These tie downs are pretty good. I purchase them to put up a portable movie screen outdoors, but I have also used it for other things. The tie downs are pretty durable, solid and easy to use. Securing them in a cinch. You just hook the snap hook D-rings to two separate, sturdy objects and then pull the rope, which if on a ratchet to secure it. There is no mechanical cracking, so you can only get it hand tight. To remove the tie down, you just pull the tab, that release the ratchet mechanism that in turn, loosens the tension on the rope.This tie down is perfect for small applications. I would not recommend it for securing anything to a car though. It is works great for holding up my screen up and other household applications such as a temporary clothesline. I am very happy with my purchase and recommend these tie downs.

Installation was straight forward.Very adjustable. I could use for a wider or smaller kayak. Ended up trimming much of the strap back. All good.It does take some effort, but I can lift my 78 lb Hobie Adventure 16' kayak to the ceiling of my garage. It's not a one handed event, but very functional. All the hardware seems fine.I would recommend this set up.

Far exceeded my expectations!Every once in a while I buy something that is a utility item that solves a mundane issue like tying down stuff in the back of my truck. In the past I’ve used simple cord string bought at Home Depot or ratcheting straps. Inevitably, the straps get tangled up and are a pain to use. Takes longer to untangle then try to connect to an anchor point than the time necessary to transport the stuff in the truck.These tie downs with ratcheting mechanism are fantastic. The hooks are perfect size to be able to attach to my tonneau tie down clips. And then I can attach the hook at the other end of the line to the hooks on my trailer hitch. Ratcheting the line and off I go.Today, I pulled these tie downs out and had my load secured in 2 minutes. Never got this done so quickly. What a great setup! Then when I was done with the tie downs, I put them right back into the ziplock bag they came in . Next time I need them, they’ll be at the ready.Great item! Versatile. I’ll get a ton of use out of them.

These things are great for so many purposes. I keep some in my car, to tie anything to the roof rack, like our kayaks or lumber. They're great in moving van or truck to secure a load. Today, I used them to install a rectabgular sun shade, which needed tensioning. These were ideal since I've read that over the next few weeks, the sun shade may stretch a bit, so these will allow easy tightening as needed. In time I may replace them with racheting hardware, but this is an easier & inexpensive way to test the shade out. These are simple to use: pull-to-tighten and release the lock to loosen.

Using them to tie my bike down to the carrier. They work, very tight.
