I don't know the answer. We actually use this to clean our dog's teeth, as he easily breaks standard toothbrushes. This model is built stronger. BTW, they also make a model wherein you can replace just the brush head and its stem, so you can reduce plastic waste.

Once you get used to these normal brushes feel absolutely rubbish.

These brushes feel odd at first - just give them a fair try and you will be amazed. They naturally lead to good brushing of gums as well as teeth but they are gentle enough to make this enjoyable. Very expensive but worth it and your dentist will probably mention the good effect on your gums and teeth - mine did.
