I've used this anchor a handful of times with a 23' bay boat, and it's worked great each time. It's constructed well, quite heavy, and easy to use. At the risk of pointing out the obvious, take care not to pinch yourself in the area where the handle slides against the base (even when just handling or putting away)... ask me how I know ;) It's easy to hammer fully into the sand, and retrieving is just as easy, yet it holds very strong (since the rode is pulling right at the base/ground). I like that it stores aways easier than a conventional anchor. It's a great solution for a bow anchor at the sandbar (and frees your regular anchor for the stern, where needed).

Solid. Works good. Anchored my proV 1900 in the sand while I was beach camping for a week. Tested in some good winds but nothing crazy. Went and adjusted it a couple of times

These spikes are fabulous. So easy to pound into the sand and reverse to unlodge. My handicapped wife can even set them with no problem and she can drive the spike in easier than using a hammer at home. The spike holds my 22' pontoon and doesn't slip at all. Attaching the line down low to the sand prevents any waves from pushing it loose. I highly recommend this product to anyone who owns a boat.
