Great product - works perfectly for me - easy install - needs more time to prove reliability - looking good so-far.
This seems to be a great product, but after just a few days of testing I can't yet attest to its reliability in tough conditions. That said, my initial experience has been so good, I've now bought a total of 3 units. What's good - The unit seems well made and reasonably sturdy - It's very light-weight - at least until the 4 x D-cell batteries were fitted. - In my installation it lights-up a dark path and detects people around 5 to 6 metres away without trouble - For a battery operated unit it is very bright - though don't expect it to floodlight a whole car park. For domestic use it is great. - I expect the batteries to last OK as they are big cells, and the light remains on for just about 30 seconds - so not too much power is wasted each time it is activated. - It saved me having to run electricity to a difficult position - Yay! - It is 100's of percent better than my previous solar powered unit - Easy enough to install if you have a drill - using the screws and rawlplugs provided. - It seems to be of good waterproof construction - but not had sufficient rain since fitting to really testWhat's not so good. (I have no issues with the unit [as yet] but can understand where some people might) - The unit cleverly only comes on when a) there is someone in it's field of view and b) it is dark enough to be needed. I suspect some people might think the unit is not working/faulty when they first fit the batteries in a lighted area. It needs darkness to work. - The sensor is on the face of the unit and cannot be adjusted independently - to detect people coming from behind the light for example. For me this is not an issue. It really depends on your installation requirements. - There is no adjustment for timings & sensitivity. Again for me this is not a problem and it keeps the unit simple and les likely to go wrong. It really depends on your application.Overall I'm really pleased with the light, and the additional units I've bought were for my Mother's house and the In-Laws house, as they were so impressed when they saw the unit in action - they both wanted one.

Well made and good value
So far I'm very happy with this. It works a treat and is pretty bright. About £25 when you include four D cell batteries. Good instructions, easy to install. You do need to be aware that the unit with batteries is quite heavy so needs to be well anchored. Easy to change the batteries if they ever run out. PIR works well outside my front door, where I just wanted it to illuminate when people approach front door or I drive up to house I've got it at about the same angle as shown in the product picture).. The road's about 7 metres away and it doesn't go off every time a person or car goes by (I don't want it to) but it does notice the buses! No real problem with that. Dawn to dusk automatic feature seems to be working well. All in all very pleased.

Great lights
We already have a PIR halogen security light at the front of the house which we do not use (was already there before we moved in, as the street lamps provide a sufficient amount of light to our driveway and front porch. But our bin area at side of the house towards the back is quite dark, and I had initially contemplated to re-site the existing security light to this location which would involve extending the power cable. I looked at a DIY option, but didn't feel confident enough to mess about with live cables so would have had to call in an electrician - and costing £££'s.I knew about these battery powered security lights a while ago and was interested with the Mr Beams ones, but wasn't sure if it would eat through batteries. When these Autaglow ones became available on Amazon, I thought I'd give it a go based on the good reviews and the lower price (compared to Mr Beams).Fitting this to the wall was quite easy. I used a 5.5mm drill bit and also used my own plugs and screws as the ones supplied are not that great. Took about 10 mins from start to finish.Once it got dark I tested the light and must say that I'm impressed. It gives out a very bright light and the sensitivity is about right. Not too sure how long the batteries would last for, but as it only comes on when we take the bins out then I'd imagine it should be a while before they will need changing. We bought the Duracell D batteries from Asda when they were on offer: 2 packs of 4 for £6. However, I have now also just purchased these adaptors from Amazon:http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00NRMW3T4/ref=cm_cr_ryp_prd_ttl_sol_2My intention is to use AA rechargeable batteries once the Duracells have all been used. I already have some adaptors that convert AA's into effectively a D cell size, but with the above adaptors, you can fit 2 AA batteries onto 1 adaptor, so therefore increasing the overall capacity.
