THIS TOY IS AMAZING!! Jethro gives this one not only all four paws up, but he is managing to get his tail up as well to make it a total of five endorsements! Bought it last week because it was on sale, and Jethro needed something different than the 69,611 toys he has in the house. (Spoiled? I would NEVER do that to a dog…. Uh huh…) I have not seen anything like this before and I think it was about $10 on sale. And it is truly worth way more than that. When it arrived, I was not quite sure what to do with it. WARNING…. It came with several of those plastic ties like to hold a price tag. The problem is that you need to remove them from INSIDE the toy. Jethro was laughing pretty hard watching me try to cram my hand in the middle of the toy and bend it in all directions to do so. But I had the last laugh cause I removed every one of them. So I am not sure what you are supposed to do with it. There was not one piece of instruction. I gave it to Jethro to check out, and he carried proudly around the house. I think the weird shape, the rubbery material, and the hollow middle really intrigued him. I finally decided to fill it up with his kibble to encourage him to eat. I thought it was a mistake because a bunch of pieces just fell out of the other hole. But Jethro seemed interested so I laid it in front of him. The next 45 minutes were freaking hilarious and I am so sorry I did not have video of him nosing it around to make the kibble to fall out for him to eat. Then that stopped but he could see rhere were more pieces still inside so he would pick it up and drop it at different angles to get more of the kibble to drop out. But there still more inside and it was incredibly fascinating to see how many different ways he figured to move it just right in order to get another 3 or 4 pieces out. Then he would try something different. And the amazement continued. When the toy was empty of food, he sat there with it in his mouth really interested in just chewing on and playing with it. It would squirt out of his mouth in different directions depending on what part he was chewing on. And the weird shape made it bounce in totally unexpected directions which he loved to chase. Finally, this toy is incredibly solid and well made. Jethro literally has the jaws of a pit bull. There are very few things he has not found a way to destroy in less than 24 hours. I got this a week ago and he is still totally enamored with it. The purple color is gorgeous. I am ready to buy 20 of them so he will always have one, although I think one will last quite a while. If you love your dog, CHECK THIS OUT!!

This is one of our very favorite and most useful toys. The ball is very well made of durable rubber (or whatever it is that feels like good rubber these days and the rubber extends a little bit over the edge of the treat wells so that the dog can't chew the plastic wells out. The squirrels are, of course, fabric and we know what happens with that. That said, they too are well made. with "painted" on faces, no bulging eyes to chew out of them. I ordered 6 additional squirrels shortly after getting the toy for two reasons: 1) I'm lazy (and old) and didn't want to have to go squirrel searching all the time and 2) I wanted to be sure I had extras in case they became unavailable in the future. I have something similar to a toy hammock or net bag hanging on a wall where I deposit the squirrels as I come upon them. She only gets to play with them in conjunction with the ball (or if she finds a missing one before I do). Initially it did not look to me as though this toy would hold enough food to actually feed her from. It does. It holds about a cup and a half, maybe a little more, if you only put the squirrel head half way in each well. My Archie is about 40 pounds and is not what is considered an aggressive chewer though she has chewed a number of toys to their death. This one still looks like new as do all the squirrels (which I toss in the wash, not sure if that is recommended.) This would work as a slow feeder but that's not why I got it. My girl isn't always hungry when we feed the little dogs and cats. She's more of a grazer. I would free-feed her if I didn't have the others. This toy gives me a way to have food out for her when she wants it, the little dogs know it's not theirs and the cats aren't interested in working at it. (One cat figured out the gum ball machine toy before any of the dogs did and by the time they did the cat was puking. That toy went into storage) First Use: Archie did not intuitively know how to get the squirrels out at first and lost interest before she succeeded. Maybe she would have been smarter if I waited until she was starving but I don't like doing that. What I did was fill the wells about half way and stuck the squirrel heads in just far enough that they wouldn't fall out as I put it down. When I put it down and gave it a little roll, with her paying attention, a squirrel did come out and let the kibble out too which she ate up immediately and started to catch on. I put the squirrels barely in for a few days until she really got the hang of it, which she did. Interesting note: my girl does know the command for tug or pull but she could not relate it to this ball and squirrel thing so we had to go the other route. This is a toy I don't think you'll regret buying. I'm tempted to order a back-up one and keep it in our RV.

