I almost returned this paper cutter because I couldn't figure out how to lock the blade arm in the closed position. I am planning on having this in my elementary school art room, so the locking feature is a must (even though it will be kept out of the students reach). I know I'm not the only person who couldn't figure it out because I read some other reviews. Well, if you watch the video on the Amazon product page it will show you how to do it. You gently pull the arm outward (away from the paper board) and then push it down and allow it to latch into place against the paper board. Some of you super-smarties probably figured this out on your own... but having directions come with the product (mine didn't come with directions) would really help. Other than that - I really love it. It cuts well. I love the placement of the ruler in the middle of the board as opposed to at the top. It is super light and easy to transport - I can't stand the heavy ones that can't quickly be moved about the room. AND, it does have the safety locking feature after all :)

This paper cutter is a joke, a piece of crap. It won't cut thru three pieces of paper let alone what it advertises. I've had it 4 months and the arm has broken twice. I thought I fixed it once with super glue but it didn't work. Flimsy. I will not rate it. When it broke the arm is up and can't be lowered unless you've taken it apart and i wouldn't take it as a return like that. Plastic sucks.

Very useful for me

Fairly recent purchase so review is based on light use. It appears to cut nicely. A little concerned that the main parts are made of what appears to be light-weight plastic. The handle has to be completely raised to get the paper completely under the blade and it seems to get stuck at the handle. Giving it a four since it hasn't been used much yet and am a little concerned about the long term durability. Will be using for paper crafting so may work great for this type of light cutting.

Decent the handles plastic and it broke only had for a month

I was a bit concerned how it would do but overall I am satisfied with this product. It is super simple to use. Does regular paper great! If you’re using cardstock or trying to get precise lines you have to do it one page by page. If you’re cutting off laminate then at the very end there’s a little spot that doesn’t get cut but you can flip the page and cut it off no issues. Overall price=value so I’m very satisfied.

It cuts great, is lightweight but effective. The only suggestion is the measurements at the top should be in white as you need good light to see them as too dark.

I ordered this trimmer mainly to cut chipboard because my other 5 much more expensive trimmers do not cut chipboard clean and easy. I found out about it through a youtube tutorial. It arrived much faster that it was originally announced. The carton was slightly damaged but the item was intact. It was so light and so flimsy looking that I was sure I have to send it back. The first couple of trials are beyond my expectations. It cuts the chipboard like butter. I have no idea how it will be in 6 months and after cutting lots of pieces but at the moment it is really awesome, not to mention the sexy pretty color
