Cool in the Shade
Bought this canopy several years ago (3 years - I THINK, maybe 4). The front door of our L-shaped ranch style home faces south and catches a lot of sun. In the late Spring, we erect this sun sail to shade the front entrance/sitting area at the front door. it gives us shade for the front door & sitting area, and lends a nice relaxing feel to welcome guests to our home. The sail is really durable - still in VERY good shape after several years of use, has retained its color, and because its woven - it allows the rain to drain right through. My wife REALLY enjoys it - she's normally the one asking "when will you put up the shade for me". The tiedowns are permanently mounted on the rafter tails, so hanging it up is a cinch. She likes it, and so do I - it gives us a really nice shady place to rock in the settee in the summer.

Good Quality for a Good Price
Yep, it's a sunshade: a giant piece of cloth that matches the dimensions and has a couple grommets. I've only had it up for a few days but it's doing its job and has already survived two Florida thunderstorms. It seems like good outdoor material with a nice, bright color (we got the blue) and thick enough to provide decent shade and damage protection. However, it costs well south of $100 (under $50 in my case) and probably should not be compared to a $400+ setup. It's also loosely woven enough to allow some water to pass through, which is a critically important thing if you plan to stretch it flat out like we did. That way the water doesn't pool on top and cause problems. It also allows enough air to pass through to reduce the danger of it becoming a strong enough sail to tear the cloth or pull your anchors out of the wall. The cloth also feels like it will last in the sun, but only time will tell.I was impressed with the stitching at this price point. All the sides were at least double-stitched and feel pretty sturdy. There weren't even any stitching threads hanging loose.A couple notes of interest:*Even the right-triangle version has sides that are curved. This makes it more visually appealing, and possibly more structurally sound, but reduces the shaded area substantially and may leave "gaps" if you're trying to fit it to an inside corner of a building, as we were. It creates little slivers right next to the wall that still get hit heavily by rain and sun.*I deducted one star from the ease of installation because it does not come with any mounting hardware. Mounting kits can be found on Amazon for about $15, or you can piece them together from a big box store for a little less. Remember that at least one corner's mounting should be adjustable so that you can pull it tight again after the initial stretch-out of the first couple days. We went with 3 eye screws, two carabiners (for easy removal) and a few feet of rope. The rope lets us adjust the tension as needed. That's a pretty cheap setup and we had everything laying around anyway.*It's not important, but the color of your cloth may affect the color of the shadow.All-in-all, I'm very happy with my purchase. I may return it, but that would only be to buy a bigger one since I didn't account for the curved edges.

Does the job I wanted it to do.
It shades as it should. The color compliments the brown and tan canopy that I got at Ocean State Job Lot last year.

Most look great after years of use - not so for the red ones
Overall, these do the job well. They hold up to UV and are colorfast. However, the red ones fade rapidly, though they continue to function otherwise. If it wasn't for having to replace red ones every year or so because they've faded to a dull pale pink, I'd give these shade sails five stars.

Great shade
This canopy works great over our patio which is in an L shape.

Good Value & Quality (and easy to install!)
I just finished getting my sail put up. The size I purchased was 16'x16'x22.6. The package arrived on time, however, you only receive the sail (no hardware is included). I purchased three pad eyes and two turnbuckles from Lowe's for about $30. I watched a few YouTube videos about installation, but honestly, mine was ridiculously simpler than any of those videos. I purchased the sail because the morning sun really beats through our big slider. I give this product 5 stars for value, quality, and ease of installation.

Love it!
It was my 3rd purchase from Amazon (other 2 returned). This came in as expected, perfect dimensions and fit.

Burlap/ tarp material
I was expecting more of a smooth fabric. But the material was more like a tarp kind. I have a sail kind of shade from IKEA that is smooth fabric. If that is what you like, I would not recommend this product.
