August 2024 - This is more of a preview of my review as I have just bought this item and won't start using it until late September probably. I live in Minnesota and the air in the winter time is super dry and I use a humidifier in my 900 sq ft condo from late September until early April to battle all the issues that come with dry air. The last several years I've been using the 6 gallon Airfare humidifier and it has been a workhorse - very effective, super simple design however I've always been on the look out for a more attractive looking, more functional humidifier with maybe a little bit of tech involved and that also had a 4-6 gallon tank - very hard to find - however I think this item will fit the bill. I probably use 2-3 gallons of water in the dead of winter every day in a humidifier to keep my home humidity in the 35-45% range. My very initial thoughts on this product are - great design and build. Super simple set up. The app worked fine - it found the device and connected to it with no issue. The fan is whisper quiet on level 1 - and still very quiet on level 2. Even on level 1 and 2 the fan output upwards seem very good - moving a lot of air. I will update this review with more detail in a couple months with more detail once I actually start to use it. OCTOBER 2024 - UPDATE I have finally been able to begin using this humidifier regularly now that the weather and temps have gotten cooler and the air drier in the Minneapolis area. I am really liking this humidifier, it works well. Probably the one thing I appreciate is that the fan directs the air out of the device straight up - so it hits the room ceiling and spreads out - so it really helps circulate the moist air, in fact all the air in the room efficiently. I love the 'night mode' as the fan just runs at a very low speed all night - the display turns off and it just provides a constant level of humidity all night. I move the humidifier into my bedroom at night. The fan speed is low and there is no noise that I can hear from the fan. I'm also able to set up a schedule in the app so it goes into night mode automatically every night at 10:00 p.m. and another schedule sets it to 'auto' mode in the morning. The app also tracks the humidity level and fan speed so you can see the history of your room humidity. The wheels are a great feature but if you have 5-6 gallons of water and try to move it on carpet good luck - they just don't work - you need to grab the lip of the tank and lift it up a bit to move it on the wheels on carpet - but on hard surfaces it moves fine. Overall still like this humidifier a lot - provides a little bit of technology to a basically simple device which is what I like. The display is gorgeous and the overall look of this humidifier looks like something Apple would design. DECEMBER 2024 UPDATE We are now in the middle of winter here in Minnesota. The air is very dry. The dewpoint ranges from 0 to 20° so the outdoor air is very dry and the humidifier is running very regularly in my one bedroom condominium. This is one of the reasons I really need a humidifier with a large 5 to 6 gallon capacity otherwise I would be filling the humidifier up way too often as it is with these conditions. I’m using 5 to 6 gallons of water once every 24 to 36 hours. I’m still really loving this humidifier. It’s probably the most attractive looking humidifier on the market so it adds to your home overall look the efficiency of it and the connection to the app on your phone are great and it has been working flawlessly with no issues. As noted it uses a lot of water this time of year where I live so I do have to fill it up once every 1 to 2 days and during that time I use the opportunity to do some light cleaning on the device. Typically, I will take some Lysol bleach spray and spray it into the empty water tank area. Let it sit for a couple minutes before rinsing it out with hot water, drying it with a towel and then refilling it with clean water. I’ll also wipe down the moisture that accumulates around the top portion. One of my initial concerns with this device was that it was not using a bacteriostat treatment in the water, but I’m not seen that as an issue now as I just spend a few extra minutes making sure I clean the device when refilling the water tank. The one minor complaint I have about the device is I am noticing that when the water tank gets low, there are some droplets of water that drip from the top portion where the fan is down into the water tank so you can hear a drip drip drip sound, however when the water tank is more full, those droplets don’t have as far to fall so you don’t hear that dripping sound. This is not really an issue unless the device is near your bed. It may bother you, but if it’s in another room if not an issue when you’re sleeping I did replace the filters after two months of use. I probably could have gotten more use out of them, but I just wanted to replace them regardless and anticipate that I will replace them 2 to 3 times over a six month period in the winter months when I’m using the device. The only other minor complaint I have about the device is at times the fan speed will kick up to a very high level as it’s trying to raise the humidity level to the point it wants to, and that loud fan noise can be a little distracting however I can quickly change the setting via the phone on my app or walk over to it and change the setting to reduce the fan speed if it becomes bothersome to me, which is rare. JANUARY 2025 Well we are in the middle of a very cold snap here in Minnesota - temps in single digits and the dew point is around 0 