So helpful
My baby had mild reflux that didnāt seem to bother her but it bothered me and obviously I couldnāt fully know if it did bother her and wanted to understand it more. This book was so helpful and informative and I saw signs of improvement once I tweaked feeds etc. Also the weaning side of it really helped. I started weaning my baby and the reflux seemed to be worse and constipation was an issue. I revisited this book and cut out certain foods that were on Aineās foods to avoid and we instantly saw results. Thank you xx

Well researched and clear guide
This book has the information on reflux that i have been searching for and my doctors have been unable to provide. It has given me lots more avenues to pursue other than the medication that doctors prescribe and so far hasn't worked. It is clearly written and well researched. Giving four stars instead of five because it doesn't really narrow down which of the options to try first and why so I still feel quite overwhelmed.

Sanity saver!!!
If Iām honest, I canāt remember where I first found out about this book. In the early weeks of my daughter being born I spend many sleep deprived hours trawling the internet for answers...I knew something wasnāt right with my little girl but nobody would listen. Back and forth to the drs, trips to A&E...I was even told by one doctor (who didnāt even look at my daughter) that she was teething (she was 5 weeks old at this point)!! Anyway, on one of my frantic searches I came across Aineās book and I can honestly say it had a huge impact, not only on my daughter (as I was finally able establish what was going on) but on my mental health also! Finally, I had some answers. I was able to go back to my doctors and firmly say what I thought the issue was - my daughter had a milk allergy that was causing her reflux. Thanks to this book, on one of my final A&E visits, I knew exactly what the drs were talking about when it came to medication, I knew exactly what milk to say that I wanted to try instead.I would definitely (and already have) recommend this book to others.

Not a panacea
While this book is a tome of suggestions, the central theme of this book is that a baby's reflux is often caused by a mother's diet, triggering symptoms through breast milk. To the author's credit, there are undoubtedly cases of babies that have an extreme sensitivity to certain proteins (such as soy or cow's milk), whom are affected by even trace levels of allergens. For the rest, the gaping hole in this theory is that very little of the raw material a mother consumes winds up in the composition of the resulting breast milk. If it did, the millions of women in rural India eating hot curries would be nursing babies in a constant state of digestive distress... and women who enjoy a glass or two of wine with an evening meal would be tending to very tipsy offspring! This was never adequately addressed, and made it hard to trust I was reading a credible source. For what it's worth, my partner took this advice at face value, and eliminated practically everything -- wheat, dairy, all gluten forms, FODMAPs, eggs, soy. Every 'allergen' that has become fashionable to bash. Irrespective of what she ate (or over the weeks it was eliminated), our son's reflux remained a constant. Sometimes he'd go several feeds without an issue; other times he'd soak through 4 changes of clothing in a row following one meal. He's 4 months old, and he still spits-up frequently, although not nearly as much as the first month. Occam's Razor according to a paediatrician we spoke with: some babies just have a weaker oesophagus to start with, and can't keep it down. It gets better with time. Without meaning to discredit the author, this is the likely explanation for why some experience 'miracle cures' when their baby 'suddenly' stops throwing up. Given enough time, most problems correct themselves. This won't be the answer to every scenario, of course, but it likely answers a great many.Beyond this basic premise, I have several general issues with the book. It's long and quite repetitive; 328 pages could be condensed down to at least half of that by focusing on the core subject. Instead, it takes all manner of tangents, including in the pseudoscientific topics of reflexology, chiropractics, homeopathy, acupuncture, etc, which - beyond rubbishing all credibility / authority the author may have had by suggesting therapies that have been debunked/denounced by actual, real science - serves to confuse the reader with this scattershot approach. Now instead of one thing to try, the reader has many. So, is food the culprit, or is it that my son needs his palms read, his cranium adjusted, and needles pushing into his pressure points? On the one hand, I cheer the author's approach to self-discovery - clearly, in biology, there's a million things that could be causing a symptom, but in all likelihood some babies just experience more reflux than others, and it usually gets better with time. For everything else, I would encourage the reader to take a scientific/evidence-based approach. Whilst this book covers a lot of ground, I found it too airy-fairy in places for my sensibilities, to the point where it tarnished credibility for the rest of it. 3/5.

