A god-send for me . . . with other tools
I started using Alli again in March along with other weight loss aids as part of a medically-supervised weight loss program. I had used it previously, with limited success, but that success was not wholly a failure on the part of the product as I sometimes forgot to take it and I didn't always fully meet the dietary restrictions. This time, however, it has made a major contribution to a very successful weight loss effort that has impressed even my doctor. To start with, I had gastric bypass surgery in 2002 that resulted in a weight loss of 188 lbs. Some rebound is common and even expected, but due to various circumstances, I gained weight at the rate of approximately 10 lbs a year, for a total of almost 60 lbs, which is much higher than normal. I made MANY attempts to lose weight but NONE resulted in more than a few lbs loss, no matter what I tried. Then, in February, I became a patient of Dr. Dominic Ricciardi, a bariatric physician who specializes in post-op weight loss surgery patients. (Contrary to popular opinion, long-term post-ops often have a harder time taking off "small" amounts of weight than the average person.) My husband and I started his program together. I have a hard time calling it a program though, since it consists mostly of a calorie-controlled diet (1600 calories for me, 2000 for my husband) with journaling to keep track of calories and protein, physical activity, and the use of prescription phentermine. Prior to beginning the program, we had a full lab workup, and in office we were tested with EKG, Calorimeter, BP, weight, body composition, and measurements. We had great success in the first month. Following an auto accident, I began to have headaches related to a neck injury. When I mentioned this to Dr. Ricciardi, he prescribed me Topomax for the headaches. Some of the well-known "side-effects" of this medication are a marked decrease in appetite and a change in sense of taste with regard to some foods/drinks. This is so distinct that the medication is in the process of being patented as a combo drug WITH phentermine for weight loss. He told me this because he knew that I was already doing very well with the phentermine alone, people taking Topomax often eat TOO LITTLE and he wanted to make sure I continued getting enough nutrition. He was right. I essentially lost the desire to eat (which is a wonderful thing for someone who is essentially a food addict.) At the same time, I told him that I had a supply of Alli from the last time I dieted, and I wanted to know if it would be acceptable for me to take it. He told me that would be fine, and gave me the go ahead to take the prescription dosage. My Amazon purchase was my "refill" after I went through my reserves. Fat content has always been a problem for me for any number of reasons. First, fat is what makes food yummy! Second, especially when it comes to meat, the leaner the cut, the tougher it cooks and the easier it dries out. As a post-op, I need plenty of protein, and it does need to be lean, but it also needs to be tender and moist or it will get stuck in my pouch. It gets very difficult to keep a very low-fat piece of meat tender and moist! Third, my body composition has ALWAYS been higher in fat than normal. Even after massive amounts of plastic surgery following the bariatric surgery, I carried more fat than is normal. Getting fat to leave my body seems impossible, and you can only limit consumption to a certain degree. This is why Alli is such a godsend. As for the side-effects . . . yeah, they're gross. When I've consumed too much fat, I know it. And it has hit at some very bad times, often when I was just about to leave for work. I've had to change clothes more than once. Guess what? I'm NOT COMPLAINING. 9 years ago, a doctor cut me open from groin to sternum and rearranged my insides, and it gave me my life back. It was not easy. It was painful. I had to learn to eat all over again and I got so sick that I was hospitalized for 2 weeks, put on TPN for 2 months, and finally started to be able to eat solid food again 3 months after surgery. My "pouch" is the size of a grape, but it is not meant to hold food, it just acts as a valve to regulate the rate of consumption. If I eat too much too fast, I get stuck and get sick. If I eat the wrong thing, that's too bulky or too dry, I get stuck and get sick. Because of the bypass, if I eat food that is high in refined sugar (or even too much natural sugar), I get sick. I can even get sick from too much fat. Now, with Alli, if I have too much fat, I know what will happen. It's called aversion therapy, and after awhile, you don't need to think about it. The IDEA of what that piece of fried chicken will do to you makes you shudder. That's the POINT! Lately, the only time I have side effects are when I eat something that I THOUGHT was within the guidelines but actually was not. (This might be because I ate out or with friends and had to guesstimate fat content.) I accept consequences and take precautions. If you can't deal, don't take Alli. After everything I went through (that I would do all over again in a heartbeat), I find it laughable that so many people who seem so "desperate" to lose weight get indignant because a weight loss product WORKS. Alli is designed to block the absorption of some of the fat you consume. The idea is to NOT consume too much, and it will do its job by still blocking part of what you do consume. If you do have too much, it's going to do its job even BETTER and block ALOT of that fat. And you'll probably leak (as I call it). Don't want to leak? Then control your fat intake. When you see that gross orange stuff in the toilet bowl, smile. The stuff that you paid a lot of money for is working, and be glad that it's there and not in YOUR body. If its working, and you still aren't losing weight, then it might be that fat isn't your problem and you may need to troubleshoot. I started with Dr. Ricciardi on February 2nd (taking only Phentermine at first) weighing 200 lbs. I began Topomax and Alli near the end of March. I have lost steadily and continuously ever since. At last weigh-in on June 30th, I had lost 40 lbs. Now, you may be saying, "that doesn't mean it's the Alli . . . what about all the other elements?" My husband has ONLY been taking the phentermine. He started at 336 lbs. He has also lost 40 lbs. However, because he is heavier and male, he should be losing weight much more quickly than me. I cannot say that Alli alone has done it, but to go 5 months without a slowdown of weight loss, and to be only 10 lbs from goal is something that is shocking even to Dr. Ricciardi, and he is a bariatric specialist. I can't help but think the Alli is playing a significant role.

