High-Performance Dive Watch with Unmatched Versatility and Safety Features
I recently took the Mk3i with me to the Philippines for diving, and it exceeded my expectations. The battery life is outstanding, and it performed flawlessly during my SCUBA dives. I paired it with the wireless air pod for my tank, which allowed me to monitor my air supply or track a less experienced diver—an excellent safety feature, even though the pods are a bit pricey. I opted for the larger model with a built-in flashlight, which I initially thought I wouldn’t use but now rely on all the time. The red light mode is especially useful for staying visible when walking on dark streets at night. With so many features packed into this watch, it’s a top-tier dive computer and more. The only small downside is that the buttons can be too easily pressed, but it's not a deal-breaker. If you can invest in it, I highly recommend it for its versatility, durability, and safety-enhancing features.

chose this over fenix 8
I've worn a Garmin watch for more than a decade, starting with the forerunner 920xt, fenix 5, 6, epix 2. the consolidation of all my health stats and activities in one place and the amount of detail is unmatched by any other tracker I chose the descent because I'm getting into diving. at first I thought the fenix 8 was right for me but the air integration is a must. helps you track your air consumption in much more detail (see the reviews for the descent t2 transmitter) the fenix 8 is also limited to recreational depths, and if you remotely think you might want to get into tec diving or deeper depths, you need the descent as someone who also tracks all runs, bike rides, hikes, workouts etc, the descent is the closest thing to the perfect daily companion the only minor downside is that the screen is not quite as large as dedicated high end dive computers like the shearwaters, but all the functionality is there

Informative
The watch is great. Has so many features I’ll probably never use. But the diving portion paired with the t2 was exactly what I was looking for.

The best of both worlds
The Garmin mk3i 51 mm is my go to watch for fitness training and scuba diving. I've tested the watch for a month. Gym workouts several times a week, and multiple dives to around 85 feet. It's very durable in both. With a minor scratch on the glass. I recommend putting a screen protector on it when you first get the watch. Value for the money? Yes if you are in need of a fitness tracker and dive computer. You get the best of both worlds. 100% yes! Buy this watch if you are very active in and out of the water. You'll never use all it has to offer, but you'll have room to grow and change your outdoor life style.

Sapphire watch faces gets scratches!
I have a Garmin Descent Mk3i with the sapphire face. My previous Garmin — a Fenix 5 Sapphire — survived from 2017 to 2024 without a single scratch. That watch went through workouts, travel, field time, abuse, and life in general like it was forged in Mount Doom. The new Descent Mk3i? It survived scuba diving and an overseas military deployment… only to pick up TWO scratches in one week inside my own house. Inside. My. House. Apparently the deadliest operating environment for modern “sapphire” is whatever’s happening between my kitchen and living room. What the heck happened to Garmin’s sapphire quality control? Did they switch suppliers to Kramerica Industries? Great Watch otherwise.

Good stuff
Awesome product. It has all the features my fenix has and can be used for diving. Can’t wait to use it for OW.

Ottimo orologio, buona visibilità in acqua
Batteria dura circa 10 giorni.

Nice upgrade from the MK2i
Great computer. It is a big step up from my MK2i. It has a much brighter screen which makes reading the gauges easier at depth. Add it all the other features and it is the perfect watch for anyone out there.