degrees. So super dry air outdoors and the humidifier is using 5-6 gallons of water per day - I typically fill it up every night but I'm feeling cozy and comfortable in my one bedroom condo. I do feel that the 'night mode' puts the fan speed at a nice low level for sleeping however I'm not sure it is enough to properly keep my condo at the level of humidity I want so sometimes I put it on manual mode with fan speed at level 2. I'm also figuring out a good cleaning regimen every time I fill it with water - I have some Clorox Multi Surface Cleaner and Bleach spay bottle - I just empty the water tank and spray the inside of the water resovoir with the bleach spray and let it sit for a couple minutes then use my kitchen faucet hose to simply rinse out the tank and dry it quick before refilling. I do notice that at some point there is some pink or yellow build up in the middle section where the filters are so periodically I remove the filters - again, spray the plastic area with the bleach, let it sit for a minute then rinse and wipe it down before replacing the filters. This of course is normal with standing water in a device when no chemicals are used to inhibit this growth but the overall cleaning effort is minimal and it's designed in a way to make it easy to clean these surfaces. FEBRUARY 2025 - updating this again in late January 2025 as I did a cleaning session on this item and noticed some pink slime build-up in the middle plastic section - the portion that covers the water tank - there are some nooks and crannies that aren't easily reachable and I had to remove the 4 screws that hold the two pieces together that allowed me to get in there and clean it more deeply. I did notice a little pink buildup inside the hose for the water tank - I'm not sure how I'll clean that - hoping the citric acid will help remove that as directed in the cleaning instructions. FEBRUARY 2026 - This is another update to my reviews - I've now been using this humidifier for two full winters now in Minneapolis. I've early February so maybe I'll be using this for a good 30-45 days now before we are into spring the the air is not as dry. however - my experience over these last two winters has been great - the device has had no issues - works just as well as it did day one. I usually replace the filters about 3 times each winter about 45-60 days apart. I guess my only annoyance is that the air is so dry in winter here that I have to refill the tank every night - it will use 6 gallons of water per day! but that is one of the reasons I bought this particular item - is the large tank - if it was any smaller I'be be refilling it even more times per day! We just went though a very cold two week period in Minnesota and it was running all day long keeping my 800 sq condo perfectly humidified around 45-50%. My skin is so thankful! The device is easy to clean and maybe once a week I remove the filters and spay the filter holder with spray bleach and let it sit for a minute before washing and wiping it down to keep it clean. Highly recommend this item.

I've been using this humidifer for 1-2 months, and it is by far the best humidifier I've ever owned. Why? I'm glad you asked: -First and foremost, it's the only humidifier I've found that can actually humidify our ENTIRE HOUSE. No others have even come close. Thus, the output on it is excellent. It has been able to maintain a 40-45% humidity level, even in very cold, dry weather. -It has a large water tank (6 gallons) to match the large output, which means that I have to fill it up less often. Depending on how much it runs, I have to refill it every one to three days. That's pretty reasonable. -The filters sit ABOVE the water tank rather than IN the water tank, and the filters are kept wet with a pump. This keeps the filters in better shape, and they seem less likely to have nasty growth than other humidifiers I've had where the filters sit in the water. -You have the option to dry out the filters whenever you would like. Essentially, the humidifier will run the fan but turn off the water pump. In a short period of time, the filters will be dry. This is an absolutely critical feature if you do not plan to run the humidifier all of the time! -It keeps the humidity reasonably close to the percent that I choose. If I choose 40%, for example, it typically keeps the humidity between 37% and 43% on the same floor (and slightly lower on other floors of the house). -Considering how much water it puts out, it's pretty quiet. On the low fan speed, I can't even hear it. On medium, it's just quiet background noise. On high, it's a bit louder but not overwhelmingly loud (about the same as a fan on high). -The humidifier seems well designed and thought out. There are a lot of extra features, like sleep mode, a display off feature, etc. -Considering the size, it's a pretty attractive humidifier. Sleek and modern. I have a family member who has another type of console humidifier, and let's just say ... this one looks much better. Unlike some other reviewers have mentioned, I have not run into any problems at all with any bacterial/mold growth in the tank or on the filters. Here are some tips that I think have helped me out: -Before refilling the tank, empty it out, rinse, and start fresh EVERY TIME. This is critical! -The manufacturer recommends that the water is changed at least every three days. I've never let a tank of water sit for longer than that. If you find that a tank of water is lasting more than three days, I would dump it out, rinse, start fresh, and maybe add a little less water next time. -I'm not sure how long the