The nostalgia is real! This Tamagotchi is gen 1 and it is very pretty. It has pink flowers and it is so much fun to relive this memory from when I was a kid. If you remember Tamagotchi's from your childhood, these are what you are thinking of. This is not a new one so if you are looking for a new version this is not it. This is a recreation from the 90's and I am so beyond happy they made a comeback. Cuteness! The little alien is so cute! You care for it and feed it and can even play a game with it. Be careful not to neglect it though because they can die, but you can also reset it if it dies too. Have fun with your new virtual pet! The memories this brought back from my childhood are real! What are you waiting for?

I got Tamagotchis for my adult children this Christmas, and I can honestly say it was the hit of the holiday! As soon as they opened them, their faces lit up with excitement—it brought back so many nostalgic memories from their childhood. They were laughing, comparing pets, and instantly fell back into the rhythm of caring for their little digital companions. They were so into it, they didn’t even bother opening their other gifts right away! It was amazing to see how something so simple could spark so much fun and connection. It turned into a whole family moment full of laughter and stories from when they were kids. If you’re looking for a unique, joy-filled gift that mixes nostalgia with simple fun, a Tamagotchi is a perfect choice. It was worth every penny just to see their reactions—and now they’re all still playing with them like it’s 1997 again. Highly recommend for kids at heart of any age!

I never had a tamagotchi growing up, and totally missed out on the original craze back in the day. With these new re-releases though, I decided to pick one up - and oh boy, it's simple but I love it so much! I picked out the blue colored Amazon exclusive tamagotchi, purely because it comes with a plastic case, while the others do not. And I'm glad I did, as the case does protect the entire unit, and so far has done a great job of protecting it from getting damaged. I've dropped this several times, I accidentally stepped on it, and it got rained on a little bit when attached to my bag - so definitely like the case, even if it's just a plastic clip-on piece. Now for the tamagotchi itself - there is a bit of a learning curve, but after a day I figured it out. The instructions it came with were vague, so googling all my questions really made a difference. The programming on this is almost identical to the originals, it is fairly simple; definitely recommend to anuone new to taking care of a tamagotchi. Now my only complaint is that the device makes these awful and loud beeping noises every time you press a button, BUT you can turn it off by holding the A and C buttons at the same time. The tamagotchi will still make a sound when it needs something, though. I will eventually get another one in a different colors, as I did have a hard time picking out just one as my favorite!

It's fun and nostalgic, but kind of dumb after a while. I still keep playing it though! I've killed it 3x so far, but keep re-setting it to play again. Id get one if you want to try it out because I feel like it's pretty affordable!

I was so happy to see this pink glitter shell. The gameplay is simple and everything I remember from the 90s! …Alomst. If you want it to live a long and healthy life, do NOT give it the snack/ treat! EVER! I can see the screen in most lighting conditions, however it can be difficult sometimes. For what it is, I’m more than happy with my purchase. If you’re looking for a bit of nostalgia, or you want to see where tamagotchi started, then this is for you! If you’re too young to remember when they first came out, or of you’re used to color screens, and more options/ features then maybe not. I’m so glad Bandai brought back the originals, and even more glad that they introduced new shell designs pretty regularly (I never would have guessed they’d be on the market this long)!
