Airflow iCON 30 Extractor Fan, 33 l/s, 100mm Duct

Working really well, sleek modern design with a futuristic opening and closing mechanism, reminiscent of the spacecraft airlocks in the 2001 A Space Odyssey movie. It’s really quiet and functionally efficient, but its appearance is a whole world away from the fan and grill behemoths that I replaced. One of the best things I’ve purchased in an eon. Delivered promptly and with fantastic fitting instructions.

Costly but works well. The petal type gills ensure no draught when it's windy and no clattering of shutters as in conventional designs. For me it was worth the money

This is a really good fan. Actually the best fan to have. We had an expert check our home for mould etc and advise what we needed. We got this new fan before he came. He could not believe in his 30 yrs how good this was after testing, he said it clears the steam air etc very quickly. He was so impressed. Yh that's good enough for me. You come out of the shower without steam. You can hear it but at least you know it works.

This is the highest flow rate 100mm fan I could find, its a good looking fan & does the job also has a lot of options with different modules installed. But is expensive

The iCon 30 Extractor -Opted to this peace of machinery after using for about 4 years a simpler Amazon Xpelair fan which wasn’t strong enough for our bathroom, and subsequently allowed constant mold buildup.The iCon has a few level of power , while the 15 is meant to be enough , I opted for a stronger option which is aimed at bigger bathrooms.The pros: it is evidently stronger than the one I was using before, the design is robust and there are no obstructions inside the pipe (like a two way flap which is often present). The fan itself has a big surface face which clearly allows more air to be sucked in.This design doesn’t come without Cons:The noise level (published at 32 dhb) is substantially higher than smaller fans and this makes a huge difference, the space between the pipe and the extractor is a couple of centimeters which makes it hard to install it and means you need a pretty large hole (160cm) and not the 110 I thought it would be.There are flaps which open slowly once the extractor starts going - and I’m dreading the future where this mechanism gets stuck or obstructed (see attached video).And finally this doesn’t come with a timer - something you have to add separately, which is annoying not just due to the cost but also I forgot about it and had to call my electrician back.This is the required part to buy along with it -Airflow iCON Extractor Fan Plug-in Adjustable Timer Module (1-30 Minutes) - For iCON 15, iCON 30 & iCON 60 Extractor FanAside from that the installation is straightforward, connecting the timer inside is pretty easy and it seems like a good robust machine.I’m pointing out the flaws because they seem to me like it will mean a short lifespan, and I’m hoping I’m wrong.

Bought to replace bathroom fan. Good at clearing steam, and we like the delay in starting and immediate cut off when lights turned off. Very efficient and does the job well.

Muy buen extractor. Buen cierre. Un poco ruidoso porque extrae bastante aire. Si entra aire a través del shunt es posible que sea suficiente porque cierra muy bien, pero en mi caso ya tenía antes válvula anti retorno que no cerraba del todo. Ahora con la válvula más el extractor ya no entran malos olores.