filters/wicks will last yet, but I've been using the same filters for 1-2 months with no problems. The filters look a little worn from water deposits, but they still work pretty well and do not have any bad smells. With that said, the manufacturer is probably overexaggerating the filter lifespan a bit. You can expect that the filters/wicks will wear out over time. The benefit of this type of humidifier (evaporative) is that impurities from your tap water are trapped in the filter. An ultrasonic humidifier, on the other hand, disperses all of those impurities into the air, which is why I would never use an ultrasonic humidifier. Better to have those impurities in the filters than in your lungs! If you are not going to be using the humidifier for a period of time, then it would be a good idea to use the dry setting to dry them out. Regularly changing the water in the tank, as described above, should also help. Other than that, you just have to factor the cost of changing the filters every so often into the total cost of operating the unit. How long your filters last will probably depend on several factors such as how hard your tap water is, but in my area the water is "moderately hard," and the filters are still going after 1-2 months. -I would ignore the humidity levels that are recommended by the manufacturer—they are too high. In most areas, you probably should not keep the humidity level any higher than 35-45%, depending on the outdoor temperature. Keeping it too high can lead to condensation and mold growth. You can find charts online that help guide you on this. In short, this humidifier is the only one I've found that can actually cover our entire house—for that alone, I would be tempted to give it 5 stars! However, in addition to this, it seems to be well-designed and has a number of helpful features. If you need something to cover a large space, and you do not want to install a whole house humidifier on your furnace, then this is an option that you have to try!

Let me start by saying this is an excellent humidifier! It does an incredible job of keeping my ~1,000 sqft. 2BR apartment humidified. I'm extremely satisfied with how effectively it will humidify my place that can get as low as 15-20% without humidification. Now, the area for improvement: The improvement could really come from Auto Mode on the Vesync app and how it integrates with the smart features of the humidifier. An unfortunate flaw with the Auto Mode is that it does not allow you to select your own preferred humidity level. It has 2 settings (home and away). The humidity level of these settings are dependent on the ambient temperature in the room as read by the humidifier, which always is about 5F degrees lower (most likely because wherever the sensor is on the unit is being influenced by the damp cooler air coming out of the machine). In my opinion, this falsely causes the humidifier to run at the 60% humidity level on the "home" setting for Auto or 55% setting for "away." Personally, that's a bit more humidity than I'd like to have in my place with nighttime outside temps in the teens Fahrenheit already in December. It just causes too much condensation on the windows. I'd prefer that I could manually "set it and forget it" on the Auto Mode at 50% and minimize the window condensation. By no means is this a deal breaker, but it's definitely an area of improvement the app developers should do to the auto mode where it's selectable by the user instead of having default humidity levels based off the incorrect ambient temperature. I have reached out to the company to see if this is something their developers could work on, so hopefully they'll be open to the feedback. Looking at some of the few reviews that there are so far, it seems like there are others that share my thoughts. The app and humidifier do have a function where you can manually select the humidity level you'd prefer and it will maintain that level. I'd liken this to a hybrid manual/auto mode. The only caveat here is that you have to set your own fan speed and it's either on or off. It doesn't cycle through lower or higher speeds to just maintain your desired humidity level like an auto mode would. I've found myself using this feature since the auto mode is just unreliable with the temperature readings influencing the auto humidity levels defaulted by the software. My Levoit 300S humidifier's auto mode setting is perfect from the Vesync app, so I'm hoping the developers will create an option for a user-selected auto mode and then the 6000S will be perfect. I still rated it 5 stars because it does everything it's designed to do extremely well. The manual does say that Auto Mode will maintain 50% if not connected to the Vesync app (which would solve all my auto-mode woes because all I want to do is set the thing to 50%) but I'm a bit of a tech geek and love data, so I'd prefer to keep the capability of monitoring everything remotely while I'm away just to ensure everything's working correctly. For anyone who made it this far in my review, don't let what I've mentioned discourage you from buying the unit. I think this could be a pretty simple software/firmware fix if it were something enough people requested and found to be somewhat problematic with the current app and humidifier settings. Even despite the auto mode issues, the app and unit itself has tons of functionality that really make it a great product! Albeit a bit expensive, but I have faith it will last quite a long time. Seems to be well-built, overall and I have not have had any leakage issues like some others have mentioned in their reviews.

