Sea salt and Paper is a great little card game and this expansion adds a few more things to the mix. The added cards do not change the game dramatically but adds enough to being some more things to think about.

If you play the main game, this addition is a must. I never play without it now.

I was a little reserved in buying this, considering it costs half the price of the full game for essentially 8 cards, but it is cheap and adds really clever new ways of playing. I think the game, and now the expansion, are really well designed. My partner and I love playing this.

We love Sea Salt and Paper hence we bought the expansion, it’s a good little add on but it’s only a handful of cards considering the price, it adds a few extra pairings but maybe not enough to make it a game changer so we could have lived without but otherwise it’s a good addition. We’d recommend it.

Although we loved the base game and played it all one summer, I have to be honest and say that we have not played the expansion cards nearly as much. I think it just felt like the game didn't really need the extra complexity - the beauty was in the simplicity. I think the way to use this expansion might be to just remove ONE type of card from the base game - e.g. the octopus cards, or something else that you got bored with - and put in one type of card from the expansion set, just for a bit of variation. I THINK that would work OK. Otherwise I am not sure the expansion was that necessary to be honest.

£4.99 for 8 small pieces of card feels a bit disappointing. The half English, half French instructions is just wasteful - would have preferred a few more cards or at least more in English so all the players can read the reference easier. There's nothing wrong with these additions to the game, and they add some extra dynamics to play with - I just think there could be a bit more here, or at least half the price.

This arrived very quickly but I was disappointed to find that the image showing the cards included didn't truly reflect the cards received. Whilst the expansion cards were present, the photo in the product description shows 2 rules cards for the base game which I really wanted but they are not included.

A great edition to the original game! Really worth it if you like the game and want to change it up a bit
