Will it fit the Stihl MS 390 with 20” bar?

Thank you for contacting Oregon Tool Jim. The Stihl MS 390 can use either a .325" pitch cutting system or a 3/8" standard pitch cutting system. Those 2 chain pitches are not interchangeable so you will need to make sure which chain pitch your saw is set up for. The L81 chain is a .325" pitch chain for a 20" bar on your saw. So if you determine that your saw is set up for .325" pitch then it will work. If you determine that your saw is set up for 3/8" Standard pitch then you will be looking for Oregon 75EXL072G. It does not fit a ms290...can i exchange it? i didn't need to open it until after the amazon return period had closed.

I just put it on my Stihl MS290???? Not sure why yours dies not fit.

Will this fit a husqvarna 455 rancher?

I don't know, it fits my stihl saw. Your manual should tell you the chain specs.