I have gas heat, and that means very dry air in the house during cold weather. Over the years, I've had perhaps half a dozen large, floor standing humidifiers, most of them from Aircare. This humidifier from Levoit is easily the best one I've ever had. It's easy to fill. Unlike the others, the mechanism easily comes off so that you're only filling the tank. It comes with a hose that adapts to most faucets. That also allows you to easily dump the small amount of water after it shuts off. If your tap water is as bad as mine, that water will have a tinge to it (greenish in my case) because this humidifier filters the water as it takes if from the tank. It holds a cheap, foam filter that you change about once a month. That filter sits in a small intake that dangles down into the water tank. This arrangement means you don't need to add bacteriostat liquid. Water doesn't sit in it forever because you empty it out every time you fill it. Just run it until it stops, empty the tank, rinse it, and refill it. It holds over six gallons, and in my house that lasts almost exactly 24 hours when it's cold outside. It keeps the relative humidity in the low forties. The evaporative elements are in the top and easily replaceable. My other humidifiers required me to basically disassemble the humidifier and empty it to replace the evaporation filters, because those filters sat inside the water in the tank. For the Levoit, those evaporative elements sit in a mechanism above the tank, and are easy to replace even when there's water in the tank. Since the water is prefiltered coming out of the tank, these evaporative filters mostly just build up calcium carbonate (lime) if you have tap water like mine. They last for about two months of use in my case, and you can tell when they need to be changed because you can see the calcium granules on the outside of them. It's not the quietest humidifier I've had, but it's not bad. Controls are easy to understand. It rolls around easily, and the top is easily removable to separate from the tank when you need to roll the tank somewhere to fill it. My house is big enough that it really needs two humidifiers and I've been running one of my old ones at the other end of the house. After this winter is over, I'll likely retire my clunky, old humidifier and get another of these. It's just so much better.

*ONE YEAR LATER* and no regrets! It’s still running great! We purchased last winter because our house was SO. DRY. We have a ranch so our main living area, kitchen, and 3 bedrooms are all on one floor. I placed it centrally in our hallway by our cold air return vent and it had worked great. We also will move it to our vaulted master bedroom when we are sick so we can turn the humidity up for a few days while we fight coughs or upper respiratory illnesses. Here are the highlights: -included hose attachment for kitchen sink to fill is easy to use and filling the tank is easy -there’s an app that’s lets you control remotely, and it monitors humidity levels and “filter life”. -you can use tap water, no white dust (I do find I need to replace the filter more often than suggested because we have pretty hard water but I’d rather use tap water and replace filters more often than use filtered water.) -the higher rated off brand filters work just as well, again their life might be slightly less than name brand but the savings is still worth it in my opinion. -has a night mode that’s quieter and the lighted display “goes to sleep” -has a dry mode (use it diligently) -easy to clean -great customer service! when the pump wouldn’t pull water after we pulled it out of summer storage levoit customer service was quick and SO helpful to get it working again with multiple troubleshooting options with clear and concise instructions. Got it working again right away! NOTES FOR BUYERS: -be diligent to care for your unit and it will take care of you! Don’t mess with allowing humidifiers to sit unclean with moisture. 🤢 -DRY cycle (I run it twice for a total of 60min) every 24-36hrs. -dump, wipe down, and rinse the main bucket every time you have to add water or every 48hrs -deep clean every week would be ideal but it’s usually every 2-3 weeks for our busy household. Remove filters and use a water and vinegar mix and a cloth to wipe down every piece of the unit that gets wet. Allow to dry fully and reassemble. (It has a recommendations for a clean cycle that I didn’t see until this month 🙃 so I did have some pink build up in the hose this winter so I purchased a long flexible “straw brush” to clean it out, I don’t think it would have been needed if I had been running a clean cycle per their recommendations from