Great techincal trail running shoe
Did several trail runnnig races on muddy, rocky technical conditions, including Ultra trail Fitz Roy in Patagónia ( 25- 44Km). Wide option is confy, did not get one blister. Handles well technical terrain uphill and downhill. Traction is good. Foot are well secure. Sole logs seems to last way more than speed goat 5. Upper sole is resistant with good enough toe protection. They dry fast after crossing several water crosses. It has not the heel cushing of Caldera 6, but Caldera did not have enough space in the toe box for me, nor the wide option either. Great trail running shoe.

Perfect for long hikes.
10/10. Complete shoe! I just did a 5 day climb of Mt. Kenya (17,000 ft) and it kept dry and warm (with good socks) the entire time. Rain, snow, mud, scree. Awesome traction, light weight, comfortable. I was nervous climbing in harsh conditions without boots but i’d go with these again and again. Fits true to size but make sure they’re broken in before any significant usage. I did light hikes for a few months beforehand and had zero blisters.

Looks nice, feels good, but it’s not perfect
I’ll start by saying I’m not a trail runner. I bought this as a travel shoe for an upcoming trip, but I am a seasonal worker at Glacier National Park as of this writing, so I have put it to work on some trails since getting it. It’s pretty comfortable and, while it doesn’t have the ankle pad supports that my proper hiking boots have, it doesn’t seem to matter that much. One gripe I have is that, while I like the colors of the one I bought (with the bright yellow/orange sole and white/blue body), I would’ve loved if it were available in some more traditional colorways like all white or black. More subtle, basically. But I could’ve picked another brand for that so I won’t dock them because of it. Another gripe is they are a little heavy, at least compared to the On Cloud 5s that I own and used as urban shoes before this, nor quite as comfortable. That said, these shoes are not rock magnets like the On shoe is, so that’s a big plus. I’ve also noticed that the grip isn’t great on wet rocks. Not a huge deal breaker for me, but it’s worth noting. Not displeased with my purchase, but I do think I probably could’ve found another shoe that fits what I wanted a little better had I searched more. This one is good enough, though, that I’ll just stick with it.

Perfect for Disc Golfing!
I got these shoes to be my all weather shoes for disc golfing. I have tried many different kinds of hiking and athletic shoes but these so far have been the best! They are most definitely waterproof (so no more waterproof socks!) but still very comfortable and breathable! They fit perfectly for my normal shoe size and provide good neutral support. Also the toe box is not too narrow or wide, which is something I've had issues with on other hiking shoes. I haven't had any issues with traction or slipping at all, although when I first got them I did notice in particular for disc golfing the traction was so good that my foot would at times struggle rotating as I threw, which cause some knee pain. It went away as the shoe broke in though. I am a lifelong Brooks shoe supporter and these definitely live up to the name! They are definitely worth the price to get something that won't break down quickly like most other shoes I've tried.

Passed my expectations!
I’ve been an Altra Lone Peak guy since version 1. The quality/durability has went way down (130miles shoes dead) so decided to try a proven workhorse shoe. Now this shoe if obviously very different from my usual more barefoot design but I have the 1st 5k trail run down in them and I'm seriously impressed. WHAT I’VE NOTICED: 1 Stability- is a 10 out of 10. The trail I ran today threw a lot of narrow, tapered down and big quick decents. This shoe hooked up unbelievably downhill. Plant the foot and I just slowed to a manageable speed. Amazing! 2. Comfort- Rock solid (pun intended) support. Didn’t have ANY pain post run. Stepped directly on rocks and roots and literally barely noticed them. Toe guard worked amazing as I snagged a root and felt zero pain (would have killed with my Lone Peaks). 3. Mobility- they felt a little stiff for the 1st mile but opened up very nicely and really started to mimic my foot well. 4. Speed- they felt very slow but I guess it was a mentality thing because I beat my PR for this trail by over 3 minutes. On only a little 5k that’s remarkable. “Slow is smooth and smooth is fast” I noticed much more but don’t want to drone on forever on how impressive these shoes quite literally are. 45 years old- Variable mountain terrain- Minus 3 minute PR-

Really want to like these
Firstly, I'm a Brooks fan. I've had some foot problems with other shoes and Brooks are the ONLY shoes that I'm able to wear all day long. Having said that, these shoes aren't their best effort. I'm not a huge fan of the color range, I'm a traditionalist that likes mostly black or white shoes. Also, the fabric "loops" at the top of the shoe aren't a very good method to tie the shoe. One of the loops has already started to tear-off and I've only had these for about a month. They're also just a smidge too tight on one of my feet. Like I said earlier, I really want to like these shoes because I'm such a huge Brooks fan. I'm hoping the poor craftsmanship on these are a "one-off", so I gave them 3 stars instead of 2.
