I picked up this SEAFLO 24V self‑priming gear pump because I needed something reliable for moving oil and diesel during maintenance work. I’ve used plenty of transfer pumps over the years, and most of them either struggle with thicker fluids or lose prime the moment you stop the flow. This one immediately felt different — heavier, sturdier, and clearly built for real service tasks. The first time I hooked it up, I was impressed by how quickly it primed itself. No coaxing, no shaking hoses, no fighting with air pockets. I flipped the switch and the copper impeller grabbed the fluid instantly, pulling oil through the line with a steady, confident flow. At 3.2 GPM, it moves fluid fast enough to be efficient without being so aggressive that it makes a mess. What really sold me was the reversible flow. Being able to switch directions on the fly makes draining and filling feel like two sides of the same job instead of two separate setups. Pump comes with two threaded to barb fittings. The nomenclature says 3/8" FNPT, but it's not. Also, the barb fitting is not 3/8". My local hydraulic fitting store says they can't get the parts because they don't carry British Pipe Standard items.

Installed pump for customer that is having a fuel issue with their crane. Pump helped main fuel pump build pressure to get crane running till main fuel pump comes in for replacing.

I’ve been really impressed with this 24V SEAFLO gear pump. The metal pump head and copper impeller give it a very solid, heavy-duty feel. I’ve been using the pump for engine oil changes, and it has worked perfectly pumping the viscous fluid. The 3.2 GPM flow rate moves fluid quickly, making oil changes much faster and cleaner. The self-priming capability works great, and the reversible flow feature is extremely useful for both draining and filling applications. The thermally protected motor also provides extra peace of mind during longer run times. One thing I really appreciated is that the included 3/8” MNPT to 1/2” barb fittings are high quality. Got this for my husband for one of his projects and he’s been really happy with it so far. The pump feels solid, durable, and very well made with quality metal components. A heads up for people needing proper or better fitting Fittings'.. Most hydraulic shops have pipe fittings for BSP fittings. British Pipe standard (I think), I can't verify right this moment if those hydraulic fittings will/would work but I just bought a cheap Chinese transfer pump off Amazon to verify if my idea will work or not. Once I get the pump I'll try hard to update this review/help comment so other shave options. Hydraulic fittings are NOT Cheap by any means but if they fit as I hope they will many people will be happy to find/buy them. Assuming Amazon allows this review to post as a help subject for pumps they sell to people! I wish someone would take their pump to a hydraulic shop to see if they can source fittings for those need them.!

says for machinery Lubricants( OIL) on pump says water transfer. very slow and does not produce volume of oil as states.

I’m sure it’s a good pump but the instructions clearly state not for fuel use.
