Great for International Travel and Everyday use
This cooling wallet worked really well for me while traveling internationally. I activated it with water and placed it inside a zip-closed bag for extra protection from the moisture. It stayed cool enough for my needs until I reached my destination. It was especially useful while I was in an area where electricity was limited and refrigeration wasn’t always convenient. I also had no issues taking it through airport security. I like that there are several color options available too. Overall, it was practical, easy to use, and did a good job for me while traveling. This works!!
At the end of a three week vacation to Europe. This cooler has worked very well. So well I’m going to give it to my girlfriend for her mother in Colombia. I’ll buy another. I charged it when I left for the trip and twice more here in Europe. It’s kept my meds cool throughout the trip. It’s left in a suitcase in the back of a rental car. It’s been warm in Europe this year. I put two vials of insulin and one Ozempic pen in the cooler. Plenty of room. Not very heavy when wet. Stores well in my med pouch. Mine doesn’t have a zipper, but the Velcro works well.

Fabulous product to keep insulin or glp1 pen cool
This worked exactly as described. The first time I used it I was disappointed. I did not have a pen in it. The pouch did not keep cool. I reread the instructions and realized it must be in a place where it has air circulation. I was on a trip last weekend and I used it with a pen. The pen stayed cool for 2 days!!! If you have to carry meds and don’t have access to refrigeration then you need this! I have the single pen pouch and the 4 pen pouch for longer trips.

Nifty little pack
I recently learned I'm allergic to bees, as a result I need to carry an Epi Pen, but I'm also an adventurer. Learning that an Epi Pen needs to stay at a consistent temp prompted me to buy the cooling wallet. It stays cool enough in hot temps for a few hours. It's flexible so it's easy to put into a bag or purse. I wouldn't recommend using this for insulin or something that needs to be refrigerated, but it works for an Epi Pen.

Manufacturer study shows it only cools to 77°. Read on…
UPDATE ON MY REVIEW BELOW: I would encourage you to read this before you a buy this product. I called customer support manufacturer at Frio when I returned from my trip. They said that there was only one study done in testing this product. They put it in a temperature controlled container at 100° for 48 hours and the medicine stayed at approximately 77°. The manufacturer considers this “cool”. I have included a screenshot of their brochure when I received the product (added below in the picture). You’ll notice that it says at the very top “Keep your medication cool”. However, below at the first bulleted point, it says keep medication cool and safe (note the asterisks mark). Below, at the asterisks, you’ll notice it says medication must be maintained at his recommended safe temperature. They told me that most medications could be safely used at room temperature so it was within the parameters of their advertising. I don’t think that when a manufacture advertises that the medicine will arrive cool, that 77° is considered cool. I think the manufacture should be responsible for the loss that I incurred. Of course they disagree. My initial review: I purchased this item because I needed a way to keep my medication cool for a long trip and it seemed like the perfect solution. It advertises that it keeps medication “cool” for 45 hours. I flew from New Mexico to Budapest Hungary and when I arrived in Budapest less than 28 hours later, I pulled the medication out of the gel pack and found that it was almost warm. I called my physician and asked if my medication was safe to take and was told that it was not and to throw it all away. This left me in a terrible situation because not only did I throw away hundreds of dollars worth of medication, it left me without the medication I needed for a month long trip. If you want to rely on a product to keep your medication coool, do not purchase or rely this product.

