I've purchased these twice, the first time I attempted to start them in pots and not one germinated. This year I planted them straight into the ground and had 100% success. I absolutely love munching on them while I work in the garden and it fills me with such delight to come inside with pockets full of them. I will be attempting to harvest seed for next year as well as letting some fruit fall and hoping they'll repopulate next year. I will say the seeds and seedlings need plenty of water to get going but after the second month I haven't watered them and they are booming.

I've never grown Cucamelon before and wanted to give it a try. I read that they are one of the most nutritious items I could plant in my garden. I started them in leftover (recycled) takeout plastic containers with half eggshells and organic soil. It only took 5 days and they were coming up to say hello! Within 2 weeks I was able to transplant. I am now waiting on them to get a little bigger and start to vine, and may add another photo later. Every seed that I planted sprouted, so overall I would say the ones I received in the mail were a 100% germination.

Do not buy! They don’t grow and when some of all seeds in the package grow they don’t produce anything.

These sprouted. Slow growth this year...witch I think is normal. My understanding is they create a tuber, that comes back stronger the second year. So I'm waiting to see.

Still waiting for a harvest. May be too delicate for zone 9b

I waited all summer to write this review!!! This is the coolest vegetable plant I’ve ever grown.. it is literally mini tomato sized cucumbers. I thought it would taste kinda sweet? But no, it’s a tiny cucumber in marble size lol they grow extremely fast once the plant starts branching out— I think it helped that I grew it on a garden arch so it allowed it to grow wherever it wanted + attach to my morning glory vines. I have gotten so much healthy fruit from just one plant!! On the downside, and this was for sure my error— don’t overwater it or your plant will slowly dry out. I live in Colorado and the weather is extremely harsh and unpredictable, specially during summers— this baby held up with rain, extreme heat waves, and hail!!! I still have a lot of seeds left so I am hoping I do a better job next season.

Tasty snacks! These things grow like crazy. My best suggestion is to train the vines up to waist high or higher then give them laterals. Otherwise, they get so thick and bushy you can’t find the fruits. At the end of the season, I let a few fruits fall to the ground and leave them to volunteer the next year! Zone 8b

Planted with a plan for 36 plants, so 2 seeds per cell even though they are very tiny. About 10 days later every single seed sprouted so I’ve actually got to weed some out and they are ready to transplant.
