We frequently travel by air and have whittled down to a carry on and a personal item. I bought two of these (one for me and one for my wife) and we used them for the first time about a week after they arrived. I put mine in my suitcase and packed the sections while it was inside the suitcase. It is a little wider than my suitcase but since it's soft I just squeezed it in the case. I did the typical roll-up and stuff it in type of packing and I was able to pack almost everything in the organizer. The organizer is not as deep as my suitcase so I was able to pack a few remaining items on top of the organizer and still close the suitcase although I did let out the zippered extension on the side of my suitcase. We stay at a place where I have to just sit my suitcase on the floor which makes it very uncomfortable for me to rummage in my suitcase. This time, unpacking was truly the easiest it has ever been! I literally set the suitcase on the bed and opened it, grabbed the hangers for the organizer and hung it right in the closet! It took me less than 2 minutes to unpack my suitcase as after hanging the organizer I just moved my items from the organizer to the dresser. Truly a breeze! My wife didn't use the organizer as much as I did but she did use it by first packing shoes, then laying the organizer on top of her shoes, then stuffing the compartments with clothing and other items. She found unpacking the organizer very easy after I lifted it out of her suitcase and hung it on the closet clothing rod. I bought two of the medium sized organizers and then fit very well in our "overhead compartment" sized suitcases. We have only used them one time so I don't know how durable they are. They feel like they will last, the stitching is is good and the zippers seem sturdy. I was considering buying a suitcase with an organizer built in, but they cost almost $200. If you have a suitcase you like already, this is a great option to make especially unpacking easy. We travel several times a year so I'll update this later with durability comments.

We took 4 of these with us on a cruise and it was AMAZING. AMAZING. We unpacked in no time and basically had hanging dressers. They take up NO space. It's incredible. Cruise ships have very small closets. I fit 2 of them side-by-side in a very small area and yet they were easily accessible. My children usually take soft-sided bags and they become a complete MESS after one outfit change. I rolled the cloths into "sections" like shirts in one, pants and shorts in another, underwear and socks in the top etc. These stayed neat and tidy for the entire 7 days of our vacation. They fit perfectly into small roll on suitcases, the aforementioned duffel bags and actually into my kids (admittedly rather large) school backpacks! My husband initially said that he didn't want one for our trip, and so I didn't get him one. As I unpacked myself and the kids within seconds, he was joking around saying, "hey! why didn't you get me one too". Right?! I'm ordering one for him immediately. LOVE LOVE. Buy one now! I am sending these to summer camp with my boys as well. Even though they won't hang anywhere permanently, they can slide them under the bunk beds, grab them out and hang them from the top bunk to grab out cloths each night as they change. Pair this with a pop-up hamper or just a dirty laundry bag and it's a vacation life-changer. Just as an estimate for anyone considering this, I packed for myself: 5 dresses rolled up, at least 6 shirts (tanks and tee shirts), 2 pairs of regular shorts, 2 pairs work out shorts, 2 work out tanks, yoga pants, 4 swimsuits and 4 pairs of socks. For my kids, I packed: socks and underwear plus 2 pairs of rolled up PJs in the top, 3 dress shirts and nice pants in the uppermost compartment, 7 tee shirts and a pair of long athletic pants in the middle compartment, 2 bathing suits and swim shirts in 1/2 of the bottom and 4 pairs of athletic shorts in the 2nd 1/2 of the bottom. Literally the only thing that didn't fit for my kids was their shoes. Roll all the cloths.

