This ear thermometer is awesome. It’s easy to use, it’s accurate and give readings in seconds. My wife and I love this clever device and wish we bought it a long time ago. It really comes in handy. We got a nice case for it and plenty of replacement ear cups. Highly recommend

My toddler is getting close to the age of 3 and it’s time to phase out taking rectal temps. I tried a few other thermometers that consistently gave inaccurate results. The Braun ThermoScan 5 is easy to use, results are fast, and it is very accurate! I feel confident using this and trust the results. There’s nothing worse than thinking your kid has a fever and getting a “normal” temp when they’re obviously warm. This has eliminated so much stress around fevers. This model (version 5) was on a great sale when I got it, I had been going back and forth between this one and the latest version and the price on this sold me! I also realized I probably didn’t haaaaave to have the one that connected to my phone if it was gonna save me 50% of the money lol

I recently bought a cheaper touchless forehead thermometer for about $15 with tons of good reviews, but it was totally inaccurate and unreliable, so I returned it. After that I decided to buy this Braun again, because I had the same one before and used it for about six years until we lost it during moving. This thermometer has never failed me, it always gives consistent and accurate readings, and I never have to second guess if the temperature is correct. As a mom, this is very important for me since my kids get sick often and I need to know real numbers, not guesses. Yes, it costs more, but it is definitely worth the money for peace of mind and quality. I would rather pay a little extra and trust the result. Buying it for the second time and still very happy with it, highly recommend.

I had an older version of this thermometer from 13 years prior before it finally died. I knew I wanted to get the same brand as it had been so reliable for many years. This model has not disappointed! Super easy to use and kid friendly.

This is a great thermometer - easy to use, FAST, and I love that it comes with everything you need (batteries and silicone caps). I didn’t give it 5 stars because the screen is difficult to read and doesn’t light up. Taking baby’s temperature at night, while they’re sleeping, or in a low lit space is impossible unless you use your phone flashlight or turn on the lights. Doesn’t seem like a big deal until you have a sick kiddo and need a fast reading in the middle of the night! Otherwise it’s great.

There are three metrics for a body thermometer: accuracy, consistency and safety. The gold standard for the first two properties was the old mercury thermometer, which relied on the simplest of physical principles. Sadly, it failed on the last count. Individuals were rarely injured, but the overall environmental effect wasn't acceptable. So the gold standard is gone. Digital thermometers exist in several forms. They're generally safe (as long as disposed of properly), so the remaining metrics are accuracy and consistency. Of those, consistency may be the more important. If a thermometer is a consistent half-degree off, it's easy to make a mental correction. After all, you're more interested in the trend--not necessarily an completely accurate number. I had a little shoot-out between the Braun and a cheap grocery store digital thermometer. At four different periods in the day, I took my temperature several times in rapid succession (My wife wandered into the room at one point when I had one thermometer in my mouth and the other in my ear. I was happy the camera wasn't nearby). The results were quite surprising. The oral thermometer gave me reliable measurements that didn't vary by more than a tenth of a degree over the 5-minute measurement period. The Braun was all over the place, at one point swinging over a 1.2 degree (Fahrenheit) range. The measurement from left to right ear was never the same, but never in a predictable way. At its best, the variance was .3 (three-tenths) of a degree. That's three times worse than the oral thermometer at its worst. I've always liked the tasteful appearance and solid quality of Braun products. But whether it's a product problem or a basic problem with the reliability of the ear measurement, it's hard to recommend it.

Tengo mas de 6 termómetros, de todos los tipos y marcas. Inclusive uno marca braun pero otro modelo. Con todos las temperaturas me daban valores no lógicos. Mi pediatra me recomendó este modelo y de verdad que excelente! Coincide con el valor de uno de mercurio.