Has been a great product for 2 years and counting!
I am very please with the Frio Cooling Wallet. It especially helps during long flights and no where to put your insulin to keep it cool (notice I did not say cold). I simply wet it, put my insulin vials in it, slip it in the pouch and and forget about it until I get to wherever I am going to pull out my "Medi-Fridge" (which is also a great product) from my suitcase. Does it keep whatever inside cold? No, it will not keep your items cold. It will keep your items cool. This thing is not a refrigerator. This product is made for short trips. I used mine for 12 hours at a time. I then re-wet it slightly the next morning and used it another 12 hours. But I personally think it worked great and kept my insulin cool enough. Also, they call this a "COOLING WALLET" not a "FREEZING-BITTER COLD WALLET". Does it last 45 Hours like advertised? I have no idea. I didn't use it this long. I used it for 12 hours, and then by morning it still seemed cool. But I still added a little water just in case for the rest of the day. And once I am done using it, I just forget about it. Does the gel leak? You do see the gel coming through the mesh (or whatever fabric it is) a little. But it does not get on anything, it is non-toxic (I don't suggest you lick it or eat it... its not an ice cream) and does not smell (if you are into sniffing things). I know when you hear "leak" you get scared. Don't. The mesh is like a sponge, you simply see it inside of the mesh, it never really "seeps" out or anything. I wouldn't even call it a leak. Plus, the pouch that comes with this product helps... and once this thing dries, the gel goes back in and you no longer see it (funny, reminds me a of the blob). Does it last? I have had mine for 2 years and use it a lot. HELPFUL HINTS: Be sure if you are traveling on an airplane that you open your pouch before you get the security area so they can see in it. Also be sure to tell them it is a "cooling pouch" to keep your insulin (or whatever) cool. Then show them your prescription letter or insulin box with the prescription label on it. I know the company says it lasts 45 hours. But it doesn't hurt after about 12 hours to re-wet it slightly. I do not mean dunk it in water, I just put it under the faucet and made it damp again. I am not saying it doesn't last 45 hours, I am just saying this seemed to help me. DO NOT PUT IT IN A CLOSED CONTAINER! A lot of people when they travel, like to put things in containers or zip-lock bags. THIS NEEDS AIR to keep it cool. Without air, it will just be a big blob (gel) in a pouch. And I don't think you want to pay for a "Frio Big Blob in a Pouch". Hope I helped the people who had problems with this product and the people who are thinking about purchasing this. I know I loved t and it has helped me out a lot.

Works as advertised and better than expected
Smooth purchase, fast shipper, product arrived exactly as described with no defects or failures and works amazing! The item keeps my insulin pen cool for four or five days before having to be soaked and refreshed.

Did what it said
The Frio wallet performs exactly the way it says it does. But make sure you understand what it says it will do. The Frio cooling case will maintain your insulin at 77-79 degrees F. So basically a warm fall day. That is not refrigeration temperatures. Be sure you are aware of the temp your insulin should be kept at before purchasing. Bottle insulin should typically be stored between 36-46F where insulin pens can be stored between 56-80F. This wallet is not appropriate for bottle insulin! I was able to store 2 pens of insulin (Tresiba) in this wallet for a recent out of state trip. It kept the insulin temp stable and that's all I needed. To use, you soak for a few minutes in cold water and then allow to "dry" for a couple of minutes. Pat with paper towel and insert in case. [Note here: the red color bleeds. Do not do like I did and use a white kitchen towel. Use something disposable. Trust me on this. ] The cooling case is filled with gel beads that soak up the water. So the case does not - and should not - be rigid. It's very squishy. DO NOT SQUISH. Resist the urge to squish. Pat dry - insert in case - go squeeze your significant other/favorite pet/pillow of choice instead. The inner stays moist and squishy. The outer case did a great job keeping the moisture from everything else. I actually put my Frio in a plastic pencil box that held my blood sugar testing equipment and needles. Worked great slinging around in my backpack on vacation. You are warned not to put the case inside something waterproof or airtight. It uses evaporative technology to work so needs some sort of air access. When drying out, expect it to take a looooong time. The instructions warn you that the beads could take 2-4 WEEKS to dry out and they are not jiving. You can speed (ha!) the drying by setting the Frio near a vent or on a windowsill. So to recap: TL/DR: Not for bottle insulin. Good for keeping pen temp stable. Don't squish. Red bleeds. Updated 1/29/21: I recently used the Frio insulated wallet for a trip. What I discovered is that the wallet apparently did not dry completely the last time I used it despite being left out for over 2 weeks. What this means is that I ended up with mildew on the case and the wallet. When I attempted to clean it, this sucker was STILL bleeding red colorant. I was able to use it and it still worked, but I really do NOT recommend the red color and expect the wallet to take at least a month if not more to dry out completely before you store it away.

THE HOTTEST COOLING BAG SOLUTION
Absolutely brilliant! I've been using frio products since 2001 for a trip to Oz and they've always been completely reliable. When activated, the extra large Frio bag plus the Large frio bag with diabetic pens, etc. placed either side of other heat-sensitive medical injections in an Art for Lunch bag are an absolutely winning transport combination. Well done, Frio!

I previously ordered one but in the mini version which is great but only big enough for 1 insulin bottle
My initial order didn't arrive - I contacted the seller they posted another straight away which I received. I previously ordered one but in the mini version which is great but only big enough for 1 insulin bottle. I ordered this thinking small would be slightly bigger, but it is massive far to big. Nothing wrong with the wallet. In my opinion this should be described as medium not small.
