Truly a great product! Very impressive.
My old router finally bit the dust after 8 years and I was in the market for a new one. Originally I purchased another router, but didn't like the fact that while it had 5 ethernet ports, the device only had two interfaces. Four ports shared one interface (the LAN interface). This didn't sit well with me so I returned it. I was told to look at OPNSense as it will run on x86 hardware and has no limitations. But I needed a device to run it on and I needed a device with multiple ethernet ports to do what I wanted to do with my network. In comes the Glovary Firewall Mini PC... I honestly can't remember why I chose this one, but I remember that Amazon served me this as a suggested item. I saw that it had five ethernet ports, the price was right, and OPNSense was supported 100%. So I bought it. First Glance: When I pulled it out of the box, I was greeted with a MiniPC with a big honky metal case that acts as the heatsink for the device. It also came with a VESA mount adapter, a wall-mount bracket, and a cable so you could install a SATA drive inside the unit. I took off the cover to take a peek inside (which btw the cover comes off with ease!) and what I found surprised me. A completely user-upgradable machine. You can replace and add RAM. You can replace the stock 120GB drive, add a second drive, AND add a SATA SSD drive for a total of three drives. For this price point I did not expect it to be this upgradable. Yay! Outside, the machine has four USB 2.0 ports, 1 USB 3 ports (Type B), and 1 USB C port. It also has two HDMI ports, a TF slot (SD Card), and as stated before 5 2.5GBs ethernet ports. First Start Up: At first start up, it booked into a very zippy Windows 11 pre-installed system. I was impressed at how snappy it ran. Gave me hope that this machine wasn't going to be dog slow. Unfortunately, I am not going to use Windows 11, so I ran a SysInfo and printed it out so I had all the hardware (just in case). Note: If you are going to use Windows 11, this pre-installed version is unregistered but Glovary will provide a key upon request. Installation: I inserted the USB key I made with OPNSense on it, booted the MiniPC off the key, installed OPNSense and voila! Within 30 minutes I had a working firewall (again). Once I was happy with my installation, using the provided brackets, I installed the device on my 'lan wall' in my house. The Break Down: Pros: - lots of 2.5gb ethernet ports - Lots of USB ports - Ability to upgrade is A++ - Seems like a zippy machine (well in Windows) - Extra stuff with it (mounting bracket, USB cable) - Completely Fanless design (although you can request one for free from Glovary) Con's Honestly none that come to mind right off, except for two points that are not really con's. 1. This firewall will live on my LAN wall, which is in my laundry room. I do not have central air, so this room does not get cooled in the summer. My concern with the fanless design is that it will not cool the system enough when it is super hot out. Its spring here at the moment, and the heatsink case is rather warm now (and we're in the mid 60's F these days). I will probably request a fan from Glovary just to be safe. Rather not have this burn out too fast because of heat. 2. This isn't a con really but more a regret. My only regret is not waiting and buying the upgraded model with more disk and ram. Amazon didnt have it on Prime and woulda taken a week or more. It's great I can upgrade the device in the future, which is why this isn't much of a regret, except it would have been nice to set it up once and be done with it and not to basically have to re-setup the device if I replace the NVE drive in it. Bottom Line: Buy it. Don't wait. Just get it. Its an awesome device. I've only had it for a month and I am really impressed so far. But time will tell on the quality and if it lasts. I'd like to think it will. I'm impressed so far.

Great for a router
I love this PC. I loaded OpenWRT on it and have a nice router. Better than the consumer routers, and I trust the firmware. Quite configurable. No wifi, so I suggest an access point to go along with it. I forget what I bought, but something compatible with OpenWRT.