I haven't used this organizer yet, but I did do a test pack for an upcoming trip. According to the manufacturer, this ~18L organizer was designed for use in a 30L bag. First impression is that it is very sturdy; in some ways, unnecessarily so. The thicker fabric is probably responsible for its weight at 9 oz as I've read that earlier iterations were only 4oz. For ultralight packers, 5 oz is a lot, and I'm not sure what purpose it serves over the lighter silnylon fabrics that a lot of manufacturers have been using for packing cubes, like the Eagle Creek specter series, ebags ultralight packing cubes, etc. That said, it will likely hold up to whatever you have to throw at it. It also holds *a lot*. More clothes than I would really bring anywhere, so there's that, for those of you dipping a toe into light packing. When I fill it with just clothes and nothing else, I can fit: 1 pr jeans 2 pr shorts 8 long sleeve shirts 3 t shirts 4 tank tops 1 pr leggings 1 cardigan 1 dress (US women's size 4 clothes for reference) For a week-long trip, I normally take my Pacsafe x30, a 30L backpack measuring 20.9 x 11.8 x 7.9" (~32L by calculation). With the Packgear full (max dimensions 18" x 9" x 7" according to their website), it was a very tight squeeze to get the organizer into the bag (I wouldn't want to have to redo that at TSA) and I was unable to fit my laptop into its compartment in the back section of the backpack. *Complaint* Depth/width: Most of the available space in my bag is on top of the organizer, which makes sense, as you'd probably want to have anything you'd need out of your bag while on the move, to be on top. If you do a search for the maximum legal carry on for 170+ airlines, you'll see a chart listing the max dimensions, and of those 155 airlines' list the max depth. The average depth of those listed is 8.8" to the 7" of the organizer, leaving 1.8" for laptop and padding. It's probably sufficient for the newest laptops, but a heads up to those with older computers and/or shallower bags. 50 of the listed airlines have a max depth of 8", which only leaves an inch. The ~2" on the side is also insufficient to add anything more than the flattest pair of shoes - my Saltwater sandals fit, but my structured ballet flats don't. I'm able to get my laptop into the (unpadded) front organizer panel on my backpack, so I will still give this a go, but it's not ideal. It does not feel as though I have 12-14L space left in my bag. I also purchased the compression add-on to the Packgear, but the top-down compression compounds the depth/width issue. *Niggles* -Obviously, I'd love to see this system an inch shallower, or with side compression straps to keep the depth down enough to be able to utilize laptop storage at the back of a pack. -It would be great if there was some way to change the way the organizer hangs so that it tilted back slightly, making it harder for things to fall out as you're digging around. -Earlier iterations had a divided compartment in the top section, which makes sense to me. -As mentioned, earlier iterations were also half the weight. Id love to see this come in under 6 oz.

When packed full, the medium fits perfectly in my carry on. I’m staying with friends for a month, and they do not have a closet or dresser in their guest room. I’m planning to use a couple of over-the-door hooks to hang this over the door so that I don’t have to open and close my suitcase all the time. It comes with two built in hooks, but they are rounded and would not allow the door to close on their own. The zippers on the bottom three compartments meet in the middle, and the bottom compartment is divided down the middle. The top compartment opens from the top and zips all the way around. The material feels strong enough to hold my clothing, but I probably will not hang anything else from this (i.e. toiletry bag) even though there are a couple of loops on the sides. Figuring out how to fold my clothing to where I could see all my options took some trial and error, but it holds a lot. I fit: 6 pairs of pants, 8 t-shirts, 2 long sleeve button up shirts, 3 bike shorts, 2 pajama pants, 3 maxi dresses, 4 bras, 5 sports bras, 11 pairs of underwear, and 13 pairs of socks. Based on how much fit in the medium, I imagine that a small could easily hold enough clothing for a week. I think a large would be too big for one person if you have access to laundry every couple of weeks. This would be a practical organization solution for summer camps etc. where there are a bunch of bunk beds in a room with little floor/closet space. I typically use packing cubes, so I added labels for organization. Overall, I’m happy with this purchase for my specific needs.

