The Scorp Mini-2 is an update of the original Mini, and it's a super-solid performer. Once I got the firmware updates installed, I started testing features. I already had experience with this model, and the important thing I can add to this review is that the latest firmware brings this thing up to best-of-class performance. While you can use the app to address all of the features, it's also possible to do so via the touch-screen interface on the Gimbal. This works just like other Feiyu gimbals and gimbal-based mini cams...sliding your finger across the screen opens up different menus depending on where you slide. It's very logical once you get the hang of it. Battery life seems to be good when working with a heavy phone (a Samsung S22 Ultra in a case, for me). The gimbal absorbs a LOT of movement, and in particular, I like the pan-tilt mode very much. The gimbal behaves predictably, and I find it to be easily controllable and fluid in its responses. The AI assist for shooting solo is particularly good. While I don't do all that much of that type of shooting, I do some, and this is a great feature. When you shoot with the Feiyu cam app, you gain functionality from the various button/knob inputs on the device. Tying the Zoom to the side-knob is a particularly nice feature. You could also set it up to rack focus. And there are interesting scenarios built in, like a dolly-zoom simulation, etc. All very cool, if you're making social media content that benefits from very active camera attitudes. All in all, this is an outstanding gimbal for the price. It's about half the size of my Ronin S, which is overkill for small camera use. But that cost me almost $700 in the "kit" form, and this south of $150. It's very hard to argue with that kind of value. And frankly, the Ronin S did not live up to the stabilization smoothness of my Ronin M--AT ALL. So, I'm pretty pleased. My first gimbal cost me a pile of money. Now I can get more features for less than a tenth of the price. I'm particularly excited to see Feiyu delivering one good product after another. I love my little Pocket 3...it has great features, and is perfect for automotive shots, etc., with its light weight and magnetic bottom. Likewise, the Scorp Mini-2 puts together a comprehensive and fun feature set, that is equal parts functional and inspiring. I can't say enough good things about a product like that. Bravo. Five Stars. Review: got this to use with my phone, but the included phone holder is bad - Feiyu SCORP Mini-2 All-in-1 Gimbal Stabilizer for Mirrorless/Action Cameras and Smartphones. 1.3" OLED Touchscreen, Integrated AI Tracking. Compatible with GoPro 12/11, Canon, Sony, iPhone - Black coming from the scorp -c i was pretty excited for this, marketed to smaller cameras and phones. as my scorp c is a bit on the heavy side and kind of unwieldy, and the mini 2 does not dissappoint being a little more than half a pound lighter. so thats good its also not as big, the arms arent as wide feeling. but being as though i got this for a note 10+ a fairly decent sized phone i am a little dissappointed at the phone holder. it is integrated into the system well, but it is 1) a spring loaded catch, and 2) not deep enough in the pocket for a phone with a case. really? you want me to put my 1400$ phone with my entire life on it, into a spring loaded catch on a spinning ferris wheel device and not allow room for a protective case that i use all of the time even if i have it on my desk? why because who takes off the protective case. they dont let you swap batteries out anymore, so there is literally zero reasons to take the protective case off the phone to preserve its protectiveness. nah, it'll be fine. we made the phone holder mechanism just shallow enough to allow you to remove the protective case. oh and what? you have a proprietary base configuration so i dont have to buy a proper phone holder that clamp screws tight onto the phone and actually fits a protective case? good thinking feiyutech. alright so moving on. there are some changes to the design, 2 that stick out for me the ai tracking is pretty outstanding--there is an integrated camera and must have a computer or something reading what the camera sees to keep things dialed in, this is pretty fantastic. also, the new toggle joy stick is just better. its more like a video game joystick i guess, it may not be everyones cup of tea, but i rather like it. so, yeah sure pick one up. i know i complained a bit, but i have special needs, and worries and what not. and those things are easily solved, i will just use this with my nikon z7ii, which apparently can connect to the scorp mini via cable, so that it integrates the features in a better way. i really wanted this to be for my phone. i think i will end up modifying one of my proper clampable phone camera mounts to fit the proprietary track. its very cool, the tracking is next level. some dumb things but there are always some dumb things.

Best for lightweight cameras
I've been spoiled by the numerous DJI Ronin gimbals I've owned, so this Feiyu SCORP took a bit getting used to. It's a bit trickier to balance, especially if you're using a mirrorless full frame camera. (As other reviewers have suggested, it's probably best used with a smaller action camera or a smaller point and shoot.) It's got a separate dial which can be set up for smooth pans and tilts, which I like. Also, the handle on the top makes it easy to go into "flashlight mode" and transition into some great low angle shots. The extra pieces you need to attach means, unless you want to disassemble the gimbal before you pack it up, you won't be using the box it comes in as a travel case. It's a nice, small package, so it struggled a bit with my Sony A7Siii, even with a small 20mm lens. Despite that, there are a lot of good qualities to this gimbal...for smaller, lighter cameras.

