Useless and Confusing
This is a useless program because it is not user friendly. I bought this off amazon, to help me with references and in-text citations, since I'm working on my graduate thesis - the formatting is half the headache. However this program was completely useless and very confusing to setup, and it didn't work. I couldn't put the links of the sources I had used in the paper. So I ended up returning this product. The seller was very accommodating with the return, and I am thankful for that. So my advice for any undergraduate or graduate student who is thinking of using this for their references, is to pass on this program.

Do not buy this if you have updated Windows in the last two years.
The installer software is not compatible with Windows 10. You cannot download the Direct Export software off of the install disk, and the direct download off of their help site still gets a "not compatible" message, although it seems to install. Once you get it working, the software is incredibly useful, so it's a shame.

Do NOT purchase this product without checking with your home library!
Due to increased costs and incomparability issues, my university (a branch of U Cal) STOPPED using Endnote in 2014 so there is NO articulation between Endnote 8 and the card catalog or databases at the institution, making the program almost useless.Otherwise, you'll be a dissertatin' fool--out $120--just like me!

Updated from version X7 for MAC which was relatively stable. Version X8 crashes so often to the point of becoming unusable. I have contacted customer support and this seems to be a known issue for the Sierra OS, but there is no fix as of yet.Update 9/2018: Mac version: Some of the issues related to pdf attachment appear to have been improved, however the program continues to be unstable to the point of being unusable at times. I have experienced this on different machines, so it is not a local issue. The program can be so difficult to use that it's hard to get anything done.