My star rating is a reflection of how I'm using it - - which is not really 100% in line with how it's supposed to be used. I'm a minimalist and don't have a ton of clothes. I use this to store my socks, shorts and boxer briefs. I do not use it for travel. I have this hanging in my closet 100% of the time. I'm pretty gentle with things like this. As such it's holding up just fine, but I certainly would think to use 'durable' as a way to describe it. I don't have much faith in the straps that have the snaps and hooks connected to them. The strap material is light weight, but some of the weakest nylon strapping I've seen in years. The straps are soft as a result though, so, maybe that's a positive for you[?]. The straps with the hooks attached connect to the rest of the unit by wrapping around a thin band of the same nylon strap material which is sewn to the sides of the bag. Again, the materials used here don't inspire confidence. Even with a light load day-to-day I expect them to fail within the first year of ownership. And again, I'm very gentle with this sort of thing. The zippers work but also leave something to be desired. I'm fairly sure they aren't YKK zippers [I'm to lazy to go check right now], but if they are, they are the cheapest ones available. They work, but again, I imagine they would fail if they were not handled gently or if the sections were over packed. As critical as my review is, I do actually like this product. I may even buy it again if I cannot find one that's better built whenever this one fails. It works perfectly for my use case. I just with is was built with slightly better materials. If you aren't going to over pack it, and you aren't going to through it around, and you aren't going to use the hanging feature for really long periods of time, this would be a good purchase.

The airline recently lost my luggage and this was the first item I replaced. I have found it indispensable for European travel, where the hotels rarely have storage space for ANYTHING. This hangs anywhere and makes organization an absolute breeze. The laundry bag (which is sadly not currently available) holds way more than you would think and I love not having to have my dirty laundry on the floor or in a moldy plastic bag. I had hesitated to buy this because I already owned a full set of packing cubes, but those are useless when there are no drawers to put them in. I can fit a full weeks' worth of clothes in the smaller version of this item (I own the larger version too), and it's great knowing where everything is (I basically pack it like I dress - tops on the top, socks on the bottom). I highly recommend. The way the hooks work, you can hang it from even the thinnest door frame. It took me a while to realize that you can either remove the hooks when traveling, and pack them securely, or tuck them into the bottom elastic so that they don't flop around (which is what I do). Glad they have the teal color now too so I can have one for me and one for my traveling buddy and we know which is which. I'm actually toying with getting a whole set for my closet and using this for my everyday clothing organization; it is better than most closet organizers.

I had the XL size hanging in my closet while packing it up for a camping trip. Last night I woke up to a loud thud… The straps to hang the organizer have snaps that do not hold the weight of the organizer :( The snaps are great to adjust the hanging height, but I really need the organizer to hang without falling and would rather have sturdy straps.

Just packed for a three day trip and have so much room left in this and it fits perfectly in my 24 inch bag!! I prefer this to packing cubes plus the fact that you could just pull it out and hang it up- huge bonus!!

Love them, keeps clothes well organised easily accessible just like a portable wardrobe

I got the 18” x 9” x 7”. I was worried it might be a little small, but I was completely blown away by how much it can fit. I was able to easily pack 3 days worth of clothes including pajamas and an extra pair of shoes, I have no doubt I could fit 5 days or more. I also expected to put it in my carry on bag, there was plenty of space for this as well as makeup bags and other accessories. Out of curiosity I tried to see if it would fit in my small backpack, not only it fit fully packed, but I could fit more. It zipped up easily and it wasn’t difficult getting it in or out. I travel a lot for work and do a lot of weekend trips with my husband. A lot of hotels don’t have dressers or shelves to unpack, just a small closet or even just a bar with some hangers. I’m so pleased that I now have this, it’s perfect to just hang up and be unpacked, perfect for short trips or road trips when I’m changing hotel every night. There are definitely cheaper alternatives, but I wanted the zippers and adjustable straps. It’s also very good quality so for me it was worth the extra expense.

We absolutely loved these packers!!! Really good quality, enough space. I got the Mediums for the kids and the largest for us. So great to unpack quickly or grab from the bag itself. We did a 3 week trip where we moved every 3 to 4 nights, this packer made that a breeze. You have more than enough space for everything.

Using to hang from the inside wall of our camper trailer. Will be perfect for a week long camping trip. The one that goes with the trailer was missing, but costs $260+$90 shipping. Sheesh.

Pricey game changer, arrived in record time, however very disappointed one of the snaps on one of the straps was faulty. Also disappointed there was no option in the "returns" section just to replace the faulty strap. I would like a replacement strap please with fully functioning snaps. I need to use the pack gear this weekend, which is why I am reluctant to return the whole product.
