I love GLiNet so much. This was reasonable for its price, and I'm keen to see how the new Mudi goes next year. Open WRT yay, but this is SO SLOW. Low VPN speed, reduced wan speeds, and excruciating boot time. Top that with the ethernet dongle using a proprietary USB c-c cable. This isn't mentioned anywhere besides an aside remark on their forums. Still a good tool to keep in your kit, as the ability to send custom DHCP/Zeroconf etc in the field is just so cool, but it's definitely a "master of none" product.

This little GL.iNet MUDI has become one of the first things I put in my bag when I travel. It is small, easy to carry, and gives me my own Wi-Fi connection instead of depending on hotel or public networks. I like having the 4G LTE option because it makes travel a lot easier, especially when I need internet for work, maps, emails, or connecting other devices. The setup was simple, and it feels more secure than using random Wi-Fi everywhere. For trips, remote work, or just having backup internet, this device is very useful. Now it is part of my travel essentials.