the good, the bad, the UGLY
I bought the 60 pack starter bottle to kick start a new phase of diet and exercise. I've done the diet and exercise thing many times before, the weight always comes back. I've tried diet pills before, they never work at all. I figured I'd give this stuff a go based on some positive reviews. Reader BEWARE - THIS. STUFF. WORKS. The good - This stuff WORKS. You cannot deny it. During the 22 days it took me to go through the first bottle, I lost 7 pounds. Now, as I said, I'm no stranger to diet and exercise. When I started taking the pills, I listened to the instructions. I worked out everyday during these 22 days, I followed a low fat and low calorie diet. I even did a juice cleanse for 2 days (during which I did not take the pills). I took my multivitamin every night. I probably would have lost 4 or 5 pounds without these pills during this time, but these pills definitely helped add a little extra something. You can literally SEE this stuff working (more on that below). At no point while taking this stuff did I have to run to the bathroom like some crazy emergency where I almost didn't make it. I had regular bowel movements, they were just.... offputting. The bad - this stuff works. You can literally see it. It will disgust you at first, there is no doubt about that. You will see blobs of fat/oil in the toilet. You will really want to avoid eating super fatty/oily foods while you are taking this stuff. The UGLY - this stuff REALLY works. Like, if you are in a relationship, or still have to go to work in person, you may want to think twice. Like I said above, I didn't have to run to the bathroom at any point while taking this stuff, but it leaves a nasty ring of oil in your toilet. You will likely go through a lot of toilet cleaner while on this product. If you are at work, or in a relationship, it's going to be hard to hide it. I basically have to clean my toilet every time I go to the bathroom. If you are out in public or at work, it's going to be even harder, since you won't have access to a toilet brush. the UGLY UGLY - at one point while on this product, I decided to help myself to some pepperoni pizza (it was cauliflower crust, tiny personal pizza, I figured what's the harm, the whole thing was 650 calories), after eating this pizza I had the urge to let out a little toot, so I did. Well...that little toot led to an oil stain in my underwear. Thank the man in the sky I was home and able to go change into some fresh undies. You've been warned. It WORKS.

Effective Support for Weight Loss โ A Helpful Boost!
Iโve been using alli Weight Loss Diet Pills (Orlistat 60 mg Capsules, Non-Prescription) as part of my weight loss plan, and overall Iโm very pleased with the results! While no pill is a miracle fix, this supplement has been a useful tool alongside healthy eating and exercise. ๐โโ๏ธ Supports Fat Absorption Management: alli works by helping block some of the fat you eat from being absorbed โ and I have noticed a difference when Iโm consistent with diet and activity. Itโs a good complement to mindful eating and portion control. ๐ Convenient & Non-Prescription: I like that itโs available without a prescription. The capsules are easy to take, and the dosing is simple to follow with meals. ๐ Noticeable Progress: When I pair alli with a balanced diet, I feel like Iโm making better progress compared to diet alone. It gives me that extra reassurance that Iโm doing something extra to support my goals. โ๏ธ Gentle, With Proper Use: I was careful to stick with lower-fat meals like recommended, and that helped avoid discomfort. Keeping fats within the suggested range makes the experience much more pleasant. ๐ก Great for Goal-Focused Support: This isnโt a magic capsule โ but it is a helpful addition for anyone committed to losing weight through real lifestyle changes. Tip: Follow the dietary guidelines closely and drink plenty of water. If you have medical conditions or take other medications, checking with your healthcare provider first is always a good idea. Overall, alli 60 mg Weight Loss Capsules offer dependable support and have helped make my weight loss journey more manageable. If youโre committed to a healthy routine, this can be a valuable tool in your plan! ๐๐ช

