This speaker does exactly what you want a portable speaker to do at this price point. The sound is good but that bass is where this product shines over its Sony counterpart. I have seen a lot of reviews saying the Sony Ult Field 5 has more bass than the JBL Xtreme 4 but through my testing, the JBL wins out with much cleaner, punchier low end. For a portable speaker, I feel having proper bass is the most important thing which is why I love the Xtreme 4.Additionally the speaker is pretty lightweight, which makes it easy to put in a carryon bag for travel. The removable battery is great if you ever need to replace it. The IP67 rating for water and dust resistance is up to standard so I have no worry’s when brining the speaker outside on the beach or by the pool.I haven’t used the Auracast feature yet and was a little bummed when I realized I couldn’t connect my old JBL Pulse 3 with my new Xtreme 4 . But from my understanding, Auracast is a big upgrade in Bluetooth functionality.Overall, I am very happy with this speaker and would recommend it over its competitors.

I am very happy with this JBL speaker . The sound is great , and love the bass . It stays crisp and not distorted at high volume . The setup was very easy and connected to Wifi automatically.Its high quality and sturdy . The strap that came with it it made strong and adjustable.I think it was a great value for the money.The best portable speaker i ever bought !

This JBL speaker is better than the JBL three it has 24 hour battery life the JBL three only has 15 hours. They are both very good speakers. I was told I could not pair the JBL four extreme with the JBL three but I did pair them together and they sound awesome with each other! We have a party once a year for a weekend and we need good speakers cause people are camping with us all weekend so these speakers will work well! Gr

I love this speaker. Durable, with some weight. Made well. Sounds good with some nice bass. Got this one and the Charger 5. Stereo.Recommended.

Also there was no strap included with my JBL extreme for boombox all in all it is a quality boombox but I was looking for more power and base that's why I am returning the extreme for and I bought the Boombox 3

first you should know, bluetooth speakers are not supposed to be audiophile quality. on a scale of 0-10, 10 being perfect audiophile quality, this speaker is maybe a 5. but I'm giving it 5 stars because it is great for what it is. I compared this to similar size sony and bose speakers and the JBL won. the xtreme 4 has the cleanest and most balanced sound. don't expect sub bass but the bass is full and fairly clean. vocals and instruments are clear and separation is decent but again, don't expect audiophile quality or super extended highs. great battery life. lasted 8-10 hours at moderate volume for a pool party. when plugged in it goes on stand by mode so you can connect to it easily without having to turn it all the way on.
