This worked like a charm on my Craftsman DYS riding mower. Well mostly. My mower didn't come with an alternator that had the extra regulator thing (the metal square with the black epoxy), but weirdly, there was the spot on the frame near the engine where it was supposed to go. Mine had diodes built into the cable that came directly from the alternator. Anyway, I attached it all and had to run a wire directly to the battery from the regulator thing, but once that little bit of DIY was done, the alternator works like a charm. I just have an extra wire in my particular mower. Would buy again. Works perfectly. The lower having a weird alternator setup was apparently indicative of only a couple of model years, but of yours has the diodes in the cable, this will still work, you just gotta run the cable directly to the battery yourself.
