Color Blue + Purple Shade Shift Depositing Mask, Hair Dye, 8 Fl Oz | Semi-Permanent, Infused with Bond Booster & Hyaluronic Acid for Nourishment, Revitalization & Repair, Vegan Formula

I really like the blue/purple of this dye. My hair is white/Gray and a lot of dyes (even permenant ones) don't do well with gray hair. I hadn't heard of this brand and it's a bit pricier than some but I couldn't resist the colour. I did about half the length of my short hair on the whole top of my hair. This left all the ends purple with white underneath. The effect came out very well, and the dye shifts from dark blue to dark purple depending on the light. The whole process takes me about 15 minutes to do by myself. It rinses out well, not leaving colour residue on my pillows. It lasted a good 4-6 weeks and I wash my hair almost every morning. The colour does fade a little with repeated washing, but using products that help seal the colour did a lot to minimize that. This stuff is gentle on the hair. Since it's a demi/semi permement, you don't need developer which damages your hair. My hair stayed soft and easy to manage even after repeated re-application over and over for months. You also don't need to cake it on. Granted, my hair is short, but this will easily last me a couple of years with just one tub. Shoulder or mid back length could easily get 10 or 15 applications if you did all of your hair.

It's been over a week and the color look like it did the 1st day. We bleached virgin curly hair the night before; then we washed it and conditioned it and then used a curl conditioning treatment overnight. That morning we washed it and dried to apply on clean hair. We managed to do a single bleaching because her hair only needed to lift a few shades. Her curl pattern remained, thankfully, but we made sure to use specific curl-targeted treatment (Mop Top). You can see she has long, curly, layered hair past her shoulders; I had just trimmed like an inch or two and the single tub of xmondo color was **barely** enough for her entire head. On a fresh new color I would've loved another small handful to smooth into the top of her head. Considering we needed THREE ENTIRE KITS of bleach for her hair, having just enough inin a single tub of color was impressive. #ThanksBradMondo I bought a 2nd tub so she has a freshly done color for Easter, but I think it'll be enough since she has one done as the base color already. The texture of the color in the tub is great... it's like pudding or custard. You can scoop it with your hands or a spoon and the hair just grasps onto it as you blend it in. It smells heavenly but it's not overwhelming or perfumed. It's a really nice neutral scent. So we had time to do color in the a.m. before her program. As I said, we washed & dried to apply on CLEAN hair, so while it processed she got ready with breakfast, making lunch, finding clothes, and then rinsed and I put the curl treatment in again and used a diffuser. Her hair is so soft and the only fading after a week looks like a few highlights of purple but it's still dark & pretty. She gets compliments constantly. I didn't want her to go completely blue but I'm happy with it. She's thrilled. That's what matters most. EDITED TO ADD: OMG I wish she'd let me take pics when we did the 2nd tub after that 1st month. It looked even better than in the pics I posted. The top is having to a pretty lilac, but she wants to touch up. Unfortunately the blue-purple shift is out.

Very pretty color. Im dirty blond and have never colored my hair. I dont bleach it either. Wish it lasted longer, vivid for about a week maybe?

After watching hundreds of Brad Mondo videos, I was pumped to try this. I have bleached highlights I have been coloring with another brand that never disappoints. The color was always vibrant and I only had to touch it up every 2-3 months when it would start to fade. I used the XMONDO purple/blue and it wasn’t vibrant at all. You could barely see it against the rest of my dark hair. It also washed out within about 2ish weeks leaving my highlights a dingy green color. Don’t bother spending the money on this just because he seems to know what he’s doing in his videos. There are far better toners/dyes on Amazon that will give you the results you’re looking for.

I had such high expectations for this because I'd always heard Brad Mondo products were great quality and lasted really well. Sadly I'm really disappointed in the longevity of the colour. I colored my hair on August 11th and only three weeks later, it's faded so much that it looks like I colored it months ago. I only wash my hair around once a week, always with cold water and a color protective shampoo and conditioner, so it's not that I'm washing it too often. When I first colored it, the colour was an amazing deep blue, but three weeks later, it's faded to almost baby blue. I previously colored my hair using Schwartzkopf Drops, and with those the color lasted for ages before it became this faded.

Part of me wants to hate this - it's a hassle, it's been a couple of days and I still have to remove some dye from my skin or else I'd be purplish/blue BUT I am in love with the color way too much to give it anything less than 4 stars. My grays are bright purple and the rest of my hair is dark brown, almost black with a slight tint that helps the bright purple pop. I LOVE IT! Does it suck having to check my fingers and neck for any staining before I leave the house? Yes! Is it fun that my gray hairs are now a purple color that I enjoy? Also yes. I have a lot of grays for being 35, I blame my bosses. Notes - and please don't do what I did if you have not dyed your hair before. I've done it myself plenty of times, and started with a few clippings from my hair to test it out before actually putting on my head. I also followed the testing on my skin instructions that were suggested on the container since it's a brand I haven't used before. MAKE SURE YOU DO THIS!!! I had no reactions, not even a burning feeling - so I was good to move on. Because I have dark hair, I took a couple of small clippings (I have long hair as well, so it was easy to take some and not notice it missing) to see what it would look like at various times before putting the effort into dying. I have some strong Italian genes - so on top of it being dark, I have thick hair. I did not want to put in the effort with it for it to do absolutely nothing. With this process - I learned that the recommended 20 minutes was not enough - and that 50-55 minutes was the sweet spot. AGAIN - DO NOT GO STRAIGHT TO 50 MINUTES DIRECTLY ON YOUR HAIR unless you know what you're doing and you run some tests first.

REVIEWING PINK/PURPLE SHIFT! I ordered the blue/purple shift but was sent pink/purple and used it anyways. Amazon Customer service sent a replacement for the mix up, thank you! This semi permanent dye is the bees knees! Super easy to apply, and doesn't hurt your hair-in fact it will nourish your hair! I haven't dyed my hair in over 10 years, the first image was right before I used the dye. I made a vow to never dye my hair again bc the lightening process and permanent dye left my hair feeling so dull and dry. All the highlights/low lights are natural in the before photo. I washed my hair with dawn dish soap twice, the day before in an effort to "clarify" my hair when I didn't have any clarifying shampoo. Not sure this is recommend but it worked for me in a pinch 🤷🏼‍♀️ I applied the dye, and put a plastic bag over my head for an hour and rinsed. The collage shows my hair the next morning after I'd rinsed and blow dried my hair, and the right side shows a few days later after one wash with my shampoo/conditioner. It is fading slowly and beautifully! I love this! I have a new self care habit and it is called XMONDO!

I use the blue/purple shift and I love it. It’s beautiful formula. Actually use it as a hair conditioning mask too! My hair feels soooo soft after I love it. The color lasts a long time, I’ve previously been using Arctic Fox and I feel like this one lasts longer. The color is more on the blue side, which is beautiful but I mix in a tad of extra purple for my favorite shade. I have nothing bad to say. Oh! It also runs off skin super easy, like barely any staining. It’s crazy!
