CLASSIC IN-STORE PERFORMANCE BY JOVI ON THE 93 TOUR Bon Jovi s Keep the Faith Tour ran across the first half of 1993. On October 4th the lads crossed to Australia for shows in five cities down-under . After playing in Perth and Adelaide on the 8th and 9th, Jovi were delighting fans from the Melbourne area of this enormous country, performing at the National Tennis Centre in the town s Finders Park. On their second day in the mainland s southern-most city, the band took some time out to make an additional appearance at the area s Virgin Megastore. But not for the Jovi boys the average in-store appearance by the average rock band - that of signing a few albums and throwing some cheaply produced T-Shirts into the crowd, before exiting out the back door and jumping straight back into the Limo before the fans realized they d departed. Bon Jovi, being a wholly different breed to such pedestrian acts, spent three hours in the store, a third of which was taken up performing the incredible set presented on this CD. Broadcast too by local FM radio, the superb quality and set-list along with some hilarious comments from the boys between numbers make this among the finest Jovi live recordings available and indeed it is certain to become an essential addition to every Bon Jovi collection in existence.

Bon Jovi Live from back in the day!
I like it. My wife loves it. It was a birthday present for her. Some different versions that we hadn't heard before.

A great collector's piece
Not all bootlegs are worth avoiding like the plague, and Bon Jovi's 'Melbourne Melodies', released earlier this year, is one such example. This live performance was recorded at Virgin Megastore in Melbourne, Australia, back in 1993, where the band played a selection of their best loved hits, and a cover of 'Fever'. It's always nice to hear songs that we already know well played differently, and these intimate, acoustic performances are something to savour. I particularly enjoy the entirely moving, unmistakably 1980s power-ballad 'Never Say Goodbye', and 'Blood on Blood', a tale of true friendship, and quite possibly my favourite Bon Jovi track of all-time.Once more, despite the second-rate, 'home-made' looking cover artwork, the sound quality is very good, and crystal clear at all times. If you're an avid fan, then 'Melbourne Melodies' is a great collectable, and a time piece of when the band were, in my opinion, hitting their peak. Fans of acoustic rock music should also apply.
