This set is awesome. Works just as it should, easy, and quick to do. Keep in mind that you need to buy the Vertuo capsules FIRST, keep them, clean them out, etc. So yes, you initially need to fork over some money but you'll save A TON of money in the long run. I just purchased a set of 30 to last me a month before having to refill these. Since my machine is just for me and sometimes I am in the mood for a good ol' french press style, this amount is perfect. On to the ONE thing that kinda bugs me. Some people might not think this a big deal but I'll throw it out there. I own a Vertuo Plus model. To put in the new capsule for another delicious cup, you press the lid up and the machine very conveniently disposes the capsule automatically into the back bucket. Since using these lids, that convenient mechanism doesn't work. So I manually have to push the pod into the bucket. Takes two seconds and really no energy at all. Call me lazy or super extra, high maintenance, bougee... but the way I see it is that I put a lot of money into this machine as it is, so I want EVERY part of it to work the way it was designed! I think its because these foil lids are not as thick as the nespresso brand foil tops so the machine can't pull up the pod and dispose of it automatically. Anyway, just my two cents. Defintely keeping the machine and doing this method with this kit. The very MINOR inconvenience isn't enough for me to spend over HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS a year in the nespresso pods. GET THIS KIT!!

Absolutely awesome!! I was skeptical at first, especially because it was much less expensive than comparable products on line, but it works as advertised. It was extremely easy to use and not messy at all. The device makes it easy to align and fasten the foils seals to the original pods. There was no leakage when brewing and no grounds in the coffee. Allows you to add your own ground coffee at about 1/3 the cost. An additional advantage is that the “reloads” are much easier to clean than the original pods. Very quick and easy.

This is a bit of a read so I hope I’ve covered all your questions you’ve thought about especially the ones you haven’t. Truth is that you need to be prepared to do this all at once. The value for the amount of seals is okay considering this is my first time use. I had to separate all my original pods by color because I had intended on using two different bags of coffee and I’m moody. Lol. Then there was the peeling the old foil, dumping of old coffee, and then the washing and drying all the pods. Next, I ground my coffee beans (do medium grind!) and filled the pods individually. You can’t really tell at first when you fill it and tamp it down so i suggest it’s filled to the max tamped down before you apply your foil seal. At first, The size of the foil was frustrating because I expected it to fit exactly like the foil on the original. The key is to not be concerned about the overhang because the adhesive’s job is to just keep the pod sealed and your coffee grounds not leak out. It is a little messy and again it’s work, but I like that I can keep reusing my pods. The adhesive works great for the intended purpose of this product so I feel it’s of good quality even though it is a lot thinner than the original foil. For first timers, I think the concept again is a lot of work but I feel it’s worth it if you make the time to do all of the things. If you’re too busy for prep, then I don’t suggest this product and to use another product. I don’t have space for a whole coffee bar setup to do this one at a time so this works for me. I now need to find a small basket to container to hold my clean pods and the seal kit to keep off my small countertop. I’ve only used 20 of the 100 seals and half a bag of coffee but it is not full strength for me compared to the prepackaged Nespresso so I now know I need to do a fine grind and really tamp it down in order to get the best taste from my coffee.

I already had a refill system, but since my daughter wanted one, I thought I would purchase another one and see if I liked it. Then I would give her whichever one was extra. Turns out, I like my original one much better. This one does work and my daughter was glad to get it because she didn’t have to purchase anything, but I would not necessarily recommend this product. PROS -allows for neater refilling -comes with a scoop and tamper all-in-one -has a built-in alignment guide -seals stay in place -will get the job done -affordable CONS -Tamper tends to get stuck on the lip of the refill housing. -seals wrinkle easily, can be tricky to remove from the paper, and have a lot of overhang. You have to spend a few moments carefully folding the seal down so the pod doesn’t stick to your Nespresso machine while simultaneously not covering the barcodes. This results in a more time-consuming and painstaking process. -its size is slightly larger than my current refill system.

