COMOMY 36" Extra Tall Baby Gate for Stairs, Fits 29.5" to 43.3" Openings

This is our second time ordering this gate and we love it! First time we ordered to keep our large dogs contained and now to keep our baby contained- worked great for both! Nice and tall so it can’t be jumped and sturdy so it can’t be pushed or pulled over while still easy to open for the adults. And it looks great! Would recommend.

Excellent gate for dogs, this gate is extremely well built and installs very easily. Instructions are Surprisingly good. The extra height is good to keep more athletic dogs from jumping over. Only small complaint is that the gate doesn’t always latch when it closes on its own.

Hello, My husband just put together our COMOMY, black, metal gate to keep our dogs in the Family Room & Kitchen area, without being able to go into the Living Room or upstairs into the bedrooms. We are so happy we selected this gate! There were so many to choose from it was challenging to find the best one, but I think we made an EXCELLENT choice with COMOMY. Here are our reasons why: 1. The gate arrived in 2 days as promised. It also arrived in perfect condition with the few remaining parts ALL THERE. (That’s a miracle in itself these days.) 2. My husband put it together in less than 10 MINUTES. The only “tools” he used were 2, 8” metal bars (of the same dimensions) to temporarily hold the gate up off the ground 1”. (The metal bars were from his work shop.) I also held the gate steady while he tightened the 4 pressure brackets onto the walls, ( Brackets are included with the gate.) 3. This gate has the BEST & EASIEST, ONE HAND LOCK. You just push the lock down with your thumb, while simultaneously squeezing up with the rest of your fingers. It doesn’t take much pressure at all. 4. The gate swings open whichever way you want it to, which is a GREAT FEATURE! 5. The gate itself is Black with a nice finish on it. To me, the gate looks modern and sleek. It is lightweight, but very STRONG & STURDY. We do not work for this company. I am a 70 year old, retired Clinical Social Work Supervisor. My husband is a 74 year old retired Machinist. We BOTH love dogs. The gate was necessary to keep the dogs safe and out of trouble in the rest of the house. They are both Queensland Healers, medium to large in size who love to play and get rowdy together. They have never messed with the gate. They know it’s a border and leave it alone. However, if they did stand up against it, I believe the gate is strong & sturdy enough, as well as pressure mounted enough to hold their weights of approximately 40-50 lbs. each. It would certainly work for a Baby gate as well. This is the longest review I have ever written and tried to express (in detail) how great this COMOMY GATE is. I guess it’s because I looked at sooo many of the different descriptions of each gate selling on Amazon, that I’m SHOCKED I selected THE PERFECT GATE for us!! I absolutely hate having to return items, though it’s so easy with Amazon. I have absolutely NOTHING NEGATIVE to say about this product. It’s probably obvious by now…… I highly recommend the COMOMY GATE TO EVERYONE! Thank you for taking the time to read this. 🤗

Just installed this gate today, already had a cheaper gate that was a hand-me-down. This gate was rather expensive compared to the entry level options but I immediately see why. I purchased is because of its height, 90 degree detents and ability to swing inwards or outwards. I can leave it open when I want and it stays that way. My old gate only swings one way, and it has a button on both sides of the latch, but only one side is a button that's hard to press and the other side is fake. I had disassembled it thinking one side was broken but found out it was just cosmetic. This model has a latch button top and bottom that you must press simultaneously and they're both very easy to press and hold. This gate is very easy to install and comes with width extenders. A standard width doorway shouldn't need those. It even comes with attachments to put it between circular columns. It's much sturdier than my cheaper gate and the lock mechanism locks both at the latch and at the base. The gaps in the posts are small so cats can't squeeze between them. The only downside I can think of is if you wanted this to keep dogs or toddlers out but allow cats through. I think I saw an option for a little integrated cat door but I can't remember for this brand. Overall I'm glad I didn't buy another cheapo gate, this one is much nicer and thankfully worth the price. With coupon from Amazon I spent about $75. I might end up buying another to replace the other cheap gate I've been using.

The product itself is nice and appears well made. I was scared it would be cheap and flimsy, but its good enough. The latch and opening mechanism is way too simple. My 3yo figured it out in a day. My 2yo figured it out later that week. However, we found they'll respect the physical boundary if we're stern about it. I probably should give 3 stars because the "gate" function is hardly there, but it being relatively cheap at <$70 as of Feb 2026 lets me overlook that. Do buy wall grippers/wall nanny to go with this product.

Very impressed with this gate, heavy duty, very secure, perfect for my German shepherds, I am ordering another one to replace an older flimsy gate

This is a good, solid, quality gate. It does take a little bit to get it installed properly if you are doing it solo. I used a magnetic level to take the guess work out. I like the height which makes it easier to open than the shorter gates. I appreciated the key tool provided to help with installation, was very helpful! The only thing that could improve the whole set up is a place to put the key once installation is complete. I taped mine to the frame which you can see in video.

Loving these gates so far, quick install and love the extra pieces that are in different sizes to it makes it super easy to fit your door or space just right. the height is perfect for the great danes in the office so they can see but not access certain areas.

Its strong and high keeps 3 dogs apart when needed id recomend it to anyone i have also used it outside to section off balcony dividing dogs and its very secure, easy to assemble harder to put down but that's a good thing
