Should I be concerned?
When I opened the jar it smelled strongly of oranges. A pleasant scent, so it didn't concern me. I have been taking these for a while and just reordered, but I was was curious about the scent so I went back to the listing. I don't see anywhere that an orange or citrus scent is mentioned except for some negative reviews claiming that the product is rancid. I just tried calling the company (number on the back of the jar) and the recording instructs customers to email them. There's no option to speak with anyone. Hmm. AI is telling me that the scent can be from the ingredients turmeric or coconut MCT oil. I've never noticed an orange scent with either of those, but I just read "if pure MCT oil smells like oranges, this is likely caused by added flavor or oxidation (rancidity). Eww. I will email them and hopefully hear back soon...
