälter ist etwas schwer abzunehmen, da er ziemlich fest sitzt, das mindert aber nicht meine positive Bewertung. Reinigung ist einfach.Akku hält sehr lange und ist über USB aufladbar.Klare Kaufempfehlung.
