I use these to make extension cords from old appliance cords. And they are fine! I admit I was skeptical after reading reviews for these from other vendors. So many complaints. So let's address them. "Screws too small. May not hold when pulled out by cord". Dude, You are NOT supposed yank them out by the cord!"They don't look "heavy duty enough"". They aren't! They're rated for 15 amps. I have no doubt they'll handle that just fine! "The screws are not COLOR CODED".. True, they are not. But if you can't tell common from hot without colored screws.... you shouldn't be installing these in the first place!Bottom line, if you want heavy duty, be prepaired to spend 5 to 7 bucks each. These are $7.00 for THREE. They are a great deal. I will definitely buy them again!

Very solid materials for a cheap product but there's no instructions and the pieces fall out easily, making it hard to reassemble, they're not very clear which part goes where either.

Kind of hard to connect the wires. It almost takes two (2) people to complete the hook up. Not really but it is very difficult!

Very hard to connect the wires to the poles. I am an amature electrician but even I can tell these were not made well.I returned them and got another brand that had proper connection points that could handle tugging on the cord.

The hole is 3/8 inch in diameter so it will fit a heavy gauge cord like for a lawnmower. I installed it on a vacuum cleaner cord after sliding a short piece of plastic hose over the cord to take up space and fit snugly. There is no kind of clamp to hold the plug to the cord. The screw on the prong isn't big enough to attach a thick wire to it like a lawnmower cord. After you screw the wire to the prong you have to fit the wire into the hook on the prong so the wire is out of the way or the plug won't slide all the way into it's housing. It took me a few minutes to figure that out. For my first attempt at assembly I tied an Underwriters Knot to keep the cord from pulling out, but after a few failed attempts I undid the knot so I was sure the plug would slide all the way into the housing. Done. It works. I'm turning old vacuum cleaner cords into extension cords.