Saved my sanity!
I can of recommend Aine and her wonderful book enough. She literally saved my sanity! When my boy was a couple of weeks old it became clear that something wasnāt right. He would scream - not cry, really scream, obviously in pain - whenever we laid him down flat. Every time I had to put him down to change his nappy or get him dressed, we both ended up hysterical because I felt so guilty and helpless. I slept sitting upright with him in my arms for weeks because it was the only way he would settle. I felt like I was completely failing as a mum because I didnāt know how to help my baby. I took him to see my GP and health visitor more times than I can remember and every time I was told it was ānormalā and that heād āgrow out of it eventuallyā. We were given some medication to try with no investigation into what might be causing the reflux, so perhaps unsurprisingly, the medication didnāt help. I was at my witsā end when - finally - a frantic late night Google led led to Aine. I immediately bought her book and within hours of it arriving I had made an appointment with a cranial osteopath who assessed my baby and identified a large degree of stiffness in his head and neck which was affecting his swallowing, leading to the awful reflux. Within 2 sessions we saw a massive improvement. After the fourth session, he lay flat on his back for an hour at a baby sensory class and actually smiled at me. Without Aine we might never have achieved that. I canāt thank her enough.

Great information
Just started reading this book and it is already filled with so much helpful information that gets down to the root of what is causing our baby's issues. It has already made me start to feel hopeful instead of helpless and alone. Highly recommend!

Good principle to read about, poor layout and presentation
Lots of printing and publishing mistakes. And honestly, feels like the author is saying the same thing over and over again in each chapter and just spinning it differently.Could make this book much more concise. That being said, I love the message. Reflux as a symptom of a cause. Find the cause.

BUYER BEWARE! Words cut off and misspelling words
I'm a little annoyed šI'm an adviid reader and I love languages and grammer. And nothing annoys me more then when words our cut off by the printing, fading, and MISSPELLING words. Why is pediatric not spelled properly? If it's its like this through the whole book it's going to annoy me like it has now and I'm only on pg 14. It's great information so far but printing needs to be better and this should have been proofread because it clearly wasn't.I'll update again once I'm done reading.

Saved us!!
This book contains the information any parent of a refluxy baby needs - the stuff doctors won't tell or don't know about. Saved me and my baby a lot of suffering by helping us find the real cause of reflux and being able to take healing measures accordingly.

EVERYONE needs this information š¤
Every mom needs this book! Well pretty much everyone needs this book lol! I have even been telling all of my sons drs, chiropractors, therapist, family, friends, mom friends about this book and workshop. I have such a different outlook on almost every health aspect on my son after reading this and coming across her page and information and knowledge on reflux, allergies, intolerance and more. This has made me feel a huge weight off my shoulder. I am still trying to read my son closely on all of his symptoms and things to get to the bottom of his bottom line cause but I feel like with the reflux workshop and this book we will get there. I love that she wants to help! Like if we could just have a million more of her all over this world. My little boy is 2 1/2 and heās had so many test, meds, etc. I am so glad I went with my gut and heās no longer on anything until I can get to the bottom of his cause and no longer seeing these drs that prescribe my son a medicine the first visit we see them. Listen to your babies they are showing you exactly what you need to know and how to help them. Be involved and want to listen to them! Because of this lady and her knowledge I actually kinda feel like my sons personal dr ;) like how amazing that I can diagnose whatās going on with him almost and help him because of coming across this book and her IG page of her knowledge and information . Please Buy this book and help your baby. I canāt imagine how different our life would of been if I found this in infant days but Iām just happy I did when I did! Thank you so much for your time patience and knowledge to care enough to share what you know to help these babies that need your help and us parents and drs, specialist and therapist that need this knowledge to help them feel their best! ā¤ļø
