Dependable cooler for refrigerated medication
I take medication that requires refrigeration. I travel a lot, often on a plane for 9 hours, plus additional land travel. This cooler holds my medication at temperature very reliably. Buy two power packs if you are on the road more than 5 hours. As far as portability, the cooler is not overly heavy, but it is somewhat awkward to carry. First, the cooler can slip out of the “pocket” type carrying case. It needs something to keep the cooler in that pocket from falling out. Second, the strap needs a redesign, so that the cooler doesn’t “tip” as it is being worn on the shoulder or across the body. However, the cooler is reliable and does a reliable job. I can fit several vials of medication plus syringes in it. I have a friend I recommended this cooler to, and she fits several injectable pens in hers.

This unit works well!
We were going on an extended trip to various national parks, and I knew we would be staying at places with electrical power but without a refrigerator, which is why I bought one of these. Wasn't sure what to expect, but this unit was a lifesaver! I used the frozen biogel pack while I was traveling by plane. We had several long car trips as we traveled, so I plugged into the car USB port and the temperature stayed good. When we stopped off for sightseeing on the way, I plugged it into my Anker portable battery and the temperature stayed within a safe range as well. At the lodges without refrigerators, I kept it plugged into the wall charger (after 4 days they tell you to turn it off for a short time to let the unit rest, then you can plug it back in). Overall, this worked as advertised and it made traveling much easier! I don't know how I could have kept my meds cool without it. I know this is a bit expensive, but believe me, it's well worth it for what it does. The only thing that I think could be improved is to add an alarm in case the power goes out. We stayed at one cabin where I had it plugged into a wall charger and the power went out during the night. Fortunately, my husband woke up and realized it and called the management office to have them reset the power, otherwise I wouldn't have known until morning. I highly recommend it!

Works better than advertised
I was a little skeptic about this before purchasing but I'm sold on it now. I was worried that it would only work a limited time but after I got through the first two days of constant use, I felt much more comfortable that it would work as advertised. We just took it on a 4 week trip out of the country, and it was perfect. There were times when the rooms we stayed in did not have a refrigerator, and this unit kept the drugs at the correct temperature for days at a time, plugged into an outlet. One time this unit ran for 5 days in a row without missing a beat. With the battery pack they sell for it, it was more than ample for our flights and travel time that lasted over 24 hours. We were able to plug it into the airplane seat while flying to help save the battery, but I was not worried about it holding up. I'm able to get 6 glass vials of the medication in this unit. Helpful tip: carry a thermometer with you that you can use to check the room refrigerator temp. We found multiple refrigerators in hotel rooms that would only cool to 50 degrees, not cool enough for the medication we carried. I would highly recommend this cooler.

Great, But Doesn't Play Nice w/ Popular Battery Packs
This device is great and does what it is suppose to do; keeps the medication cold.HOWEVER, it doesn't reliably stay on with various battery packs from popular brands. Like a real fridge, the device cycles on and "off" for cooling. As it cycles on and "off", the power draw changes from 5V - 1.00A to 5V - 0.09A. If you read most battery packs, they specify they need 0.03A - 0.09A to stay on, otherwise auto shut-off happens. Because this is right at the limit, a lot of battery packs shut-off with this cooler when the cooler is in "off" cycle. My easy fix was that by using a voltage meter in-line, it added like 0.02A to the overall draw and now the cooler stays on because the draw overall is 0.11A. The meter I got was like $10 on Amazon.

This little cooler did it's job
I needed to keep my Mounjaro cool while on a 2 week trip. After reading about this unit and researching I bought it with hopes it would work. I laid out my plan on how to get my meds thru all stages of my trip and everything went smoothly. My meds stayed cool and the unit worked like a champ. Here's what I did for my situation: froze the gel pack and used it to get thru the airport and fly to my destination. Result - meds were still cool when I arrived after 12 hours of travel. When I arrived I switched to the cooling unit (I didn't use it to fly solely because I would have had to keep the unit out of my carry-on to allow constant air flow and I didn't have the ability to do that on the plane). The cooling unit ran for 2 weeks - plugged in to maintain charge - and kept my meds cool. I'm very impressed and happy to have found this.

Look to getting a different neoprene case for this cooler.
The product certainly works well to keep medication refrigerated enough, but not too much. So it works. What I don't like is the neoprene case that comes with it or the charger to plug in the wall. I've replaced both. The neoprene case is too small be be particularly effective and it doesn't hold a larger battery well. The case that comes with the Nomad Big is far better for this product and it's the one I use for it. It's a better fit and has a larger pocket for the battery. While we were traveling recently, we had to stay on battery for about 15 hours. The larger battery than the one available from 4ALLFamily fit into the Nomad Big pocket just fine, but won't fit into the one that comes with this unit. If I didn't have the Nomad case, I would have bought a water bottle carrying bag/case with pocket for the unit. I'm using the case from this unit for the Nomad Big. (I use the Nomad Big on day hikes.)The charger plug should have a retractable prong set that folds into the cube to make it easier and safer to pack when you're on battery. So, this is a good review, and with some changes by 4ALLFamily it could be a great review.

Great for travel
Needed a way to travel with insulin and other injectible meds while keeping them cold. The ice pack is good for a day trip, but the USB powered cooler is great for longer trips. I used it for a week on a cruise and it kept the meds nice and cold. It is really quiet while plugged in. They say to only use it with their battery pack, but I have used it with an Anker power bank and it worked fine.

Amazing and well worth the cost!
Perfect for airport travel with medication needing to be refrigerated! TSA still has to check, but all the airports were great! The product works well with the freezer pack. The plug in version was a bit more difficult as it requires a large battery pack , which we luckily had.

Mfg!
