LISTEN UP!
I only have this radio for a short time and although I am not yet familiar with all the features that it has I can express my thoughts on a number of the options that I am using. This radio is fast becoming my constant companion and it can't be beat for such great quality at an affordable price. This compact AM/FM/ SHORTWAVE/WB radio is perfect for me. I'm up in years and my eyes are not as sharp as they once were. The large, easy to read BACKLIT DISPLAY is a great help. I have arthritis in both hands and it's difficult for me to make a fist so weight really matters. The fold down handle makes it easy for me to cradle the unit in either hand and this unit weighs less than 3lbs even with 4 "D" batteries. I really like the weather band, WB is the same as NOAA which is the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. I live in the northeast section of the USA and the weather here changes quickly and constantly. I always check the weather throughout the day and especially when I'm planning to leave the house. This station gives accurate up to the minute weather information for any region you're interested in. The HEADPHONE JACK comes in handy as I like to listen to shortwave stations late at night. I have listened to stations in Italy, France, Germany, Mexico, So. America and Canada, although I don't always understand what they're saying. That's when I use the SLEEP TIMER as I sometime fall asleep that late. I can set the timer for up to 90 minutes. I also use the headphones so as not to disturb others and again when I'm on the computer. I don't normally need the ANTENNA except when I'm on shortwave. I'm amazed at how many stations that I can pick up. The SEARCH feature is a great help and once I tune in on a station I use the MEMORY button to save it. (A shortwave frequency list and SHORT-WAVE.INFO is available on the internet.) A USB cord is included to charge the internal lithium battery and you can switch power from the internal battery to the "D" batteries. The display alerts to how much power is available from either source. There is also a slot for a SD card so that you can access your favorite recordings through the radio's speaker. I had to give up watching football because I don't want to pay for the high cost of subscription TV stations. When I received this radio I realized that I am able to listen to the play by play of the games in real time. I have listed some of the reasons why I really like and enjoy this radio. I suggest that when you get this radio you take the time to go through the enclosed User Manual as it is all inclusive and explains each and every feature in easy to follow detail. I highly recommend this unit and will probably have to purchase another one if my nephew doesn't stop borrowing this one.

Pleasantly Surprised
I used to have an extensive collection of portable radios. I had all kinds from Grundig, GE Super Radio, Panasonic RF-888, Sony, Realistic, JVC, CC Radio. I stopped listening to the radio and when I moved to much smaller quarters, they went away. I recently purchased a small multiband digital radio and programmed the FM section. Lately, I have been listening to rock FM broadcasts worth listening to. I simply turn the dial of that radio and it goes to the next programmed station quickly, and there is almost always a reason to stop and listen. This radio is not that difficult to program. I did not look at the directions because from what I have read, they are in broken English. I did figure out the programming with little to no difficulty. There are three buttons, Memory, P+ and P- Once programmed, to quickly toggle between saved stations, simply hit the P+ or P- button and the tuner will go to the next saved station. I am amazed at how we can get a 2" speaker to sound like a 5" speaker. The radio has full-sized sound that is reminiscent of my original Panasonic which only operated on DC C cells and had a 4" speaker. The two position tone control works, actually does something. The FM sensitivity and selectivity are good. The AM sounds good, but not tested at night yet. AM seems to be good and it has above average sound as well. The weather band receives two frequencies. Overall, Initially, I am pleased with this purchase.

Good radio, poor instructions
This radio resides in my workshop and provides pretty good reception given the location. The large speaker gives a good bass thump for a small radio. I really like the option of the national weather channel to alert me during bad weather here in northern New Mexico. However, to my major complaint, I do not like the layout of the "buttons", and reading the poor instructions takes patience. In all honesty, I generally play only one station so the button problem is somewhat minimized. Fair price, good volume, terrible navigation.

Tuned in the weak station!!
I've had Prime since they hijacked the Yankee games and never submitted a review. (The thieving... ) - Ordered this Used-Like New fulfilled by Amazon. It gets the Yankee game! It gets the Yankee game on that real weak Rock station that's blocked out here by hills, huge power lines and especially by those crappy, cookie-cutter Country stations and lying radio preachers spouting politics. Go, DSP chip!! Good-enough sound, emergency weather on short-wave, an MP-3 player. Maybe I can get Hendrix Star Spangled Banner and play it during Yankee game commercials? No high fidelity, no USB. Just reception, Jack. And an earphone jack that switches between mono and stereo electronically. Don't know why, could be important.

This radio is junk
I am greatly disturbed that Amazon would actually sell such a crap product as this defective "radio". The specific reason for the product's complete failure is provided below. This part of my message is that somehow quality control has failed at Amazon to the extent that you are selling crap not "fit for purpose". The problem is that this failure makes me suspect other similar products from you. If this is extensive enough , or, goes on long enough, customers like me may have to abandon purchases using Amazon and it could effect your reputation. If I were you, I would look into the practices of the purchasing department, and, the quality control dept ( if you have one). My findings. Note that I have worked for over 40 years as a physicist and engineer so I am knowledgeable regarding design problems. I tested the radio a little bit over three days thinking that I could figure it out. It looked like a radio; the user guide discussed all the buttons, I charged it properly. But, alas, the radio is crap. 1) the radio has virtually no sensitivity. I live in the NYC area and expect perhaps 200 + AM stations to be received with clarity. Instead, a scan shows up only about 6 - and most of them have high static. TOTAL FAILURE. It will not even tune to all the most powerful transmitters in NY. 2) the SW band produced no stations. 3) the weather band receives one station with much static (from NY Harbor < 45 miles away). It takes at least 15 minutes to manually tune to it. 4) the procedure for scanning and setting stations is totally unworkable. It follows the user manual so both are useless. 5) If I want to set up presets I have to attempt to do it manually - but it is impossible because only one station out of 40 (useless) presets can be selected at one time. Each time I want to select a new station I have to run through perhaps 40 presets and it takes a long time. In other words, presets do not work. It does not matter anyway because either the station I want is not there or is full of static. Using the scan to select presets just finds very static stations but cannot find all the strong stations in this area. I am not returning it because it is not worth my time. I do not want your money. Instead it went into the trash. At this time I simply do not trust Amazon with electronic items so will find a more trustworthy supplier for this kind of product.

Nice Radio
For a $35 radio, this is surprisingly nice. Of course it's not a world-class Grundig or a perfect sounding Bose, but FM reception is very good, hi-lo pitch switch is okay, volume is adequate. (FM reception is best in non-stereo mode.) Headphone listening works well with much improved audio, of course. You have to use wired headphones, there's no bluetooth. Weather band works, and it promises to let me know if a weather alert occurs. The mp3 player works fine from a micro TF/SD flash card or from USB-A. There's no track information displayed, but you can skip tracks forward or back. I don't know if SW works, I can't find a station -- probably needs a better antenna. My big surprise, however, is the built-in rechargeable battery. Simply plug in the USB-C connector with the battery switch set on Li-ION and it charges, no added batteries required. I don't know how large the internal battery is, but I listened to MP3 music for an hour, and the battery indicator still showed full.

The radio works fine but disappointed with the shortwave radio feature
The radio works fine but disappointed with the shortwave radio aspect of it. I got this as a gift for my father for Christmas. The radio has a decent sound quality. It picks up stations on AM and FM stations. The charging feature is nice. Great if the power goes out and you done habe back up bateries. I was disappointed with the short wave radio. It did not pick up any stations. My father tried various locations to see if that made a difference. Nothing worked. Decent radio for using AM and FM stations. I do like the charging feature too. Would I buy this again? No, probably not knowing what I know about the Shortwave feature.
