Shark NeverChange Air Purifier, HP152, Charcoal

I run this in an older house that always had that damp, musty mold smell, and this thing made a real difference within the first day or two. The air feels cleaner and the stale odor is mostly gone the odor-neutralizer and HEPA-exceeding filter clearly pull mold spores, dust, and that "old house" smell out of the air. It handles a large room easily and runs quietly enough to leave on all day. The best part long-term is the NeverChange filter up to 5 years, so I'm not buying replacement filters every few months like with other purifiers. That alone makes it worth the price. One honest note: a purifier cleans the air, it doesn't fix the source. It knocked down the smell and airborne spores dramatically, but if you have active mold, still track down the moisture/leak causing it — this is the perfect companion to that, not a substitute for it. Bottom line: if an old house feels stuffy or smells musty, this clears it up fast and saves you money on filters. Highly recommend.

This is definitely worth the money! I bought it to help keep the allergens out of the air for my preemie baby when we brought her home! It works amazingly and tells you how clean your area is and it also has an odor neutralizer that you can replace to keep the air fresh! It’s super quiet and has helped keep my allergies at a minimum! Super great product!

This air purifier has been perfect for our open living, dining, and kitchen area. I originally bought it for our kitchen renovation to help with all the dust in the air, and it gave me so much peace of mind. It also turned out to be a lifesaver during the recent wildfires. The smoke and smog were terrible, and every time we opened the door, it seemed like more would drift inside. I loved being able to watch the air quality numbers change on the display as the purifier detected the smoke and automatically adjusted to clean the air. The Auto Mode is one of my favorite features because it only works as hard as it needs to instead of running on high all day when no one is home. We chose the black color, and it looks great with our decor, but I'll probably buy the white one for our bedroom. Another huge bonus is that I don't have to constantly replace the filter like I do with my other air purifiers. Overall, this has exceeded my expectations. I'd absolutely buy it again—in fact, I probably will. 10/10!

I don’t write love letters to appliance... but if I did, this Shark air purifier would be the main character. I keep the 650 sq. ft. unit in my bedroom, and I can’t stress this enough: it’s amazing. Like 'how did I live with out this' amazing. Im a home cook who loves to pan fry and occasionally burn things with my air fryer, so the air in my house gets real. But the second this thing senses even the slightest shift in air quality, it kicks into high gear. Auto mode is where the magic lives, I don’t touch a thing, it just knows 🦈✨ What really got me was the first time I styled my hair. The purifier went bright red 🔴 I thought it was broken. Nope! it was reacting to my hair products and heat styling. Which frankly, is terrifying but also kind of iconic. It knows things I don’t want to know, like how much air pollution I cause just by existing. And during wildfire season on the West Coast? This thing is a superhero 🦸‍♀️ The air quality dips, and the purifier responds instantly. The fan ramps up, the lights shift, and I can actually feel the difference. It’s dramatic in all the right ways. The fact that the filter lasts five years? That’s the cherry on top 🍒 I don’t have to subscribe to anything, order replacements, or even think about it. I just wipe down the outer screen once in a while, and that’s it. Easy, free, and low maintenance, which is right up my alley. And despite all the heavy lifting it does, it’s whisper quiet. I’m a light sleeper and even on high settings, it doesn’t bother me. The lights dim too, so no glowing spaceship effect at night 🌙 Just clean, quiet air while I sleep. I loved it so much, I bought the larger 1400 sq. ft. version for downstairs. No hesitation. This thing sold me on Shark for life. Is it cheap? No. But it’s worth every single penny 💸 It’s efficient, smart, and doesn’t ask for much. If you cook, style your hair, live near wildfire zones, or, you know... breathe! this is your sign. Get one. HP152 - After 3 months of use, I regret my choice of this unit. My main purpose was to reduce dust levels in our bedroom, approx. 20'x13' or 260 sf. This unit is well oversized per the manufacturer's specs. Pros: It is fairly quiet. Lower speeds very quiet but gets noisy on higher speeds. Easy to read display and to use the various options. Kicks into high speed when using my hair blow dryer, hair spray, or perfume spray from a distance of approx. 20' away. Aesthetically nice looking unit. Easy to access filter and pre-filter screens. Cons: Does not pick up dust well at all. If it were left on high speed, it probably would do better with dust but also use the filter much faster and much noisier. Too noisy to sleep with at high speed. Automatic does nothing for dust but collects it on top of the unit. Even larger specks of dus,t easily seen on furniture, don't seem to kick the speed up at all. If left on automatic the fan stays off when not detecting anything which is how the filter may last up to 5 yrs. I was told this when I called Shark Support about it not detecting dust, who seemed to be reading from something. If the fan is not continually working then it would be ineffective on dust. I've only vacuumed the side filter screens once during the past 3 months. They have hardly collected anything; only a very small amount at the bottom. I don't understand how the unit readily detects hair spray, blow dryer, etc. from a distance but not dust which seems to be a larger particulate size. I leave the unit on 2 or 3 during the day and turn it down at night. Not ideal. I think it's best for odors or things with a very small particulate size vs larger size like dust. Unfortunately, does not work well for my intended purpose. Edit: Have decided to return larger HP301 unit since it doesn't work well for my intended purpose. Keeping smaller HP152 since return window closed.

Works well for all those kitchen smells and cat stuff. It has auto mode, which has come on when door opened and outdoor air quality registered poor. That’s when I knew it was actually detecting air quality. It’s short so less obtrusive and you can turn air recycle up or down. Noise level on low is a quiet whoosh.

We haven’t had this for long but so far it’s working well. We have one for our living room and another for our family room. We did some research to see what size we would need for our rooms, and this was perfect for our size rooms. The touch controls are easy to operate and understand. There are different fan speeds as well as auto, along with different timer settings. The fan is quiet even on the higher setting. Then we cook or on July Fourth when all the smoke from the neighborhood fireworks made the air quality in the house go into the 70-80% range, it brought it back to 100%.

This air purifier has made a noticeable difference in my house, especially with pets and occasional smoke. I have animals and have also fostered a dog, so there’s always some level of dander, fur, and new smells coming into the space — and this has helped keep the air feeling much cleaner and fresher. I also noticed it responds quickly to smoke. You can actually see it kick into higher gear, and within a short time the air feels normal again, which is really impressive. It runs quietly, is easy to use, and doesn’t feel bulky. With the added unpredictability of a foster dog in the mix, this has honestly been a game changer for keeping the house feeling clean and comfortable. Definitely worth it if you have pets or deal with smoke. My husband smokes cigars in the house so we needed something heavy duty for air purification!!