the beginning. Finer details if you’re still reading: - In the winter I had to refill about every 24hrs, if I missed refilling I could really tell the difference after about 6-8hrs. So it was definitely doing its job! -We live in Iowa and only use this until from about November until March. Then the humidity is back up to a consistent level we don’t have to run a humidifier anymore and we use our smaller ones for when someone’s sick during those months. Before putting away we clean thoroughly and allow it to sit out disassembled and dry for 24hrs before putting it away. - If it does sit unused for an extended period of time sometimes the lack of water in the pump means you have to do a special sequence to get it pulling water again (what I mentioned above, levoits customer service helped right away and we EASILY got it running again.) - IF you don’t run the dry cycles and keep on top of emptying and wiping down before refilling the filters can get smelly. -I’d say the units read on humidity level it reads is accurate right by the unit but for the rest of house further away it is lower. I usually set it for 5% more than what I want.

*UPDATE: I am lowering the stars from 5 to 4 Here are the two primary reasons why: 1. I need a handle or something to grab on the lower reservoir Sometimes, I want to fill the tank fast, so I use my bathtub to do so. However, it is really, really hard for me to lift the full water tank from the bathtub and put it on the floor, as the plastic material of the tank has nothing for me to grab onto. I know we have an easier way of filling the tank using the tube, but I have overfilled and flooded my bedroom twice as I was not paying attention. It is painful to clean the water in your carpet, so please ALWAYS pay attention when filling using the tube provided. Flooding my bedroom is my mistake; I do not blame the humidifier. 2. Water Dripping Sound at Night: I have roommates, so putting the humidifier in my bedroom is my only option. The fan is quiet at night and won’t disturb you from sleeping, which is good. However, even when I put the humidifier in night mode, I can hear water dripping from the top compartment to the lower water tank, which sounds loud at night. I can’t sleep with the sound of water dripping, especially when the water level is low; the sound is obvious to me. It should be fine if you put the humidifier in another room. I investigated and found huge water beads on the plastic panel attached to the upper compartment, which drips down to the tank. If you mind a water dripping sound or can’t go to sleep with any noise, don't put it in your bedroom or consider alternative options. However, the humidifier still performs well and is efficient. Functionally, it is worth a FIVE star, but with the two issues I mentioned, I think it still requires some improvements. *Initial Review Living in the dry Midwest, I replaced my old Levoit ultrasonic humidifier after discovering mold and learning about potential lung hazards from water particles. This led me to explore safer options. I was only considering Levoit or a German brand, as other brands are ugly-looking, in my opinion. I settled on the Levoit Superior 6000S, their first evaporative humidifier. Not only was it more affordable than its German counterpart (priced at $249 versus $500+), but my positive experience with Levoit's air purifier also influenced my decision. *First Impressions: Stylish Exterior, Underwhelming Interior The humidifier boasts a sleek, modern design that fits well in any room. However, the internal components, particularly the fan, feel cheap. They remind me of something you'd find at a budget store. *Setup and Operation: Simple Yet Effective The setup is straightforward. The system pumps water from a reservoir to the top, trickling down through filters. As air passes through these moist filters, it picks up moisture and is expelled, humidifying the room. The process is essentially middle school physics, but it's impressively efficient. *Performance: Exceeds Expectations I heard that evaporative humidifiers require longer to improve humidity than ultrasonic ones. I tested it in my 500 sqft apartment (though it's rated for 3000 sqft) and was amazed. The humidifier increased humidity from 27% to 50% in under two hours, even with a window open. At its lowest setting, it's pretty enough. Even if I put it 5 feet from my bed, I can still go to sleep, and it maintains the humidity at 50% at its lowest fan speed easily. (Note: with my bedroom door closed. My bedroom is probably around 300 sqft.) *Areas for Improvement *Water Refilling: The included plastic tube works well with tall faucets but