Light, compact gimbal, integrated AI tracking, handles 2.7 lbs of phone, GoPro, light mirrorless cam
FeiyuTech SCORP Mini-2 is a gimbal with integrated AI tracking. It can carry a max payload of 2.7 pounds so it can handle lighter weight devices such as smartphones, action cameras (GoPro), compact cameras (ZV-E10), and some light mirrorless cameras (A6700). The gimbal itself is compact and very light at 1.9 lbs. The gimbal kit comes with every type of plate to attach your device to the gimbal, including: 1. fixed plate (for cameras) 2. slider (for cameras) 3. quick release plate + screw (optional for cameras) 4. lens holder + screw (optional for longer camera lens) 5. GoPro adapter + screw 6. smartphone holder On the gimbal handle and body there are many handy operation buttons such as power, trigger, mode, joystick, and shutter. For buttons like shutter to operate, you must connect the gimbal to your camera device via a cable or BT. The Mini-2 comes with a plethora of cables (eight) and hopefully one of them is a match and connects you. If not, use BT. Connecting to the gimbal with their smartphone app unlocks many features that you don't want to miss. You get settings, the gimbal remote control operation, parameter adjustments, and some built-in filming modes. I have an older Feiyu-Tech gimbal that has served me well and thought I would see how their new AI gimbals work. This mini-2 has a fantastic and easy to use AI intelligent tracking. You only need to learn two of the hand gestures to get started: turn AI tracking on/off (use one hand to make the "okay" gesture of first finger and thumb forming an "O" with three other fingers pointed up) and trigger the shutter (show palm with stiff fingers in the "stop" gesture). Put this gimbal on a tripod and you have the friendly AI as your cameraman. I'm only shooting using an older iPhone with a Moment case and lens but this gimbal makes the video look so professional with very stable shots at any angle, especially B-roll "footstep" shots that are enabled due to the extra handle for low shots. I highly recommend this gimbal for upgrading your mobile photography game.

It’s a little complicated for beginners.
I am a content creator and I run a small YouTube channel. I have been looking for a gimbal like this to help could keep my camera more steady than me just holding the camera with my hands when I’m filming outside. This seems to be a very high-quality gimbal. It feels very sturdy. It does a good job at holding my iPhone 15 pro max. It’s a nice gimbal and all but it is a little complicated for me. I think overtime I will get the hang of it. One of the coolest things that I like about this gimbal is the AI feature where you can use hand gestures to control it. This is the first gimbal that I have seen that does that. The battery power is decent. Overall, I think this is a pretty good gimbal, but I wouldn’t recommend it for beginners.

Great gimbal at a great price
Feiyu SCORP Mini-2 All-in-1 Gimbal Stabilizer for Mirrorless/Action Cameras and Smartphones. 1.3" OLED Touchscreen, Integrated AI Tracking. Compatible with GoPro 12/11, Canon, Sony, iPhone - Black This is a very well built camera gimbal for steady shot video. It is easy to use once you get it set up, however set up is not so straight forward. Fortunately there are videos to help you with that. The kit comes with several accessories to get you started with nearly any camera. It may say mini and it is in fact fairly compact, however it can easily handle any Sony camera and most Nikons and cannons. Including the Nikon z7 z6 and z8. It has remote function buttons that can help control the camera but it is not require red you use them. I really like the shape and placement of the handles and it is very easy to work with. Once you balance your camera you are good to go. I do recommend Prime lenses over zooms as the act of zooming often makes the lens barrel longer and changes the balance of the rig. The fact is this haas worked very well for me and it is a great price. It has a tone of features and I am grateful to have it. If you are in the market for a gimbal I recommend taking a good look at this.

Very Cool Device
This stabilizer has a lot going for it. The build quality feels very nice. The pivot points are all smooth and the controls have a good tactile feel to them. It was easily able to support the weight of my Sony mirrorless camera with its kit lens. It would not accommodate some of my larger lenses though, as the weight was too far from the mounting point. Setup is a little confusing, as the instructions are a little cryptic in spots. I was able to get it calibrated after some experimentation. If the calibration isn't dialed in, the motors might make some wild movements to compensate for certain inputs. It does power itself down automatically if it encounters too much motor resistance, though. After setup, I was able to jog around and use the pan control stick to get some very stable video. The face tracking worked fairly well, but faltered a bit in low light. Still, this is a very cool piece of kit.

Awesome small gimbal
I am going to mirror what everyone else so far has said about this gimbal. Be sure to charge it and read the directions first before you use it for the first time though. I charged it and unlocked what I thought were all of the areas to unlock to make it work. Turns out I missed one so it made some awful grinding noises and gave me a warning about unlocking it. Then after I found the one I missed, I turned it on again only for it to make some more weird noises that definitely didn't sound right. So I decided to mount my phone in it and it magically worked. I have never owned a legitimate gimbal before, but I was missing out. This thing is awesome. You can basically mount anything to it and it will stabilize your video. It seems very well built and put together too.