My dog loves this thing. It's wiggly and bouncy so it keeps him busy for hours. My only criticism is the durability is a little lacking. Clearly made for bigger dogs but can't hold up to larger teeth. He was able to puncture it on day one so its only a matter of time until pieces break off. Still it keeps him playing all day.

This toy is so worth it!! It’s keeps my two dogs entertained for a least 30 minutes, longer if I stuff the squirrels in the holes really good. I have two 20+ pound dogs. One is a super chewer. And this toys has held up very well.

I have close to a dozen different food puzzles for my dog and foster pups, and I bought this one after a different kibble/treat ball we had got lost somewhere in the house. Immediately I could tell it would not work anywhere near as well. I use the food puzzles primarily for kibble meals, and rarely for treats. - It is difficult to load with kibble as the holes are small, and kibble sometimes falls out of the second hole while loading - The holes are not adjustable, so small treats and kibble fall out too quickly - It really only works well if I load it with large treats, but then I can't put in too many It is probably the least used food puzzle toy I have and I would not buy it again. That said, my dogs do love rolling balls around and getting treats/food out of them and this one is good quality.

My dog’s new favorite toy! I put 2 medium sized milk bone biscuits inside and he loves the challenge of getting them out! Even when it’s empty it’s a great bouncy chew toy!

Love this toy, I just wish they also made this shape with an opening at just one end; one of my dogs is WAY too good at emptying the current design! Still a very tough design, and my large dogs LOVE it. More colors would be great, because one dog is allergic to a lot of foods, and I have to give them each separate toys.

Our big boy is obsessed with two things: balls and food. So a treat-dispensing ball is basically an instant win in our house. What we liked: • 5.8” size is perfect for a large, powerful dog • Treat opening fits larger kibble without struggle • Rolls easily and keeps him moving and engaged • Turns snack time into play time, which he loves He had a blast pushing it around and “hunting” for the treats as they came out. It actually does a great job slowing things down a bit while keeping him entertained. A couple things to note: • The treats do fall out fairly easily, so there can be some scattered kibble depending on how it rolls • Once it was empty, our big boy immediately switched gears and started chewing it like a regular toy • If you have a determined chewer, it won’t stay just a treat ball for long • Some cleanup may be needed if your dog doesn’t go back for every piece that drops out Overall, it’s a great rotation toy for mixing up snack time and adding a little enrichment. Just don’t expect it to survive as a permanent chew toy if you’ve got a powerful chewer like ours.

My dog is a little bit thick so it took a few days of me, on all fours, rolling this around on the floor (video not available). But the dog got there eventually and worked it out and now he loves it. This is now a firm favourite to slow him down eating treats, it’s very well made and durable. Only negative is you can’t take it apart to wash but it’s easy to fill up with soapy water and then shake

Una volta finiti i premietti, ha iniziato a usarlo come una normale pallina, sia quella azzurra che quella trasparente. Non è passata nemmeno un’ora e la pallina azzurra era già rovinata.

My dog saw this at a friend’s house and was obsessed! Went in search of one immediately! She LOVES IT!

Not quite sure who enjoys this more. my puppy or me! Love the bold bright colouring, the faces of the squirrels/chipmunks made me laugh and my boy just LOVED the puzzle. He was on to it pretty quickly. The ball is very tough and durable, and spends a fair amount of time outside on the lawn. He loves the design, which means he can just about carry it (hilarious when he was much smaller) and when he does so, you can tell he's so pleased as his tail is up in the air! The only slight downside to the ball is that if you use it to play fetch, its hardness and weight mean your dog could be hurt if you throw or kick it with too much force. As a food puzzle game, it's nothing short of genius. You can increase the level of difficulty depending on how much squirrel tail you expose and watching your dog work it all out and be so delighted when he reaches his treat balances out the initial cost. I've bought Nina Ottoson food puzzle toys before and they've never disappointed. And, like them all, this one is easy to fill and super easy to clean. In case your dog is too enthusiastic with the squirrels, you can buy a replacement set - all round an excellent buy to slow my fast-eating puppy!

Very durable. Has not been broken even with a very boisterous Doberman. Nice and bright so dog can see it well. Easy to clean surface. Good value.