struggles with standard bathroom sinks, leading to bending and restricted water flow. *Maintenance and Cleaning: The long, curved water tube connecting the reservoir and the top part could pose cleaning challenges similar to those encountered with a fish tank. However, the unit's design minimizes hard-to-clean corners and edges, making it generally easier to maintain than traditional humidifiers. I plan to use a bleach-infused cleaner for effective cleaning and disinfection. *Final Thoughts on the Levoit Superior S6000 After giving this humidifier a whirl for a day, I'm happy with it. It does what it's supposed to do without any fuss, and it gets my thumbs up. But I won't lie – the build and the primary mechanism make me question the price tag. Is it worth what I paid? I'm on the fence about that. Stay tuned, in any case. If anything significant pops up, good or bad, in how this thing works or what it's like keeping it clean, I'll be sure to drop an update. For now, if you're in the market for a no-nonsense humidifier, the Levoit S6000 is a decent pick.

This is a review after having for 2 weeks. Background about me: I looked around at many different options for home humidification. Where I live in the North East, summers are usually hot and humid and fall and winter tends to be very dry. We had a particularly dry spell at the end of October, which lead to sinus issues and I needed some relief. I thought of getting a professionally installed humidifier for my central air system, but decided against that as running a water line to the attic which would be prone to freezing was not acceptable. I also looked at portable steam humidifiers but the choices were limited and not great. So, an evaporative humidifier it is. I have a large space; room-sized humidifiers don't do anything because of forced air heat (I have a venta airwasher which I am going to retire), so I needed something with a lot more oomph. I've tried ultrasonic misters in the past, and they are novel, but generally don't do a good job. The Levoit 6000s fits what I wanted. A humidifier that can work for my whole house (~2000ft²) and doesn't need constant filling and attending. In this super low humidity time of the year, 6 gallons lasts maybe 36 hours. The machine actually evaporates that much water, it is pleasantly surprising. RH increases rapidly up until about 45%, then it is slower as it diffuses. Seems to cease increasing the humidity once RH is about 60% and the temp is around 70F. Which is fine, 50% RH makes your nose happy and doesn't make everything feel damp. A steam humidifier might over humidify an area. The unit stops operating with about 1/2gal left in the tank. The water at this point turns yellowish, due to calcium being left behind. I also notice when the water level starts getting very low, and the humidity is somewhat high, you'll hear a slight tricking sound as the water from the pump isn't evaporating on the pads and is dripping back into the tank. Its not obnoxious though. Automatically shuts off when the water level is too low to continue. Has 3 fan speeds. I leave it on 2 as it just disappears into background noise. Speed 3 is a bit loud, I measured around 41db from 1m away. Speed 2 is below 30db, my meter won't read it. You can also turn off the lights, so if you are a light sleeper this won't bug you. Power usage on fan speed 1 is 3 watts, speed 2 is 8 watts, speed 3 is 21 watts. The bottom line is, this works great for your whole house, even with forced air HVAC, it has a lot of nice creature features you'll appreciate, and doesn't seem to need a lot of attention. It brings the humidity to around 50% quickly, but don't expect it to bring the humidity much above that on speed 2. Generally, that's the sweet spot for happy nose and skin anyway. The design is resistant to leaks and spills. If you can lift it in and out of your sink or bathtub go for it, otherwise it comes with a silly hose thing to fill it. Update: a few months later. This thing still rocks. I added a screenshot of an independent analysis of how fast this can throw the humidity out there. I replaced the pads with blue ones, and it's working just fine. Keep up with the mold and mildew growth, otherwise it starts to smell and can give you allergies. Run the unit dry and let it sit empty and dry for a few days every now and then. I bleach the pads and just dump a little bit of bleach in the unit every so often (like a couple tablespoons). It makes everything smell (like bleach) for a while, but it does the trick with sanitizing everything in the machine. Suggest doing the bleach treatment in a garage or other space where you won't be breathing it.