Yes- my title is right- it has been a journey! If you’re unsure of what style of refillable pod to get- this one is the way to go- save your money trying out all the methods we have wasted time and money on and just buy this one! See below for full details on why and what our household has tried! Since purchasing my nespresso vertuo pod coffee maker, I have been frustrated by the lack of options for pods. Anyone who has one knows this struggle. If you have a keurig, the world is nearly your oyster with options. For the nespresso vertuo machines, that isn’t the case. The other refill pod (metal style filled reusable containers) have been expensive and completely hit and miss. Out of the 4 I have purchased, 1 was consistently reliable. Our households issue with that style is, we have a lot of company- we wanted the ability to prep multiple ahead of time so people could use them as needed and we didn’t have to do it per cup and or teach each person how to use it. (Those were approx $25 per metal refill- so out of the $100 we spent on them- one worked) Plus with the metal ones, they are hot for a few mins so you can’t easily just empty it right away and refill without burning yourself a bit. After this method didn’t work for us we moved to not using our nespresso at all unless for company- and buying nespresso proprietary pods for company use only- as they are too expensive for our daily coffee consumption. For ourselves- we bought an electric kettle with a temp setting and an aeropress. Now we do love it- and it works for our daily needs- but it does use quite a bit of coffee for each cup- and it isn’t a drop a pod in and go type of process. We were still searching for a cheaper and more guest friendly option which brings us to getting this kit/system. Now- finally to this product in particular—— I have seen other filling systems, but was drawn to try this kit as it came with: 1. The base holder (for any size pod to sit in) 2. The lid that crimps the foil on 3. A tamper (which my husband has always wanted) 4. 100 foils (not sure how long these will last us- but my guess is about 2-3 months with our coffee consumption) The process of making a pod: I cut the original foils off with a knife- wash and dry the bases and set them aside for refilling. Set the pod in the base- add coffee about 2 mm below the top edge (once tamped) Place the foil- add the top half of the device- I press it down and do a quarter twist. *Note the foils seem extra large when you place them- which I personally find amazing, it makes it harder to mess it up- as long as you have anything extra over the edge of the top it will seal just fine! Anything uneven from one side to the other can just be tucked below the edge. After that I remove the pod- run my finger along the edge to tuck and extra edges under the edge of lip and done! This is wonderful for me for multiple reasons that haven’t been possible with any other method. 1. I can make as many ahead as bases I have. For me—I can make a week’s worth for my husband and I in about 10 mins. Which also means I can prep as many as I have available so that my houseguests can use them without any additional hassle or instruction from us. (It may sound silly but walking each person through the process of how to fill a pod and use it is a mind numbing and tiresome process) 2. I can add my own extra spices to make my own unique blends- and once the foil is sealed I take a chops stick and lightly etch into the foil what it is- my husband prefers one flavor- I prefer another and now we can make all our favorites ahead! 3. It uses about 30% less coffee per cup than our Aeropress- so the payoff for this system for my household will be under a month’s time. (A large size pod is about 1.5 scoops of the provided scooper) 4. Additional foils are easily sold for when I do run out of these (I recommend to favorite the product so it is easy to come back and buy again or set up a subscription for delivery at the frequency you think you will go through them-be sure you set the subscription up for the foil only option as you will not need anything else additional) 5. Quality coffee each and every time without the worry of tearing up your machine using one of the metal ones that are hot and inconsistent. Funciona muy bien, lo engorroso es limpiar las cápsulas, retirarles la tapa original y vaciarlas, al menos la 1a vez, yo las he reciclado 3 veces más antes de que el código inferior empiece a marcar error, las piezas fijan bien la cápsula y permiten apisonar bien el café dentro de la misma, las tapas/stickers son fáciles de colocar, aunque hace falta practicar para no fallar la parte del adhesivo... Muy recomendable para usar un buen café de verdad en ese sistema de extracción y con mejor precio por cápsula

Il grosso limite dello standard Vertuo è quello di essere un sistema chiuso: o capsule originali Nespresso o niente. Questo "aggeggino" della Capmesso consente di superare egregiamente questo limite. Non ho trovato nessuna difficoltà ad utilizzarlo, ed i risultati sono buoni. Facile ed efficace il sistema di sigillatura. Ovviamente la qualità della bevanda dipende da vari fattori che non dipendono nè dalla macchina nè dal sistema di "incapsulamento": qualità del prodotto, dosaggio, scelta corretta della capsula da utilizzare (le capsule Vertuo sono diverse per capienza e programmazione). In ogni caso un'ottima idea.

Kit works perfectly, very easy to use and instructions are very clear. This is a game changer, looking forward to using my favourite blends of coffee in my machine instead of just the branded ones. Yes it’s an upfront cost to buy this kit, but this is going to save me so much money in the long run! Highly recommend.
