Works just as it should. As a novice I appreciate that it heats up fast to melt the glue.

Great little iron and tape for the price. Worked perfectly for my project. Not sure how it'll hold up long term but it's good for now.

Heating Power & Control ​For an 800-watt iron, this unit heats up surprisingly fast and distributes the temperature evenly across the base. The four distinct heat settings (ranging from low to high heat) are a major plus. It allows you to dial in the exact temperature needed for your specific carpet backing without the risk of scorching or overheating the materials. ​The Joining Tape & Bond ​The included 66-foot roll of joining tape is high-quality and features an excellent, thick multi-bead adhesive layout. Once the iron melts the glue, the "red stitch" down the center makes it incredibly easy to keep your seam perfectly aligned. The glue sets up into a rock-solid, contoured low-profile bond that doesn't feel stiff or bunch up under the carpet. ​The Star Roller Performance ​Having the spiked star grooming roller included in the box makes this a phenomenal value. ​The Grip: The wide head on the roller lets you put down a good amount of pressure without tipping or "dishing" the seam area. ​The Finish Passing it back and forth over the hot seam locks the carpet backing into the adhesive perfectly. It does a fantastic job of blending the carpet pile together, making the seam completely vanish when you're done. Overall It's a great kit and it is very versatile. However I would recommend adding some heavy duty scissors and a rag to the kit for trimming the carpet and the wet rag to place under the iron.

this worked out better than i expected. i am a DIY, and carpet repair was scary. i watched videos on how to use it. i was scared out of my mind. not my day job, but the quotes i got was ridiculous. low end of 700 to high of 1200 for a 15ft by 12ft bedroom. one room only mind you. i had carpet in my garage from my wood flooring upgade. once i got the carpet laid down. i cut the carpet near the door, laid down the sticky tape and used the heat gun.. once i figured out the right temperature, the right method, the right angle, and the right pressure. this worked out great. first attempt was rough, but iv'e done 5 repairs now and i'm a home pro now. this will heat up fast. make sure you have it on stable platform. It is easy to use, but look at videos before hand. have confidence. the iron will catch some of the glue afterwards. wait till it is cooled down to clean it.

DIY carpet Installed in whole house with these tools, with some YouTube help every thing worked well and the carpet looks fabulous!
