Love is impossible. Hate is an open game. Kimberly He was once my best friend, now he’s my worst enemy. Xander Knight is heartbreakingly beautiful. Ridiculously popular. Brutally cruel. He’s a knight but won’t do any saving. Xander We started as a dream, now we’re a nightmare. Kimberly Reed is pathetically fake. Terribly innocent. Secretly black. She can hide but never from me. Black Knight is part of Royal Elite Series but could be read on its own. For better understanding of the world, you might want to read the previous books first. Review: 4-stars: 'Black Knight' by Rina Kent - Black Knight is the fourth installment in Rina Kent’s Royal Elite series. This was the one book in the series I was anxious to read because I needed to find out why Xander and Kimberly had a falling out. They used to be good friends when they were younger, but something happened where Xander ended up becoming a bully to Kimberly. Rina Kent wrote an emotional story about Xander and Kimberly, and I felt for both of these characters in different ways. Kimberly stole my heart because there was a girl who just wanted to be loved, and she wanted to know why her best friend, Xander, started being mean to her. She also had so much love for her little brother and cared for him more than anyone else did, especially when it came to her mother, who I couldn’t stand in this book. Maybe it’s the mama bear in me, but I wanted to go through the book and hug Kimberly and be her mama because her mama was horrible to her, especially emotionally. What she went through in this book was hard to read at times. I don’t have any triggers, but there was one scene that was tough for me to read. My heart ached for Kimberly and I had to remind myself it’s a fictional story, but it hit hard at home for me. Xander was horrible to Kimberly in the beginning, and there were times I was not too fond of his character. He was one of the Horsemen, and even the other horsemen were getting on him for how he treated Kimberly. I loved how Ronan was trying to make him jealous the whole time, and Xander would lose it. It was apparent Xander had feelings, even if he was mean to Kimberly. I was ready to find out why he was no longer friends, though, and it was finally revealed halfway through the book, and it was a doozy of a secret. I was in shock and now understood why Xander was upset. The poor kid found out something that others were keeping secret, and he had to keep it from Kimberly. I did eventually start liking Xander, especially when he was there for Kimberly after what happened. The best part was with him and Kimberly’s younger brother. Xander was there to help when she needed assistance with him. This book was another emotional rollercoaster in the Royal Elite series. It was full of family drama, tension, and angst between the main characters while also giving a satisfying HEA that both Xander and Kimberly friggin’ deserved after so many years. Overall, I give this book four stars, and I’m looking forward to reading the rest of the books in the series, especially when Rina sets up their storylines. This is why I recommend reading these books in order. You’ll understand the world and characters a lot better if you do. Standalone or Part of Series: It’s an Interconnected Standalone in the Royal Elite Series, but take it from someone who read the previous books: You’ll want to read them in order. Previous Books: Cruel King (Levi & Astrid) (Prequel) Deviant King (Aiden & Elsa) (Royal Elite Book One) Steel Princess (Aiden & Elsa) (Royal Elite Book Two) Twisted Kingdom (Aiden & Elsa) (Royal Elite Book Three) Audiobook Recommendation: This series is best listened to if you enjoy audiobooks. Hot Sweet
I was looking forward to this book, and I’m glad I read it. I love Green and Xan’s story. Their heartbreak and how much they just needed each other. Rina Kent’s books always include real life issues, like mental illness or alcoholism, insecurities, depression, and trauma. It brings a realism to her characters that a lot of us can relate to.

Not great as a plus-size story
This writer does not do justice to writing a plus-sized story. She writes from the point of view of a person not plus-sized who tried to imagine what plus-sized people feel. The girl was reported to be twenty pounds over weight, which would not have cause stretch marks all over her body. Even the emotions that come from being overweight were trite and lacking. Most overweight people do not think that was; it is often people who are not overweight think like that. The author was not even brave enough to let the MFC gain the weight back. The only good thing I can say about the fat angle is that most of the story was not written around it. It main parts are in the beginning and the end. I also do not understand the way she described the timing of when Kim and Xan were born or when the fathers met the mothers. They was it was told, it seemed Xan should have been older. A lot of the details from that story are off. Maybe she was trying to make it like a kdrama or something, and if so, I do not think she got there. I do love the love Zan and Kim have. It is what kept me reading. It could have been better, but it was enough for me.

Emotionally heartbreaking
This is the 4th book in the Royal Elite Series by Rena Kent. This book is very different from the other books in the series. It more emotional and touches on real life mental issues. The story of Xander and Kimberly began when they were young kids. They had a friendship and bond to be there for each other always. Her being his Green and him being her Knight until the one night when everything changed. Xander had to hate her and she had to hate him for how he treated her. He left her and although she believed it was one reason he truly left her for another. A more heartbreaking reason. Kimberly suffered immensely from childhood trauma and bullying. She was stuck in a fog and that fog consumed her. This book was very well written and should be read. It deals with hard relatable topics. I recommend to is book to all. Great series but printing errors with multiple books.
I was upset that another book from this series had a misprint error and because I ordered them at taxes time (march-April and just getting around to starting them) I am unable to return it ; _ ; Whoever prints Rina Kent's Special edition collection needs to be fired. Anyways~ once I got past the portion that isn't supposed to be in this book~ I absolutely LOVED Xander and Kimberly's story 🥺🖤 and as someone who is also a mental health/self harm survivor Kimberly's story hit me so deep in the feels! I felt everything I was reading and the plot twist had me like "WTF?!" -happy sigh- I read it in 1 day 👌🏻 So good.

Omggggg love it

Fantastic Read
In book four we follow Kimberly’s and Xander’s story. They met when they were little and became inseparable after Xander’s mom leaves and never returns. She was his princess and he was her knight. Until one day he pushed her away and refused to talk to her. She was hurt by that situation because he was her safe space especially when her mom was so emotionally abusive. He never stopped loving her and would get extremely jealous whenever any other guy went near her or touched her. Then after a tragic event she learns why he stayed away from her all those years, except he didn’t have the whole story. This book had me gasping and crying and swooning and I can’t get it out of my mind! I rate it 5 stars yet again because Rina Kent is an absolute genius!

His Green and her Knight in shining armour
If you think God Of Fury is emotional and book-hangover inducing, Black Knight is on a whole other level. You are not prepared for the depth of emotions this book will unleash — This emotional rollercoaster truly had ALL the feels-– I devoured every moment, not wanting it to end. This is a friends to enemies to lovers dark high school bully romance in a series like no other! Xander Knight and Kimberly Reed’s story will give you all the feels, and my favourite Brit, the legendary Shane East and the incredible Kiera Stevens will blow your mind bringing them to life in a duet narration that is EVERYTHING! Shane and Keira had me swooning so hard — Xander and Kimberley live in my soul. The raw emotion in their performances was so real authentic and gut me like a fish in the best way. I live for emotional journeys with Shane. A story of beautiful, broken soulmates torn apart by their parents’ secrets, yet bound by fated love and shared trauma. Xander’s confessions and Kim’s tortured soul will tear your heart out, in the best way! And that plot twist? Utterly unexpected! The writing is incredibly emotional and tragic, tackling dark themes with masterful skill and surprising plot twists.I adore Rina’s writing and boy did she tear my heart out with this one. Easily my favourite in the series; Rina Kent’s writing is pure perfection. Galaxy, take note – not enough stars for this masterpiece. Prepare for a book hangover in full swing, and no regrets. Oh and The SE covers are so stunning and look amazing on my Rina Shelf. chefs kiss perfection!
