I love this so much. I've been using dove amplified textures gel, i stocked up on it when I knew they quit making it so I ran out and then tried a couple other brands before finding this one. The scent is amazing but it does not smell at all once it dries so that's kind of disappointing. It doesn't weigh my hair down. It's perfect for the scrunch out the crunch method with diffusing.

Love the cake products, the smell is not overwhelming, not a heavy hold and not not leave a sticky hold. Works well for any type of hair.

It smells really nice. Be careful how hard you squeeze it as a lot will want to come out. It has a pretty good hold but it's on the heavier side of products for sure. It doesn't make your hair greasy or add to greasiness. It lasts a LONG time like every time I take a shower it's the first thing that I smell when my hair gets wet. As for curls, I find that it doesn't make your hair curl it just holds it in place, you have to put in the work to form the curls

This gets 4.5 stars Hold is great for my fine but plentiful hair. It’s my fav gel to hold my waves all day. My beef is the scent. I really wish they would make this fragrance free. It’s says it’s “citrus” this smells like I’m slapping bday cake to my head. Not at all citrus and its strong scent. Luckily my other products take it down some. It’s great for refreshing waves the non wash days too. I really like that’s it’s vegan, sulfate free and the price is right! It also lasts a long time. I use about a quarter sized amount a day for my above the shoulders hair length. It’s so-so on anti-frizz but I use a serum to control my frizz since there’s a lot of it. (Again a lot of fine hair tends to frizz) please make an unscented version but keep all the other properties the same!

It could be a good product for other curly hair types, but for me it doesn’t work. By the end of the day my hair is frizzy.

I love all the Cake brand hair products I’ve used so far. The hold is strong yet soft. My loose spirals hold well over night. I still need a refresh the next day but less time and manipulation than with other gels I’ve tried

The smell of this is great. It really smells exactly like lemon meringue. I have very fine thin hair and this does not weigh my curls down. I mix it with the cake curl cream. It gets a nice slight cast on it and I’m able to scrunch it out nicely. I think the mixture of both products does a great job of frizz control and defining curls without weighing them down. I don’t know that I will ever use another combo for my curls.

Out of all the expensive curly products, this one takes the CAKE! 🤣 Incredible product - light and smells divine! My kids love it too! Love that it’s Canadian too! It really is my go to for perfection! Both my son and I have opposite curls (his are more tight/cool/frizz, and mine are loose and soft), and this product looks amazing on butch. No residue either! I went through absolute hell for a time, trying to get my curls back. This is the only product that worked! ❤️

I am always playing around with curly/wavy hair products because I am never quite satisfied with how my hair turns out. It's very fine and wavy and is currently in the stages of growing and thickening up again after some illness related hair loss (That's why the fuzz). I ordered this one and tried it the same day it arrived. I was skeptical at first but once it fully dried I was smitten. It makes my hair voluminous, shiny and definitely helps define my waves. My hair needs as much help as it can get right now in this recovery stage. I see comments saying it smells good but I can barely smell anything? Every now and then I get a whiff of something pleasant. Anyway, it works great and I'll be buying for for me and some for my niece who also has wavy hair. It's worth a try, just follow the directions exactly. I'm sure it won't work for every hair type but it's fabulous in mine.