Really terrific and very stable tiny computer!!
I bought this computer to use it as a PFSense firewall. My experience has been terrific. The system came right up. The bios was easy to configure, the product is stable. This little unit is on 24X7 and has not glitched or gone down ever. I highly recommend this product for this type of application. I put it on my wattmeter and it pulls about 8 watts. Couple of caveats: 1. The bios has a watchdog option. Don't turn this on. I did this assuming it was self monitoring. It is not. It requires a WDT kick from the OS and without this it just reboots endlessly. 2. The unit gets quite warm. The exterior is a big heatsink which over an hour or so gets very warm. Maybe around 45C. I had an old computer fan lying around so I re-wired it using a chopped USB cable. 12V fan running on 5V from one of its USB ports. The fan spins at half speed (which is nice and quiet) and I just have it lying on top of the heat sink body of the computer. Cools it way down to around 30C. The fanless concept is great but it really needs some convective solution to be functional. I would have given 5 stars if I didn't need to add the fan. Overall, I like it and recommend the product.

Solid pfSense appliance
I am running pfSense for my home network/homelab. I have 1G symetric WAN, multiple segregated LANs, and am running Snort, pfBlocker, wireguard and other applications/addons. I have been running for 6 weeks now and this device sits in the closet, quiet, cool, and without a blip. The only hitch I ran into wag trying tho use the pre-installed pfsense. That was fine because I was going to install from media regardless.

Great for PFsense
So far so good for PFsense. It has plenty of ethernet connectors. No issues with throughput. The 2.5 gig interface seems to be working very well. It's nice and small. It does put off some heat so I'm using a USB powered fan to sit on top of it. It was easy to set up.

Great for a firewall/router
Great device for a route/firewall. Opnsense FW runs on it just fine, and I like that it doesn't have a fan.. I wish it had 2.5GB interfaces, but that is pretty minor...

Unusable After Just 2 Months
Unusable after just 2 months due to a faulty mainboard. No matter what OS is used, the device reboots every 30 minutes. If HDMI is plugged in, it randomly shows white noise on the screen before rebooting. If the board was not bad, this would be a great little firewall.

Had problems but vendor responded promptly
Update to my comments below: The vendor contacted me within 1 day after the review posted. Saying they had problems with recently used SSD's and memory cards, they provided me with an Amazon credit sufficient to purchase new ones of their recommended brands. After installing the new SSD the PC is now functioning well as a firewall/router using OpnSense. All 6 ports work properly with 1 as a LAN/VLAN trunk (tagged), 1 as WAN, and the other 4 bridged to one of the individual VLANs (untagged). Accordingly I'm upgrading my rating to 4 stars. Many reviewers speak glowingly of how well this PC works with OpnSense. I had exactly the opposite experience. The ports functioned intermittently. I never could get VLAN's to work. Then after 6 hours of trying the internal NVME, which is a generic "no name" unit, failed. I recommend you steer clear of this unit.

Perfect for pfsense
Quick delivery even if origins seems to be China and was nice to have a pre-installed pfsense. Working well so far for my home network.

Amazing for Gigabit network with OPNSense!
Absolutely amazing, i have recently had a udm pro die on me and was thinking of what to replace it with, of course my go to is opnsense, so i pulled the plug on this due to the good reviews, and oh boy were they right, runs opnsense wonderfully no hiccups no issues with installation no problems with ports and the display worked straight away. opened it up to look at what brand hardware is in it, the nvme no clue some no name, ram looks crucial and the cpu is intel 4 core all parts rock solid nvme is fast and boots in seconds, I was shocked how fast was the first boot. it came with windows 11 pre installed but a quick bios tweak for some tuning and enabling vt-d, switching to boot from a type-c ssd and boom live on opnsense, install took maybe 5 mins total with all setup. the little machine is very quiet, as its passive cooled, but has space for a thin fan with screws included! comes with a nice guide card too for default passwords for different services you might run on it. great little machine and can easily push 1gig up and 1 gig down. I am glad I swirched to this and i will never get a udm pro again...but i do love their other access points soo yeah... Great machine, will definitely consider getting another in the future if i ever need one!

Great and quiet little firewall
Working very well for me so far. It came preinstalled with my pfSense; I installed OPNsense. The hardware is working very nicely and I have had no issues. It does feel comfortably warm to touch, but that is the tradeoff for having a passively cooled case (which I love). I'm using this device as a firewall for a home lab and self hosted services. I've installed a OPNsense plugins too (thus uses more CPU and RAM) and it is coping nicely with it so far. Low CPU utilisation for my needs.