Itโs not magic, but it helps
My (already excessive) weight was starting to inch up to a weight I hadnโt experienced in several years. Diet & exercise alone were clearly not enough. I chose this product for practical reasons. The prescription ones are much more expensive and this is the only OTC weight loss drug with a proven track record. Letโs look at the obvious stuff now; 1) Read the product description before buying it; make sure it is a viable choice for you. 2) Read the directions once you get it. 3) Itโs not magic. That is to say, you canโ just take the pill eat all you want & expect to lose weight. You still need to eat sensibly & exercise, but this will give your weight loss plan a boost. I have been using it for about 2 months and have lost 13 pounds. I still have a way to go, and this is helping me get there. But it does have side-effects. It tends to cause loose stools. Worst case is causing frequent diarrhea. (If that happens- STOP USING IT!). I am tolerating it pretty well. As I am on a couple of prescription medications that tend to cause constipation, this counteracts them for me.

Where can I buy the original Alli?
I have clean undies! The old Alli (back from 2007) was possibly dangerous but it worked very well at weight loss.. This new Alli is not at all dangerous.. It is very safe! .. However, I dont want safe! I'd like to know how to purchase the old formula that I could lose 10 lb in a month on! I know everyone whined and complained until now GSK is terrified to sell the version that works. After all the FDA was getting pretty concerned.. But now that they found a new manufacturer, they "somehow" no longer receive the scary complaints they did before. Obviously people used it incorrectly in 2007 an hurt their bodies.. (I am not blaming the consumer entirely it was a learning curve for everyone including GSK). However I'd like GSK to switch back to their old suppliers. It was a very potent weight loss medication. You know it seems like GSK is trying to play it safe. But they could risk the old formula again *if* it ended up being completely controlled by the doctors .. That is the MD told you how to supplement your nutrition and made sure at at least a majority of healthy meals in which you did not take the Alli.. See effectively when you take Alli, your body is not getting the fat soluble vitamins you need to live. Instead you get biological waste that seeps into your underpants. (No mater how much you avoid fat .. everything has it.. Milk .. eggs etc) Realize that days you took the old Alli are days in which you fasted. If we consumers could have used Alli responsibly (and not starve out our organs into damage) maybe GSK could go back to the old formula? or at least sell it Rx.. (My physician would prescribe it) .. Anyhow my low stars are that this was a waste of 53$ since I bought the new ineffective "safe" version of Alli.. To add to everyone's confusion is there was (but no longer) counterfeit Alli out there and there was real Alli that got over heated in shipping process. So (people .. not mentioning names) are using those events to conveniently avoid the elephant in the room: That the when the suppler changed.. so did the details of the manufacturing process. And concurrently dangers of Alli are now gone and resolved! However it is might be hard for some people (like myself) to tell the difference between Alli and a placebo. Understand.. lab tests still; show it being the same Alli of 2007! Still My tablets have exactly 60mg of genuine Orlistat. I got exactly what I paid for. So there is no malevolence here. But anyhow I'd venture to guess there are scientists at GSK that after painstaking research can tell the difference in the formulation. But why should GSK sign up to get blasted by the FDA and consumers again? I am sure they are hoping that people who loved it in 2007 will buy it again.. It didn't take me all but one day to realize it the formula changed! (So unless I can find the old stuff I wont be buying it again) I am willing to pay up to 200$ for 120 x 60mg of Orlistat if it could be a different formula! Hopefully everything I say here is wrong and selling a different than before version. Maybe they will get the errors resolved and replace my bottle? And I can get back to wearing diapers for 6 months while i get skinny!

Doesn't work for lower BMI folks wanting to shed 20 pounds or less
Before I start this review, I am FULLY AWARE that this product is NOT labeled for use in individuals with "normal" or "healthy" BMI's. I am a very average 40 y/o woman with a healthy BMI. I'm actually in pretty good shape and I already eat quite healthy overall, but I have a stubborn 15 pounds that just doesn't want to budge with moderate caloric restriction and exercise alone. I decided to give alli a shot even though it says it won't work for people who have healthy BMI's. I figured, a fat blocker is a fat blocker and it should block fat in someone with a healthy BMI as well as someone who is obese, right? Well yes, it does indeed do that. The orange stains in my toilet and underwear can attest to that, but after taking it at full dosage for 2 months and eating a relatively low fat and low calorie/healthy diet, I didn't lose a single ounce with the addition of this supplement. Not one! I will say, the awful orange oily farts and bowel movements really only happen when you eat a meal with more than the recommended amount of fat. So those only happened to me once or twice a week. The rest of the time I didn't worry about side effects because I'm pretty good at sticking to a low fat diet and I track what I eat daily in my fitness pal. That being said, on meals where I would splurge a little, like date night dinner out, I was definitely punished for my sins by the angry orange bowel gods. And the other reviews are right when they say you can't trust your farts after you eat fat! You will regret it if you think it's just a little gas and you can let it out not on the toilet. BEWARE! So, to sum up my experience, I'm40 years old, 5'7" and about 152 pounds (should be around 135). I lift weights and am pretty active and healthy over all but have 15-20 pounds I would like to lose to be at my ideal weight. I tried alli at full recommended dose for 2 months and while I know it was working because of the orange oil in my stool, it did absolutely nothing for my waist line or the scale. I can't really fault the supplement itself because it was clearly not indicated for use by those wanting to lose 20 pounds or less, but I thought it was worth a try anyway. I sincerely hope this review has been helpful to someone else who is in the same boat and looking into this product! If you're not severely overweight, I recommend you save your money (and the mess in the toilet)! And yes, I paid full price for this! Feel free to ask any questions.

