No, it would not. The magnetic clasp releases if there is too much weight put on the lanyard. It is both a nice and annoying feature. I chose this bc I wanted a lanyard that would release if too much pressure was put on my neck; it's perfect for a badge and a small key. There's no way the iPhone 6 would work with this lanyard.

Is it possible to hang a medical alert device from this? How? I can't see a way to do that.

The part that the metal circle is attached to is actually a clip. I keep keys on mine that I need to remove frequently. It would depend on how heavy/big your medical alert device is.

Does your hair get tangled in the beads on this lanyard?

No but I have short hair. Gave to my co workers with long hair but no one has said anything. They really are pretty.

Is it possible to also put reading glasses in/on it?

You could if they hang off the ring. It doesn't come apart and make two separate ends. Hope that helps.
