The Big Wig Volumizing Mousse

I have fine (but thick... dense? A lot of it) shoulder-length hair that's naturally curly. I was looking for a mousse that'd hold volume and not make my hair all limp and stringy without being sticky or stiff like hairspray. I typically blow dry right out of the shower on low heat with a diffuser until my hair is damp, then go in with a blowout brush/dryer (the Revlon Perfect Style Hot Air Kit) for the actual curls. I apply heat protectant before everything, after squeezing some of the water out of my hair once I get out of the shower. This mousse expands quite a bit even after leaving the bottle, so I ended up with around a 1/4 cup or so (basically filling the cupped palm of my hand) and spread it evenly through my hair. It smells *amazing*--definitely not potent or overwhelming but it lasts faintly throughout the day which I like. My hair kept throughout the day so the hold is good but not stuff nor greasy. My hair is really fine so it gets bogged down easily but I didn't feel any of that with this product. Also pretty cheap too in comparison to some of the other products I was looking at e.g. Amika or R+co or MorroccanOil (which works for my hair when my hair salon uses it).

I love, love, love this mousse! The scent is heavenly! I have waist length, fine blonde hair. I have to really watch what I use on it. This mousse doesn't weigh it down nor does it make it funky. It adds amazing volume. I wear my hair straight and this product adds wonderful volume. It also adds wonderful protection when using a flat iron. It is a great value for your money. A little goes a long way. It isn't sticky. It is a quality product. You will love it!

Love cake brand mousse and gel ~ best I’ve ever purchased. Leaves my hair feeling healthy and moisturized and does wonders for my curls. This Scent is OKAY - I like the other mousse scent more than this one, hold on this one is good though. My favorite cake mouse is “the whipped curl” product. Love, your thick-curly haired white girl friend.

Great product for the value. It gives lightweight volume without stickiness. It holds curls and blowouts for days. And the price is great. It smells like dessert!

Love! Received yesterday and tried right away today. The smell is great. Due to allergies I can't handle most products with a perfume or floral scent and am always cautious. This definitively had a fruit smell, more fruit loops than lemon but still good and didn't linger long. Gave me a good amount of volume for the fact I didn't totally blow dry my hair and left damp. I have pretty fine hair that likes to go flat and I'm a fan of big hair so the volume it's giving without being weighed down checks an important box for me. No crunchy or sticky texture. Overall very happy I found this product and excited to try other products in this brand.

I have 2a type hair. Although this works great as a scrunched-in mousse when wanting to wear my hair natural, I actually prefer to run in through my hair right out of the shower before blow drying and straightening it! It works great as a heat protectant and keeps my hair straight all day, especially when paired with this same brand’s hair spray, which is something I have always struggled with. My hair isn’t naturally super curly, but I can never seem to keep my hair straight without getting wavy underneath or the ends flicking in/ out. This mousse keeps my hair pin straight, doesn’t leave a nasty residue, makes my hair oh so soft, and smells amazing! It smells like a mix of lemon cookies and fruity pebbles, which I personally love.

Better than expected. I didn’t want my hair to get oily or have that “crunchy” hair sound. It didn’t give me either! So happy I tried this brand!

I had been using Cake Hot Mess and really liked except that the nozzle was faulty. If I could get product out, it was was liquid and not in mousse form. I tried this product instead becuase it looked like the nozzle had been improved. Yes nozzle better but the porduct was not as good as Hot mess and made my hair feel wighted down. PLease bring back Cake Hot Mess with a better nozzle. I have fine to medium hair and and it was one of the best mousse products I had found.

Nice, gives volume and hair holds well, but don't use too much, a little goes a long way.

I absolutely love this mousse. The smell is amazing and it gives my fine thin hair a much needed boost. This will definitely be a repeat order. So far I'm loving all of the cake products.

A friend raved about thus mousse, but I found it to be just average. I have medium thick, fine hair. Also didn't like the smell. Not a cake smell.

I have used so many different types of mousse over the years but switched to a cream product for a few years that has now been discontinued. I found this product and decided to give it a try and I’m so glad I did. The smell is incredible. It’s like lemon cookies or lemon loaf - so yummy. The volume is great when I blow dry my hair and I like how my hair feels when using this product - very soft and light. I will definitely buy this again.
