Hideez Key: Bluetooth Password Manager & Vault, Universal Security Key & RFID Token - Matte Black

On Windows, the hideez safe application works perfectly, entering usernames, passwords, OTPs, locking and unlocking the PC etc. Couldn't be a happier bunny. The Android app however, a completely different story. Everytime you press the button to ask it to fill in a username or password, the app crashes. Completely useless on Android until this is fixed. This is on Android 8.0.0 on a Samsung Galaxy S8+ The Hardware is very nice, compact and reliable and switches between devices very smoothly. If it wasn't for the android app, I'd give this 5 stars but 4 is all I can give it for now.

This requires a Hideez account to work. I work in many environments where an internet connection is not allowed. If a connection to a website is required then security cannot be Garuanteed. I was reviewing this as an alternative to Gatekeeper. So far it doesn't compare.

OK First thing to note is that their dev team is based in Kiev and the R&D is in the USA, this can lead to comms issues which maybe the reason why when I setup my Hideez (which I've since returned) I could not get it to automatically enter passwords on an iPhone X and iOS. This wouldn't have been so bad had I been able to copy and paste the PWD from their Hideez App - but right now it doesn't let you do this. Finally - I had around 50 passwords stored in 1Password that Hideez is meant to be able to import form/support. After I exported these as a CSV, Hideez's 1Password import routine failed/crashed. SO I go online and chat to Hideez. They suggested that I send my CSV to them with the PWDs changed. I politely declined. The Hideez key can work with many devices hence if you have bound it to a Mac then want to use it with a smartphone you have to do a 2 second button press to switch between - not ideal either. I'll stick to 1Password for the time being.

This is a great little device if you use Chrome, but it doesn't work with Firefox.

I had great difficulty getting this working and paired even with the support of Hideez. Finally down to two duff batteries sent with the unit. Once changed and ALL other bluetooth switched off to get pairing working, it does the job very well. Versatile and seemless. PS once paired all bluetooth items cause no problem. Recommended. However.... P&P of £15 is a rip off for such a lightweight item, AND make sure you get Version 2 not 1 if you want RFID as I don't think V1 has RFID

Update: I bought another device for myself in case I lose the original and I couldn't have been happier with both devices. This is a product by a Ukranian guy and he definitely knows what he is doing. Great product. I am very happy with everything and I have already recommended this product to my friends and family! THIS IS THE ONLY PRODUCT EVERYWHERE TO SUPPORT PROXIMITY WINDOWS LOGON LOCK!!! THIS IS A VERY VERY CONVENIENT FEATURE and it is beautifully implemented in this one. I also love the password manager, RFID capabilities and the hot-button. Great! Thank you!

Mi aspettavo funzionasse offline, invece richiede la registrazione al sito del fornitore e la connessione attiva per loggarsi nel proprio account, senza login non é possibile utilizzare le varie app. Mi chiedo quale garanzia io abbia nel memorizzare i miei dati, cosa succede se per qualsiasi motivo la casa produttrice chiudesse? Come potrei accedere alle mie password se i server a cui si connettono le app andassero offline? A questo punto molto meglio un servizio come Roboform che volevo sostituire appunto con questa chiavetta.

I was very disappointed to find out that this product is not supported for Apple products. After many attempts to set it up, I requested support, and was notified that they haven't supported Apple products for several years. Unfortunately, I spent so much time trying to make it work, thinking I was doing something wrong or missing a step, that I went past the return period, so this was a big waste of money for me. Apparently the ad I read, which enticed me to buy this product, was a couple of years out of date.

So, i just got it yesterday. I was under the impression it would "automatically enter logins and passwords" like it says...however, you have to click in the box with the mouse, then pick up the device and click the button twice, in order for it to enter credentials. Not a huge deal i guess...but just a little deceiving by the videos and advertisements. Also...it is difficult to pair to devices i had to go through their steps 2 or 3 times on each device to get it to pair. I've been trying all day to get it to pair with my tablet, i downloaded the BLE checker, it says its compatible, but it will not pair for anything....still no luck. Lastly...it appears you have to manually type in the credentials you want to save on each device...for example...your amazon app, you have to type in the username and password on your phone hideez app, and again on your tablet hideez app...the app doesn't appear to communicate or sync via "your account" between devices. What this means, is, it takes a long time to truly get it set up with your devices.

While it was not the easiest thing to get setup, once I got the passwords, OTP, and the screen lock working it has been fantastic. I even bought the program so I could program my HID card into this device. I only wish the password manager software was better in that it would allow me to decrypt the stored passwords or get the code for the TOTP so I could put it on another device. It has improved since I first purchased and buy these for my friends and employees.