I have been running this humidifier for 3 months now. It has turned out to be exactly what we needed. It has kept the entire house humidified through a cold, dry winter. If you are looking for a humidifier, I really recommend getting one of the wick style humidifiers like this Levoit 6000S. It allows you to use tap water instead distilled water without it getting crusted up with minerals like evaporative humidifiers, and without having mineral dust all over the house like misting humidifiers. I have a low to moderate level of hardness in my tap water, and the wicks have lasted for 3 months and are still working. We have averaged about 5 gallons of water per day, so this is pretty heavy usage. We are getting towards the end of winter, so we will throw out these wicks when we store the humidifier for the summer and start fresh next heating season. A few likes and dislikes: - The tank and wick holder have been fairly easy to clean out. A narrow brush is provided to help get to the corners. Other than that, I have just washed it with dish soap and water and a rag. I have also used the recommended Citric Acid cleaning procedure a couple of times just to get rid of a little bit of mineral scale and to make sure that he pump doesn't get any build up. Just trying to make sure it lasts as long as possible. - I like that the fan speed has a bunch of different settings. This gives a lot of control over how much humidity gets put into the air when you combine it with the scheduling feature. The lower speeds are very quiet. The higher speeds are noticeable, but certainly less than your average fan on a medium or high setting. - The hose that is provided is pretty well thought out. The end that goes on the sink faucet is large enough to fit over a large sink nozzle like the ones that have a built in spray head. The tank stays on the floor while you fill it. I definitely don't suggest lifting the tank when it is full. Very heavy and likely to slosh and spill. - Some other reviews I've seen have mentioned that the wheels on the tank aren't great. I agree with that. The can be hard to steer and I would not recommend trying to roll them over deep carpet. We have hardwood floors so that hasn't been a problem. Tile with large grout lines should work, but I would suggest being careful to keep things from tipping over. Larger wheels would help. - The humidity sensor does not work well. It seems like it is located in a bad spot and maybe doesn't have enough air circulation. It changes rapidly when the humidifier is turned on and doesn't necessarily follow what a difference sensor might read. Humidity sensors will tend to have readings a few percentage points off from each other anyway, but usually they will track each other pretty well. The result of the poor humidity sensing is that we haven't been able to rely on the automatic mode. To get around this, we just set a schedule using the app and adjusted the run time based on what the humidity in the house was. Levoit should put some effort into improving this. Overall, I definitely recommend this dehumidifier because it has a huge water tank, wick-style humidification, easy to clean, and very flexible settings and scheduling. Just be careful if you have to roll it over carpets or uneven floors, and don't expect the automatic function to work consistently.

We bought three of these thinking that they would be fantastic. We filled them up and plugged them in and they run for three or four seconds and then they all shut off and say there is no water. Started a warranty claim with the company, and we hope that they will refund us the money. Not good at all. *Updated review: Manufacturer’s (Levoit’s) Customer Service telephone line started the claim process. Had to email the manufacturer a video of empty tank malfunction red light icon and also the Amazon pdf invoice. Heard by email from Levoit from the claims department the next day. Agent recommended to wait for about five days for the tech department’s updated firmware available via the VeSync app. Also provided us the option to cut the cords and send a photo of the cut cords to start a replacement process. We opted to wait for the firmware update. It actually worked! Once the new firmware was installed via the VeSync app to each of the units separately, the pump did finally start to bring water from the tank below to the upper tray to drip onto the filters to make them wet and hence evaporate the water with the fan’s airflow. *Note that it is necessary to be persistent in restarting the unit several times (between 6 to 20 times, actually!) before the pump is primed and starts to deliver the water as it should. USE MANUAL MODE WITH FAN SET TO HIGHEST SPEED. (Speed 9 on the app, or 3 fan icons on the dash.) We almost gave up several times. But patience paid off. Once the pumps were finally primed in this way, the product works extremely well. The design and the build is smart and of excellent materials. The functionality is excellent. The fans are smooth and quite quiet, a gentle background white noise. It was an anxious ordeal having invested in three units at once and having none of them function, at first. Customers Service at Levoit was reasonable and their firmware update saved the day. Levoit SHOULD stipulate very clearly, though, to PERSIST IN POWERING ON THE HUMIDIFIER UNTIL THE PUMP IS PRIMED. Eventually you can hear the first trickle of water coming up into the top tray. Only then are you home free. Now we love the product as we expected we should. But it was a trying experience, to be honest. These machines raise the humidity level quickly compared to other types. We got this evaporative model after having bad experience with the white dust from the sonic misting types. Seriously, despite the initial frustrations getting it going, we love this new Levoit model with its big tank and intelligent design. Love it!