A 90-day supply of Alli can guarantee me a 24-pound weight loss in 3 months (but don't eat more than 15 grams of fat per meal)
Love it. I've tried a few different diets over the years and using Alli has given me the fastest and most permanent results. It's the only diet I have ever stuck to (there's not a food I couldn't eat, and it's too expensive to not finish the bottle), and it's the only diet where I won't cheat (for fear of embarrassing side effects if I do!) I purchased a 90-day supply when my weight hit 168 and by the time my bottle was empty I weighed 144, and I honestly never felt like I was dieting or sacrificing a thing. If you're looking for a foolproof and easy dieting plan, this is it, and while there are so many things I would like to share about Alli, the most important is this: DO NOT EAT MORE THAN 15 GRAMS OF FAT PER MEAL. Alli has a horrible reputation for giving you gas, diarrhea, embarrassing bathroom issues -- and it's true, IF you consume more than 15 grams of fat per meal. So don't do it. Why Alli doesn't stress that one important point amazes me, it makes all the difference between amazing success and a side effect that's so embarrassing that people blame it on the product and quit. I lived in Atlanta when I started taking Alli so I was surrounded by fast food restaurants, and because of my schedule it was hard for me to resist the convenience of zipping through a drive-through, which was part of my weight-gain problem. The day I started taking Alli and realized I didn't have to give up fast food (or any food, for that matter) and my weight loss took off. I devoted one entire morning looking up online menus and nutritional charts for every restaurant in the area and bought a small notebook to keep in the car, then I listed by restaurant all my favorite foods from each place and how many fat grams per item. In the morning I could stop at McDonald's and get pancakes, syrup, half of a sausage patty, a carton of milk and hot black coffee and stay within my guidelines. (Note: before I would carry my order out to my car, I would open the container with the sausage, cut it in half with my plastic knife and toss half in their trash. Voila. No temptation.) I could eat a delicious steak & cheese sandwich from Philly Cheesesteak and because there are 14 grams of fat in one sandwich, I would buy a bag of fat-free Lays potato chips to go with it and could eat as many as I liked. Almost all of the sandwiches at Subway contain less than 15 grams of fat, and again I would bring a zip-lock bag of Lays Fat Free chips with me. The meals you can cook at home are endless, and of course leftover grilled chicken was always my fat-free snack if I couldn't make it to the next meal. I could eat out anywhere, I would just check their menu online to see what choices offered less than 15 gram of fat before I arrived, take my Alli BEFORE I walked in the door so I wouldn't be tempted to cheat, and walk out feeling full from a delicious meal and thrilled that I was still 100% on my diet. In 3 months I lost 24 pounds, however if I had exercised, drank more water and limited my carbs as well as fat I know I would have exceeded that amount easily. I went from wearing size 14 stretch pants and an over-sized sweatshirt in March to buying size 6 cotton dresses and capri's by the time summer arrived. My looks changed, my confidence soared, and instead of holding on to the railing when I went up and down the stairs at my house, I had so much energy one morning I actually took them 2 at a time, and was so shocked I ran back downstairs and did it again. I became a version of myself that I hadn't seen in years. Tip: the day you buy Alli, sit down and list as many breakfasts, lunches, snacks and dinners that you like with the fat grams in each meal, same with a notebook for restaurants to keep in the car. Also, keep a daily log of everything you eat, and weigh yourself once a week. Oh, and take before pictures! Good luck!

STOP THINKING ABOUT IT and BUY IT!!!
I was pretty skeptical when I decided to give it a try and Iโm SOOOO glad I did!! Itโs been about a week now and itโs actually working! I donโt weigh myself but my clothes are already looser and Iโve been able to wear some shirts that I was just a little too insecure to wear before. Iโve literally tried so many types of weight loss supplements that had little to no results or made me to jittery to continue taking. With this, my energy levels, mood, and physical results have noticeably improved already!
