The Conquus Aid 8-piece steak knife set, is the best steak knife set I have ever owned! They are very well made, with full tang design and triple riveted handle. They have a very sturdy feeling in your hand, even prior to use. They are ultra sharp, made with a high carbon stainless steel, which prevents rusting and are also dishwasher safe. The Damascus pattern on the knives make for a very stylish setting on the table. With a non-serrated blade there is no tearing of what you are slicing. They effortlessly slice steaks, roasts, ham, tomatoes, etc. One of the basic tests for checking the sharpness of a knife is to slice a ripe tomato. These knives are so sharp you can slice a tomato unbelievably thin. So thin, in fact, you will need two slices to even taste the tomato! These are absolutely the very best steak knives I could find, especially for a set of eight for around $60. Enjoy your steaks, now with the perfect steak knife!

I was specifically looking for dishwasher-safe knives, and these were beautiful and seemed to fit the bill. I just received my knives, and the directions specifically state not to wash in the dishwasher. I am very disappointed. They are sharp and beautiful, and I would love to keep them, but not being able to wash in the dishwasher is a deal-breaker for me. 10/8/24 Edited to add: About two weeks after I posted this review, Amazon refunded the purchase without my having to send in the knives. I have been using them since, and even washing in the dishwasher, they are lovely and sharp. On September 23, (4.5 months after I posted this), the seller reached out to me, offering me a gift card and ask if I were interested in their other knives. I actually thought it was a scam and ignored, but they persisted and asked again a week later. I said a gift card would be lovely but that the real issue is their packaging. I told them they need to decide if they are selling these as dishwasher safe or not, and stand by that decision. They emailed the next day, saying that a gift card had been applied to my account and asking me to raise my rating from 1 to 4/5. This bothers me for a number of reasons. I don't believe ratings should be paid for, and that is what this feels like; however, since no gift card had been applied, I went back to my original thinking, that this was a scam, and told them I had not received the gift card. I was given an excuse that the company was off for a 7-day holiday, and the gift card was actually applied today. So here we are. I have received a refund for these knives and now a gift card on top of that, and the knives are actually very nice. The whole thing feels very sleazy to me. If they had just reached out and asked if I would reconsider my rating, that would be one thing, but to first give me a gift card and THEN ask seems like they are buying my rating. I do actually like the knives, so I am raising the rating to a four. I did not feel that I could do so without giving the reason behind it, so that's what I have done. Please don't bash me; I did not ask for any of it. Thank you.

Love these knifes. Very sharp and I wash them in the dishwasher and so far they haven’t dulled or discolored. Solid buy.

These knives are sharp out of rhe box but irregular bevel on them. I will re profile and sharpen so no big deal but not everyone has that ability. As other reviews have noted the damascus pattern is just Lazer engraved on the knives. No big deal but some might be expecting different. In the propaganda on the post it states that they are Japanese steel but engraved on the blade it states German steel. This does raise a red flag if they are giving incorrect information about the product. The last thing I would say about the design is that the handles are actually quite short. I have mens medium hands and my wife's are smaller. These are very comfortable for us but if your hands are large or even bigger these are probably not the best choice for you. Long term we will see how they hold up but over all happy with the purchase.

The Damascus is literally laser etched on the knives.

Knives around the shank show visible machining but for the price this can be expected. If you buy expecting German finishing you might be disappointed. Knives are very sharp and the etching a nice touch. Overall very happy with purchase.