This is my second winter using this, and I love it. Generally it does all the things you'd want in a humidifier - humidifies large areas without dribbling all over the place, does NOT put white dust on things, has some nice features. Here's some things to know, but they are not dealbreakers for me because I don't think you can avoid them: It's heavy to move after you fill it - the wheels can't handle the weigh very well, so I just shuffle it along. There is a tube to fill it with but my shower head can just reach it outside the tub, so I haven't used the tube. It's relatively quiet, but when it goes into full blow mode it's noticeable. The 'keep at 50%' feature is good, but that is often too high for my condo (unless I want to mop the windowsills) so I keep it on the other button at 40% or 45%. Sometimes it wakes up and goes back to that level a couple of hours later, but sometimes I need to quickly switch it on and off (an instant action without bending down) to 'wake it up'. Again, this is fine for me because I don't want it continually coming on and making things too wet. The feature where you can run it in dry mode to dry out the filters if you're going away for a day or so is great - I don't always want to empty / disassemble it for just a short absence. Filters that come with it are very good. Last winter I used the same ones for 4 months but they were getting a bit stinky by the end (I rinse them every week or two), so I think this year I'll change after 2.5 months and use two sets over the LONG 5 months of Ontario winter... Also the reading of the humidity level is consistent with what my Nest thermostats say, so either it is accurate or both are equally inaccurate :-)

It’s hard to find a large evaporative humidifier at a reasonable price. This one fit the bill and overall I’m very satisfied with it. The humidifier itself does its job perfectly, the companion app is convenient and works well, the digital display shows percentage of humidity readout (also available and changeable in the app), and I only have to refill about once a week. Every time I refill, I clean the humidifier. This is where the design flaw makes its appearance. Each of the four corners inside of the reservoir has a hump that is impossible to clean between hump and inner wall. I can’t even clean the orange gunk in the deepest valleys with a q-tip unfortunately. It’s too bad because it’s an otherwise excellent machine, but still worth the purchase for me. Lastly, the four wax filters it requires last a long time, but are not available to buy ANYWHERE in Canada. After contacting Amazon and then the company about finding these filters, I was told that they will be available in Canada in February 2024. It’s Feb 9 and they are not yet on Amazon, but I will be following up at the end of the month if I still can’t find them. I hope this review helps you out!

I did a lot of research before buying a humidifier, and I looked through so many comparisons before finally choosing this one. after using it, I can honestly say it was the right choice. The humidifying effect is very noticeable, and the coverage is much better than I expected. it works well in different kind of space too. I have seen that using both large homes around 3,000 square feet and smaller corner around 500 to 600 square feet, and still perform really well. I have already recommended it to three of my friends, and now everyone of their homes have one too. that alone says a lot. if you wanna a humidifier that actually makes a quality air difference, that one has been excellent. The only point is the filter is expensive in my mind. and I have to replace the twice in in the winter season. so if the filter will be cheaper, that will be so good.

This humidifier does indeed humidify a large room quickly. However, my first humidifier started making a loud, piercing noise just a few months after purchase. I contacted customer service and received a replacement under warranty. After waiting two to three weeks in dry air, the new unit finally arrived. At first, it worked fine, but within less than a week, a part securing the fan fell off. That part is now stuck inside the fan, and I don’t think it’s safe to use the device anymore. We are currently in contact with customer service again, and I will post here for further updates
